“I highly recommend Caitlins dog boarding service. Axel had a good time during his stay. Axel normally gets anxious in a new place and with new people but Caitlin made him feel at ease during his entire visit , which also made me enjoy my vacation because I am not worried about my little Axel’s well being. I appreciate all the pictures and the report that she gives you at the end of the day with all the details about how much he ate, how many times he went outside and the potty breaks. Caitlin, Thank you so much for taking care of my little baby…”

“Hannah was so responsive and flexible and incredibly understanding. She watched our fur baby with such care and our pup felt right at home. She was all drawn to her! I would love to book again in the future!!!!”

“So incredibly grateful I found Melanie to take care of my boys for an extended weekend. She provided daily updates and tons of pics to ensure the guys were adjusting nicely to their vacation home. Definitely planning to use her excellent care in the future!”

“Makinzee was very easy to communicate with and was quite responsive with updates on how my dog was doing with photos. My dog had a lot of fun playing around with the kids in the house and the other dogs. He came back home better groomed as well. I would definitely trust Makinzee with Java again.”

“Feiran was amazing! We boarded our dog Bella at her house for 1 week. Bella had a great time with her new friends. Feiran sent me a lot of photos and videos of my dog during her stay along with how she was doing. Will definitely book another long stay again in the future :)”

“Aratrika was great! She gave us lots of updates throughout Moxie’s stay and followed all care instructions perfectly. We would definitely book with Aratrika again in the future!”

“Savannah took excellent care of our kiddos! We had reservations about boarding just because we've never done it and we had 1 million questions. It really helped that we had an introduction at her house before the trip to determine if it was a good fit. I would book Savannah again!”

“Always trust Lainey with my girl! She has taken care of her as she has grown up and has gotten to know my puppy so well! My dog gets to go on vacation when she boards with her!”

“Amber is the best sitter I’ve had for Beanie so far. I’ve rebooked with her multiple times, and every experience has been wonderful. The last time I dropped Beanie off, she was having some diarrhea issues, but Amber handled it so well. She checked with me before feeding her pumpkin, and it really helped Beanie feel better. Beanie absolutely loves spending time with Amber, which gives me so much peace of mind. Amber clearly understands dogs and knows how to care for them with both knowledge and compassion. Dog owners can truly relax and trust that their pets are in great hands with her.”

“Peggy was great! She had to take in my dog to the vet LAST MINUTE ON CHRISTMAS EVE but didn’t complain so much as a minute. She was also able to get my dog into healthier habits and she lost those last couple pounds we were worried about! Absolutely amazing. 10/10 recommend.”

“Third stay, and each one is somehow more fun for our dog than the last one. Julie and Luxe take great care of their guests and make them feel very welcome, loved, and safe. Can’t recommend strongly enough!”

“Rae was really wonderful with my older (14) dog Nikki, who is wonderful but has some special needs. Rae kept me posted about how Nikki was doing (e.g., picking at her food) and also let me know that Nikki was drinking an unusual amount of water, which can be a sign of various health issues. I so appreciated how attentive she was to even small details. Rae was also very responsive when I sent my initial boarding request and during Nikki’s stay. I highly recommend Rae and she will be the first person I contact next time we need a sitter!”

“Kellie was wonderful! She was thoughtful and asked all the right questions to make sure she could give my dog Jersey the best care possible. I'll definitely be looking to Kellie for my future pet-sitting needs!”

“I 100% recommend Alysa!! She did an amazing job watching my high maintenance pup in her home while I was on vacation. She is incredibly kind, responsible, and my dog loved her. She followed all my instructions, including giving daily medications, to a T. I felt very comfortable leaving my pup with her and her dog Oatmeal. I definitely recommend Alysa and would use her again.”

“We cannot say enough good things about Meghan M. She is awesome! Ollie was very excited to see her and settled in quickly after we left!! Meghan is very personable! She sent us pics and a summary of their activities each day we were gone! Can’t wait to use her again!!🩵”

About: I have been around animals my entire life. I once had dreams of being a vet and spent two summers as an intern at a vet clinic, but learned quickly that that is not necessarily the career to choose just because you love animals, haha. That being said, I love both dogs and cats and have been a volunteer at animal shelters since 2017. I currently have a sweet but shy 6 year old cat named Rhiannon. I work remotely on weekdays, so I am home throughout the day for companionship and frequent potty breaks, if needed. I love to go on evening walks in my local park as well. I live in a single family home with an unfenced yard, but any bathroom breaks would be under my full watch and care. I have one sweet but shy cat, but she has her own room if your pet is not okay with other animals.

“Kat and her partner did great with Marv. We had to scramble to get him in last minute for an over night trip so she was okay with skipping the meet and greet. They said he did good but for whatever reason didn’t get along with her dogs. They still took great care of Marv and cuddled him and gave him great care and attention regardless of him not getting along with their dogs. We really appreciated them working with us and taking good care of Marv. Would definitely recommend them to anyone for a good easy to work with dog sitter! They even let us know we can change our settings to find a sitter with no dogs of their own so Marv doesn’t run into any additional issues with other dogs.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Bellflower home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Bellflower.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Bellflower sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
