“Leah was wonderful. Mia looks so happy in her pictures. Very reliable and always on time. Great communication Thanks for a great experience will definitely use her again whenever we need.”

“Stevie was great with my pets and administered medications provided when needed for my senior. I would give 5 stars but unfortunately people who were not verified through the rover app were brought onto my property by the sitter during the job and I was not notified. Only reason I knew was due to property camera footage. Dog care was overall great.”

“Regan is amazing! Our meet and greet went great but during the visit my dog was nervous, barking and keeping his distance. Regan took the time to make him feel comfortable and now he loves when Regan visits! I appreciate Regan so much. I'll definitely be booking again.”

About: I've lived with and cared for animals ever since I was old enough to walk and talk, mostly dogs. In recent years I've gained some training experience from having trained my own three dogs, one of which I had for over 18 years. As of now, I am working to fill out my schedule for house visits, walking, potty breaks, and anything you might need for your angels ❤️. Unfortunately, I cannot house any other animal in my home due to space and the pets I already have, but I am more than happy to stay over with your pet! I bring my own suitcase of food and supplies usually follow a feeding/walking schedule set by you, the client. Any additional rules and or stipulations I will be sure to follow with upmost respect!
About: I grew up with lots of pets, a golden retriever, labs, a vizsla, and siamese cats. I have worked with a non-profit rehabbing retired throroughbreads and retraining them for lives off the track, which has given me confidence, patience, and adaptability in handling spirited animals. I am currently working freelance and control my own schedule, so I can customize the level of care required to your needs. I'm happy to care for them at your home or take them on adventures to parks, hikes etc. Depending on your pet's needs, I am available for walks, feeding, playtime, training, boarding, and any other activities they enjoy. My demeanor is calm and patient, able to babysit a senior animal with special needs or entertain the most energetic of birddogs. I have experience in animal training for film and TV and am happy to offer those skills to teach new behaviors if requested.
“Immediately upon meeting Avary, all 4 of our dogs were completely comfortable with her which speaks volumes. She was flexible and followed all directions for our pups. When she had a question, she asked instead of guessing. Avary gave our dogs love and checked in regularly. I was so nervous leaving them in the care of someone new but Avary did not disappoint. She showed that the wellbeing of our dogs were her top priority.”

I treat every dog like family and have great references from people who trust me with their pets. I’m currently in cosmetology school and also work a part-time job Tuesday through Saturday, usually until around 5 PM. Even with my schedule, I always make time to give pets the attention, care, and love they deserve. I’m dependable, organized, and committed to making sure your fur baby feels safe! I have a fenced-in backyard and love going on walks with my fur babies! I’ll make sure your fur baby feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they’re with me.
About: Hey everyone! My name is Mark and I’m a total dog lover. I’ve had dogs my entire life and I started doing house sitting and dog walking when I was 16. I also worked at a feed and seed store, so I have some knowledge on animal nutrition. I work part time at a local sober living community and do some other work from home. Most of the time, I will be available. I will check in and send you at least 2 pictures of your fur baby everyday. When I’m at your place, I will follow every guideline and rule you give me. Your dog will remain the focal point of my attention.
About: Hi! I'm a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. During college, I worked as a veterinary assistant, where I gained valuable knowledge about animal health, behavior, and safety. In addition to my professional experience, I have rescued and fostered numerous dogs over the years, helping them transition into loving forever homes. As a proud dog parent to five dogs of my own, I understand that pets are family and deserve the same love, attention, and care we would give our own. I am responsible, compassionate, patient, and attentive to each pet's individual needs. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply a calm and reassuring presence, I strive to provide a safe, comfortable, and stress-free experience while you're away. I look forward to treating your furry family member like one of my own! Experience with: •Senior care •Puppy care •Pets with disabilities •Pet medication administration This season of life has taught me to slow down and focus on what matters most. As I recover from cancer and gradually return to work, pet sitting has become something that brings me joy, purpose, and healing. I treat every pet with the same love and care I give my own, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in compassionate, responsible, and attentive hands. I provide attentive, loving care whether pets stay in my home or I care for them in theirs. I follow each pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication needs, and plenty of affection. In my home, pets are treated like family and given a safe, comfortable environment. When caring for pets in their own home, I help maintain their routine and surroundings to reduce stress and keep them happy while their owners are away. My goal is always to make pets feel secure, loved, and well cared for.
About: I have taken care of dogs for the past 10 years. My parents were Great Dane breeders and I have experience raising puppies from birth-seniority. I used to groom dogs as a part time job and would love to groom yours free of charge while sitting for you! I am also experienced in training dogs basic commands as well as a few tricks and could probably have your furry baby doing a new trick in less than 2 hours. I'd love to help you with your lovable best friend, day or night!❤️ I currently work part time and have plenty of free time to give your furry friend that special TLC they love! I always come prepared with treats and toys as well. I usually arrive at the client's house, let the pet introduce themselves to me naturally (no threatening behavior, no forced petting, no loud or excited talking, just let them get to know me!) and then hang out in their space for a bit, offering treats if allowed, letting them get used to me, then going on with the routine of feeding, walking, etc, if I'm allowed to groom them, once they're used to my presence, I'll begin that, making sure to stop immediately if they seem upset or threatened! I always end our day together with some treats/food and spending some time with them!
“Had an absolute wonderful experience with Justice! My fur babies were well taken care of down to the detailed instructions. My senior was given her medication orally even when my senior pup gave her a little trouble taking it, she made sure my pup got her meds. I am so thankful to have had someone who knew what they were doing and did it wonderfully! All three of my big fur babies enjoyed having Justice watch over them.”

About: I have been watching dogs sense I was able to drive. I’ve grown up my entire life with dogs and cats. I have a pup named Prince he’s a good boy. I love to meet new pup friends and take care of them as if they were mine. I am a full time student but I am online so I can walk or take out your pets whenever it’s needed, but i do work a part time job. If my assistants is needed just text me and we can set something up! I first want to meet the dogs and go over the do’s and don’ts with the owner. I value the comfort and trust from the pet and owner over everything.
About: I’m a professional dog trainer in the Atlanta area with a background in animal care, behavior, and leadership across both exotic species and family pets. Today, I work as a coach, guiding owners to become confident, clear leaders for their dogs. My approach is simple: you’re the captain, your dog is the player, and I’m here to coach the team. I teach you how to understand what your dog is communicating, support big emotions, and communicate in a way your dog understands. Instead of relying on me to “fix” things, you learn the skills to create consistency, structure, and calm leadership at home. I specialize in dogs with big feelings: anxiety, overwhelm, reactivity, or high‑energy and I help families build habits that make daily life smoother and more connected. If you want training that empowers you as much as your dog, I bring the experience, clarity, and real‑world insight to support your whole team. Rover does not give me the ability to show my real schedule. Please reach out to me directly for accurate scheduling information. We will work together to find the schedule that works for us both. I do not currently offer pet care in my own home. I will come to your home and care for them in the comfort of their own space. I believe pet sitting in a animals own space is significantly less stressful than having to adapt to a whole new environment. I will treat your home like it is my own .
“If you’re looking for someone who is truly compassionate and dependable, Nicole is an outstanding choice. She took wonderful care of my dog, Max, during a drop‑in visit when I had to be away unexpectedly. Her calm, attentive approach made a noticeable difference — Max was relaxed and happy when I returned. The thoughtful photo update she sent was an added touch that gave me real peace of mind. Nicole is someone you can confidently trust with your pet’s well‑being.”

I stick to their normal routines, give them plenty of attention, and always keep things clean and organized. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,138 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Big Canoe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Big Canoe. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
