About: Hi my name is Cory! I love dogs and they seem to know it right away. I have been around dogs since I was 4 years old. I have owned 2 akitas and an English bulldog . My latest Akita Diablo passed away 5 years ago and I haven't gotten another dog since his passing so currently I have no dogs. I only have chinchillas and a hamster as of now. I have a lot of experience working with dogs and they seem to feel relaxed and comfortable when in my care, making this the perfect job for me. I know how to approach these animals in a way that is non-threatening to reduce their anxiety and to help them relax. I can help to maintain the routine they are used to, so they will not get anxious or feel so alone while their owners are away. I have extensive knowledge concerning the different breeds of dogs and I know how to take care of them properly. I understand that some breeds have special needs and that the age of the dog will play a major role in how to take care of them. You can depend on me to provide excellent service and to take great care of your dog/dogs. I know what questions to ask to make sure I understand their specific needs. I will be full time dedicated to your furry child, providing walks and play time as much as needed! About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life — big and small. I care for my two large dogs daily and helped raise my Boston terrier until he passed at 14. I’m comfortable with all breeds, patient with senior dogs, and treat every pup like family. Reliable, gentle, and experienced. I’m available Tuesdays and Wednesdays anytime after 11AM, as well as after 6:30PM every other weekday by request only ensuring your pup gets dedicated attention, exercise, and playtime without rush. Whether it’s daily walks or drop-in visits, I balance my commitments so your dog always feels valued and well-cared for. Consistency and reliability are important to me—I treat each dog like family and make sure their routine is smooth and loving. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. Whether I’m walking your pup or visiting them in your home, I keep their routine, personality, and comfort level in mind. I follow any feeding, walking, or medication instructions exactly as given, and I take time to build trust with each dog—especially shy or senior pups. I always double-check doors, leashes, and gates to make sure your pet is secure before and after every visit. If anything seems off or if I have a question, you’ll hear from me right away. About: Growing up, my very first chores were dog- related, so animal care has always been integral in my life. While I sadly no longer have any furry friends of my own, I am an animal person at heart. I’ve pet-sat for family, neighbors, friends, Rover clients, for pets of all breeds and sizes, and I’m very comfortable around any dogs. I grew up with 2 German-shorthaired pointers, and I was responsible for their care daily before and after school. As we (me and the dogs!) all got older, I was the primary caretaker of them in their senior years, so I’m very familiar with the struggles and ailments that come with elderly dogs. I am strong enough to lift most dogs if stairs are any issue- our dogs were around 60-70lbs. I have had roommates with cats who I’ve become very close with. I’ve always loved cats, so learning to care for them and earning their trust was so exciting. I’ve cared for the cats for a week’s time before, so would feel comfortable caring for cats as well. I love pet sitting- it’s nice to have a furry friend to visit since I lack one in my own family at the moment! Any client of mine gets all the pets and attention they could ever dream up. I am also very active, and I walk or run every day, so having a companion there is a bonus for us both! I am currently between full-time jobs but keeping my calendar updated very frequently with my summer availability as I am hoping to pick up work either ongoing or on a one-time basis! Depending on the comfort of each pet, I always spend some time introducing myself and getting to know them at first. Spend some time petting them and getting them comfortable with my presence in their space, and next playing with them if they’re up for it. Once they know they can trust me, we’ll take the day ahead together and they’ll alternate resting, playing with toys, and walking outside. About: I started my pet journey growing up with dogs as a kid. I adopted a hissy adult cat in 2017 (my exact words were, “I’m looking for the most difficult, pain in the butt cat you have” and they told me they had the perfect one!). After she passed unexpectedly from cancer, I started volunteering and fostering with a local animal shelter. Since January 2023 I’ve had almost 100 fosters! One puppy, two adult dogs, and a whole bunch of cats and kittens! I also walk dogs at the shelter when I’m able. I am also certified in pet first aid and working towards my Vet Tech degree. Because of my volunteer work with the shelter, I have a lot of varied experience when it comes to working with dogs and cats of all kinds both behaviorally and medically, although my area of expertise lies with cats. I work from home so have a relatively flexible schedule. My favorite animals to help are kitties (both in age and at heart) who need a little TLC during the day or check-ins when their paw-parents are away. Because my kitty baby was a runner, I am very cautious when entering/exiting a home. I am also very cautious when it comes to sanitation, toxic food and substances, and animal body language. I understand the importance of providing animals with mental and physical stimulation and am always eager to provide them with enrichment.
