Sitter on Rover Makes All Pets and Their Parents Feel Welcome
Pet parents want to know their sitter will accept and welcome them and their pets as they are. Sitter on Rover, Vikki, specializes in meeting pet parents and pets at their level, especially when it comes to providing care for those who often require extra time and patience, such as senior or special needs pets.
“Vikki is amazing!” one of her 175 repeat clients raved in a review. “We left our senior pug, Mojo, in her care. We were immediately reassured with her calm and caring demeanor and her place is so welcoming and safe for pets to enjoy. Mojo’s hind legs don’t work anymore and he can be anxious at times. Vikki took great care of him and was very attentive to his special needs.”
Vikki admits that her closest bonds are often with pets with special needs.
“Just because a pet has disabilities doesn’t mean that they should be treated any different or with less care than any other pet,” Vikki said. “There are times that you can see in their faces the appreciation that they feel by the way you care for them.”
This extra level of care can also be a relief to busy pet parents looking for peace of mind while away from their pets. “That’s what I love the most, being able to provide that safe environment and comfort for people as they go and ‘do.’ I am a huge supporter of vacationing and living in the now, so I am so happy that I can take stress off of pet parents and love their babies while they are away.”
Vikki originally joined Rover as a sitter to supplement income from her fitness and wellness businesses, but demand for her services was so great she eventually closed her other businesses to focus on Rover full-time.
“I have always been a pet lover of all kinds so it seemed like a perfect fit for me,” she said. “I honestly never imagined that I would turn Rover into a full-time career.”
But making pet parents feel seen and their pets’ needs accepted comes naturally to Vikki, who takes pride in her special quality of care, right down to the meaty pill pockets she keeps at the ready for pets with medication needs.
“The thing I love best about caring for pets on Rover is the difference I am able to make in people’s lives,” Vikki said. “The love just fills your heart.”
