We received a free PetFusion Ultimate Dog Bed in exchange for an honest review.
Investing in a high-quality bed for your dog is worth it—but deciding on which bed fits your needs and lives up to its promises can be tricky. Older dogs in particular, with creakier joints or arthritis, can really benefit from a comfortable bed that will provide orthopedic support without going flat or getting easily frayed with a little digging. The PetFusion Ultimate is a popular memory foam dog bed that we decided to have a few Rover office dogs review.
PetFusion makes some very well-regarded dog accessories, and the ultimate dog bed ticks all the boxes: comfy, washable, sturdy, and water-resistant. When the company sent us one test out, we were eager to see if it would pass the sniff test.
What the PetFusion Ultimate Dog Bed Offers
The PetFusion Ultimate dog bed is one of the most popular orthopedic pet beds on the market—and we can see why.
Bolsters ring three sides of the bed, with a gap for easy entrance—an especially nice touch for older and arthritic pups who don’t want to have to clamber over high walls to get into bed.
The four-inch memory foam mattress is firm and supportive, and it’s covered by a water-resistant inner liner and a machine-washable cover that’s easy to remove. Tear-resistant materials are designed to foil diggers, making it a strong choice for all but the most committed chewers.

“That looks comfortable” is the first thing we heard after unboxing this Petfusion Ultimate bed for review.
Before we let the dogs give it a go, a few humans tested it out, and we can confidently say that we would also use this bed!
We especially appreciated the true memory foam—a rarity in the world of dog beds, and one of the things that drives up the PetFusion Ultimate’s price. True memory foam has been found to reduce joint pain and support dog health, mobility, and energy.
That’s especially beneficial for senior dogs who may have arthritis or occasional body aches. This bed boasts an outer bolster that your dog can use as a headrest or for nestling into.
One Rover test pup was recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease and sometimes has accidents in her crate. As her pet parent reported, “With a typical dog bed, I have to put the entire bed into the washing machine to clean it, but the PetFusion Ultimate dog bed has a great removable water-resistant liner that makes cleanup super quick and easy for me. The outer cover is machine washable too.”
Big? Small? They’ve got four sizes for you to choose from. One family of test pups, including a Boston Terrier, a Dachshund, and a Pug, like to all share one bed—the large. We found the bolsters made a great headrest for all of the dogs in our office.
