Maybe. Shelled sunflower seeds, chia seeds, and flaxseed are healthy options for your pet. But many seeds should be consumed in moderation, or not at all. Nuts, shells, and apple seeds can all be risky—and the pits of avocados, cherries, and other fruits are toxic to dogs.
If your dog has any unusual symptoms after eating seeds, contact your vet for medical care.
