Candice did an amazing job taking care of Stu. Though he was happy when we came home, there was absolutely no sign that he was lonely. Its clear that Candice spent ample time making sure he was comfortable. Candice also left the home completely undisturbed. I will use her services again and highly recommend her.

Stephanie was great! She stayed at our home for 10 days to take care of our cat, Loki, and did such a great job. Her communication was fantastic — I loved getting photo updates and hearing how things were going while we were away. She’s so sweet, and it was clear that Loki felt comfortable and enjoyed her company. We came home to a happy cat and a tidy home, and I couldn’t ask for better care. Highly recommend her and would definitely book again!

About: I’ve lived with animals most of my teenage and adult life. My family pet is a turtle who is about 13 years old now. I currently live with 2 dogs and 5 snakes! I have been a standby stable hand for 4 years now. I love animals and I would love to help you care for your furry friends! I work part time at Chick-fil-A on weekdays from 11-4 but I am off on Tuesdays most weeks. I could and would care for your furry friends before and after work if needed! I have dog sat before and I believe strongly in following the guidelines set by the owner. I think routine is important and I would do everything in my power to keep your furry friends routine! I could feed, train, and walk them however and whenever you want and need.

About: I am a dependable and experienced pet sitter with over 8 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. As someone who has grown up with and owned dogs, I understand the importance of providing pets with consistent care, attention, exercise, and affection while their owners are away. In addition to caring for my own dogs, I have regularly pet sat for neighbors and teammates, helping with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, and maintaining pets’ daily routines. I am comfortable working with both large and small breeds and understand that every dog has unique needs and energy levels. I am currently taking supplemental online courses and am working part-time remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for and play with your fur babies throughout the day! I live on 3 acres of property, giving dogs plenty of space to explore, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors under supervision. While the yard is not fenced, I prioritize safety and can keep dogs leashed, closely monitored, or crated when needed. I make sure pets receive daily walks, regular playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. For dogs that enjoy being active, I also occasionally take them on hikes to provide additional exercise and enrichment. I understand the importance of maintaining a pet’s normal routine and will follow feeding schedules, exercise needs, medication instructions, and any special care requests provided by the owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their home and pets with the utmost respect, ensuring pets remain comfortable in their familiar environment while receiving attentive care. My goal is always to make pets feel safe and happy while their owners are away.

MaShon is a dream come true! My pup, Lady, is fearful of strangers and slow to warm up. MaShon has taken extra time with Lady and now they are best friends. My pup has gotten better with strangers and other dogs since MaShon has started taking care of her. She truly has a gift when it comes to animals. I never worry about anything when I leave Lady with her because I know the love and care she has for my dog. I highly recommend!

About: I have lived with dogs my entire life! And I now have had lots of experience watching other people’s dogs as well! I can’t wait to take care of your pup! I have availability throughout the whole week currently. But that is subject to change. I like to spend my off days outside going for walks and enjoying the weather when it’s nice. I like to listen to the clients instructions because every household and every dog is different and has different needs so making sure I follow their rules is the most important thing.

Peggy was wonderful with our shy little Chihuahua, Lily. I wanted someone in the house with our fur baby rather than just drop-in visits and it worked out wonderfully! Peggy was very respectful of our house and took good care of Lily. It was a win win situation for me and for Lil. When we got home I could tell that she had been taken care of well as she was happy to see us; but not clingy or nervous. I will definitely have Peggy in our home the next time we are planning to leave town and highly recommend her as your sitter.

I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs a pet sitter, don’t look any further and select her now. Once again Kaylee thank you for watching buddy, we can’t wait to use you again.

About: I have had dogs, cats/kittens, rabbits, hamsters, rats, mice, fish, snails and hermit crabs. But I have pet sat all kinds of lizards, birds, ferrets, turtles and of course cats/dogs. I am comfortable administering medicine and have experience with fear reactive animals. If you’d like me to take your dog on a run/hike I would absolutely love to. I’m very active and love being outside. If your dog needs more mental stimulation I can play games with them/teach them some new tricks! I am a teacher so I can visit before and after work throughout the week, and since i’m off on the weekends, I can be more flexible then! Unfortunately I cannot bring cats/dogs to my home unless my dog gets along great with yours! I could potentially bring animals that live in a cage though. I’m very comfortable visiting animals in their own homes, as that is usually less stressful for them!

About: Hi, I’m Cas – I'm here to keep your pets happy, healthy, and stress-free at home! I’ve worked in animal shelters and as a veterinary assistant, so I’ve had hands-on experience with pets of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. I’m familiar with canine & feline CPR and first aid, and I have extensive experience stabilizing critically ill and crashing animals. Whether your pet is perfectly healthy, managing a chronic condition, or just needs a little extra support, I’m confident and comfortable providing high-quality care. Some of the conditions I’ve worked with include diabetes (including insulin administration - and I'm a T1D myself, so you can trust that I truly understand the complicated ins & outs of diabetic care, hypo/hyperglycemia, and monitoring), kidney disease (including administration of subQ fluids), allergies (both skin-related and dietary), and senior pet care. I’m experienced with both oral and injectable medications, and I always prioritize a gentle, stress-free approach. I am a Fear-Free Certified professional, I prioritize minimizing stress for pets during interactions. I will work to make every experience as calm and comfortable as possible for your animal. When you entrust me with your animal companion's care, you can expect a reliable, gentle, and knowledgeable approach. I offer pet sitting in your home because I truly believe pets are happiest in the space they know best. I do my best to maintain their routines and provide comfort, enrichment, and calm companionship while you’re away. Looking forward to meeting your pet and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. Pet care naturally fits into my flexible schedule, which means I can fully adapt to your pet’s needs. Whether it’s early morning feedings, midday playtime, or scheduled medications, I’m able to provide care that matches your animal companion's routine without conflicts or time constraints. The most comforting place for an animal is their own home, surrounded by familiar scents, sounds, and routines. That’s why I offer in-home pet sitting—so your animal companion can stay relaxed and happy in the space they know best. Whether it’s curling up in their favorite sunny spot or sticking to their usual feeding schedule, I make sure everything feels just right while you’re away. Stephanie was amazing! She stayed for 2 weeks and took such great care of my chicken nugget! He takes awhile to warm up to people and can be protective of his home, but she won him over and they were buds! I would never have even known she was at my place, and I know she took such good care of my boy! Highly recommend.

Katy did a wonderful job with our dogs; they seemed well taken care of when we returned and the house was clean and tidy. Katy has a very sweet personality and it is obvious she loves dogs. She also sent daily pictures of Quincy and Buddy, which always made us smile.

FAQs for House Sitting - Blair

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 670 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Blair. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Blair walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Blair maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Blair choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Blair. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
