Riley the golden retriever loves his doggy daycare visits so much, he couldn’t stay away. In fact, he snuck out of his own backyard to go play with his friends there!
Riley walked over a mile through the downtown streets of Belmont, SC and waited patiently at the front door of the Happy Dog Cafe for someone to let him in.
The staff recognized him immediately and called his family to let them know he was found, but let him spend the day playing in the daycare for free.
In case we ever needed proof that dogs are social creatures, this is it. Providing them with regular opportunities for companionship, whether it’s with us, a pet sitter, or a dog walker, is one of the best things humans do for dogs. (And now that we think about it, companionship is also one of the best things that dogs do for us!)
Riley’s family beefed up security in their backyard afterwards, of course, and probably gave the staff at Happy Dog Cafe the best Yelp review ever.
