Seth is a wonderful young man and a very reliable house-sitter. His communcation is great, he followed directions to the T, and most importantly, he loved my animals like his own. My pups are older and require meds and some special attention, and they were happy and healthy upon my return. Set also send me texts with photos each day. I highly recommend this young man to take care of your pets. I met him strictly through Rover, but I will be using him again.

I booked Elicia for house sitting, she was very nice and as far as I can tell did a great job taking care of my animals and house while we were gone! My only critique is that I wish I would’ve received some pictures over the weekend, but I know she did fine with the pups and my cat☺️

Patrick has house sitter for us twice so far and both times were a great experience. Patrick is timely and follows our pets schedules perfectly. He is a very reliable pet sitting and is very respectful of our home when he is home sitting. His home sitting made for a very worry free trip for us. I highly recommend Patrick and will be rebooking with him for future trips.

About: I’ve grown up with pets, dogs, cats, rabbits. So taking care of pets comes naturally to me. So there is no need to worry if you will be away, your animals will always be pampered and loved in my care! I have a pretty flexible schedule, I work mornings though it can always be adjusted when needed. Taking care of pets comes naturally to me so it’s never a hassle or burden! I owned 2 dogs back from where I lived (they stay with my parents now). It’s hard to be away from my dogs because we had such a strong bond. I take care of my animals very well, they had a good routine and slept in the bed with us, I know right so spoiled. Whenever my husband leaves the room early in the morning, I was never alone because when I turn over there is my dog laying down, looking back at me saying good morning. I know the big responsibilities pets can bring, and id like to help you out with that load. I’m also trying to bring that joy pets bring back into my daily routine.

About: I’ve been pet-sitting for around ten years, starting with walking and biking to neighbor’s houses as a kid. I have experience taking care of multiple animals, 3+ walks a day, and taking care of senior dogs. I also have experience walking big dogs and aggressive dogs, as well as house-sitting. I aim to be thorough and timely in my care, while also having fun and building a bond with the animal. As of now, I am free every day of the week. For overnight stays I prefer the weekend (including Friday evenings), but for walks, feeding, medication, or other daily tasks, I am available everyday. I always try to gain the animal’s trust, being patient and gentle with them especially when skittish. I like to make sure there is adequate food and that water is always available, checking to make sure the animal is drinking. I also always include some playtime/enrichment activity with the animal.

Caitlin house sat our 4 dogs and 2 cats for a week. 2 of our dogs are elderly and require extra care with meds and potty pads and the other 2 are German Shorthaired Pointers both under 2. They can be a lot at times. I came home to 6 healthy and happy fur kids. I would definitely use Caitlin again and I highly recommend her.

About: Hi! My name is Lauren, and caring for dogs is something I genuinely love. I understand how important it is to find someone you can fully trust with your pets, and I strive to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while you’re away. I have hands on experience working at a vet owned doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and needs. Through that experience, I’ve become comfortable handling: * Puppies and high-energy dogs * Senior dogs needing extra patience and care * Dogs with medical needs and medication schedules * Reactive or dog-aggressive dogs * Anxious or shy dogs who need a calmer approach Because of my background, I’ve learned how to read dog body language, recognize stress signals, and adapt to each dog’s unique personality and routine. My goal is always to make your pet feel as relaxed and happy as possible while keeping you updated for peace of mind. I currently only offer care in the owner’s home because I believe many dogs are happiest and least stressed in their familiar environment. Staying in their own home allows them to keep their routine, sleep comfortably, and receive one-on-one attention and care. Since my husband is currently deployed, I’m back home full-time, I have a very flexible schedule and am available 24/7 for your pet’s needs. This means plenty of potty breaks, playtime, walks, cuddles, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. Not just quick drop-ins. I know leaving your pet with someone else can be nerve wracking, so communication is very important to me. I’ll always keep you updated with photos, videos, and messages so you can relax knowing your dog is in caring and capable hands. I treat every dog like they’re my own, and I would love the opportunity to care for your furry family member! Pet care easily fits into my daily routine since I currently have a very flexible schedule. I’m available for morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight care depending on your needs. I do my best to follow your dog’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. Consistency is always my goal, whether that’s feeding times, walks, or potty breaks. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Since I provide care in the owner’s home, your pet stays in a familiar environment, which helps reduce stress and anxiety. I carefully follow all instructions provided, including feeding schedules, medications, and behavior guidelines. With my background working at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, I’m experienced in handling dogs of all temperaments, including puppies, senior dogs, medical needs, and dogs that may be reactive or need extra patience. I always use calm, attentive handling and prioritize positive, stress-free interactions

About: I have experience with newborn puppies all the way to senior dogs! I have helped deliver and raise 3 litters of puppies to this day. I have professionally petsit for roughly eight years but have been caring for pets for even longer! I also have experience with diabetic dogs and administering medications and vaccinations, specifically insulin injections. I am a graduate student at VSU in my first semester! My schedule is pretty solid but is subject to change! If my schedule doesn’t fully adhere to what you need, I’m always open to chat logistics and figure out the best schedule to take care of your pets’ needs! I can easily crate animals, I always check twice to make sure doors are shut so no animals get out, I love playing with animals to get their energy out as well as taking long walks with them!

TRUST ME, look no further!!!!!!!!! Sonja looked after my very clingy, high maintenance Beagle named Gabby, for a few days when I had to go out of town for work VERY last minute. She was able to accommodate my situation very efficiently and was MORE than happy to do so. I frantically woke up on a Saturday morning early needing to go out of town for a work trip. I oversee an entire state prison as active Warden and had an emergency situation on the other side of the state. I inquired about booking asap, Sonja responded back within 30 minutes, coordinated a quick meet and greet around lunch time at Freedom Park THAT SAME DAY, and then she was taking care of my baby and entire property by dinner time!! I could not have asked for a better situation/outcome of this very unexpected event. When I met her, I could tell she really was a a true dog lover. It gave me real peace of mind knowing Gabby was in such loving hands. Sonja sent more than enough pictures and videos and kept in communication more than I could have hoped. Any dog parents know you can never have too many dog pics/videos!! When I arrived home, Gabby was relaxed, happy, and clearly well looked after. The house and property were exactly like I left it, if not better. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and trustworthy pet sitter. I’m so grateful for the care she gave Gabby! She will definitely be my go to sitter in the future AND she responded quickly which is important for me with my crazy work schedule. Pet parents like myself know how unsettling and nerve racking it can be to leave your baby with a complete stranger for the first time. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need someone last minute, great communication, and very dependable and so so trustworthy - LOOK!! NO!! FURTHER!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Bemiss

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bemiss on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 53 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bemiss. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bemiss walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bemiss maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bemiss choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
