“Summer was awesome. She came by early to meet the dogs and learn our daily routine with the dogs. Our younger dog was a bit difficult, and she is very scared of new people. But Summer was very patient and worked hard to keep Skye with going outside to potty and to eat. Towards the end of the week Skye finally came around to Summer and they seemed very happy to see Summer come in the house, based on photos sent. Thank you for your help!!”

About: Hello! My name is Brianna! I have a French bulldog named Stella who is my world! I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds! I also don’t mind helping out with other animals in your home! My personal dog takes daily medication so if that’s something your pet needs I’m used to that already! I'm currently working shift work with a pretty flexible schedule. My days off and hours always change. Please reach out and we can figure out how I can best take care of your pets. I understand that pets are family members. I will make sure that they are taken out at the agreed upon times. I can send you photos throughout their care. I want to take the stress away from you while you are away knowing that your pet is in great hands.

About: Over the years I have had experience with dogs, rabbits, fish, cats, pigs, cows, chickens. I grew up on a farm with cows, pigs, and chickens. As an adult I have owned a rottweiler (2011-2019) and labradoodle(2016-2020) that I absolutely loved and made me fall in love with dogs. They are now angels watching over me. I currently have five kitties rocky (17yrs), Simba (7yrs), Gracie (2yrs), Penny (2yrs), and Bella (1yr). During COVID I had pet and food rabbits and chickens for meat and eggs. I work fulltime during the day usually Monday through Friday 5am-4pm. I work part time on the weekends for a DJ which is usually just Saturdays 3pm to 11pm depending on the event. I enjoy my down time caring for my furrbabies and making sure they have food and water and clean litter boxes. I am always trying to find new ways to make them live a better and happier life. I have a split foyer with 5 cute and lovable kitties. I have a temporary catio on my deck for them to safely enjoy the outdoors. I live in a semi quiet neighborhood that I enjoy taking longs walks around. I make sure that the animal is comfortable with me and not scared as stress is not good for an animal. I love getting outside and going for walks so if your animal needs a walk, it will just make my heart happier to have company. Fuurbabies are family so I will treat your furrbaby just like if they were my own.

About: I’ve been taking care of animals for friends, family and coworkers for over 20 years and I’m comfortable with any and all animals. I currently work at a Vet office where animals are my specialty and I’m trusted with others animals. I know of medical terms and how to give basic care until help arrives (if necessary). I pet sit for older people that just need a little bit of extra help, and I’m happy to do it! I love seeing smiles on peoples faces knowing their pups, cats, bunnies, etc are being taken good care of. I have open availability! Open schedule for whenever I’m needed. I have a side job, but I do it when I want to and don’t have a set schedule with that job. I’m self employed basically. I make sure they have water and food whenever they’re scheduled which is usually 8am for breakfast and 4pm for dinner. I don’t let my cats out ever, I don’t really like having cats outdoor like that unless that’s how they were raised. I make sure their litter is clean and taken care of at least twice a day and make sure the dogs are getting walks, pets and snacks. Just making sure the animals are comfortable really is my goal.

“I'm so glad I booked Grace last minute for overnight house and cat sitting. My cat can be very shy and anxious when we're gone, to the point of not eating. Grace offered to do a meet and greet and kitty warmed up to her quicker than anyone else he's met, even rubbing up against her. She's one of those rare people that animals trust and love right away. During our trip, Grace sent us frequent updates with photos and videos, and confirmed he was having medicine each day. It was clear that he felt very comfortable and confident around her! She also made sure to inform us of packages received and any other house-related updates. She was extremely respectful of our home and went above and beyond cleaning after herself, which was very appreciated after traveling. When you leave your pet alone with someone new, it can be nerve wracking. I can reassure anyone in need of a sitter that Grace will treat your baby like her own.”

About: Hi! My name is Jessica, I’m 20 years old and a third-year student at Towson University. I’ve been pet-sitting regularly since I was 14 and have experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, puppies, birds, tortoises, horses, and other farm animals. Over the years, I’ve provided pet and house-sitting services both locally and while traveling, including overnight stays in Maryland and other states. I’ve also fostered puppies, which gave me plenty of hands-on experience with younger dogs and the extra attention, patience, and cleanup that comes with them! My experience includes dog walking, drop-in visits, cat sitting, feeding, administering medication, cleaning up accidents, overnight care, and making sure pets get plenty of attention and companionship while their owners are away. I’m comfortable adapting to different routines, personalities, sizes, and care needs. I’m also an equestrian and have years of experience riding and caring for horses. I’ve volunteered at The Big Purple Barn in Bowie and Promise Landing Farm in Upper Marlboro, where my responsibilities included feeding, grooming, mucking stalls, turnout, and general barn care. Because of that experience, I’m also comfortable with farm-sitting and caring for animals beyond traditional household pets. I genuinely love working with animals and understand how important it is to have someone reliable and attentive caring for them while you’re away. I’m currently based in the Towson/Baltimore area, and also spend some time in DC/Central MD on my weekends. :) I have a super flexible schedule, with classes only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pets and help make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well cared for! 🐾 I’m currently a college student who only has classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I have a lot of flexibility and free time to care for your pet(s) throughout the week, during the weekend, and even after my classes. I can easily feed, walk, clean, and care for dogs along with caring for cats; feeding them, cleaning the litterbox, playing with them, and anything of the sort. I have a keen eye for detail and am very particular, so I heavily prioritize specific details and notes left by pet parents!

About: I’ve taken care of various different species of dogs and cats within my neighborhood and area since I was 10! I’ve always been an animal lover so many of my neighbors counted on me to take care of their fur babies! Within this years worth experience, I have learned to work with different species of dogs & cats! I am able to work with cats and dogs of different personalities, traits, needs, etc! Neighbors have relied and trusted me to feed, walk, bathe, spend time and show loving to their beloved pets! I’m currently a part time collage student but I still have a lot of time to play, care for and show so much love to your fur babies! I am available Monday, Wednesday, Thursdays, Friday, and Sunday after 12:30 pm!🧡 In my clients home, I always ensure the pets safety! I make sure to check surrounding and keep things out of reach that could harm the animal! I always make sure to introduce myself slowly as I am in their home and allow them to get comfortable with me at their own pace. I always ensure to go through and memorize their routines and feeding schedules. I always respect the home owners home as well and make sure it stays clean!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
