“Robin was exactly on time for her first walk with our 6-month old Izzy. Izzy loves every dog or person she meets. so I wasn't surprised when she greeted Robin affectionately. After a few minutes of instruction, they were off for their first walk together. When they returned, Robin described their adventure in detail. She was articulate and accurate, given Izzy's typical behavior (for example: she doesn't "get" that a dog growling at her means "keep away." }. Big news: Izzy must have felt very comfortable with Robin, since this was the very first time that she peed on-leash during a dog walk away from our yard. I felt extremely comfortable with Robin also and would recommend her highly. I will use her again, for sure!”

“Our dog Whiskey has already become fond of Christina and their walks together. Christina is a great communicator and reliable dog walker. I look forward to booking Christina more and maybe future overnights too. She is a wonderful, friendly and clearly great with pets and highly recommend.”

About: Rhinebeck local with a 30 minute lunch break. Available for overnight in-home and/or dog walking services. Experience with giving oral medication. Big dogs and puppies welcome! Kitties and small animals, too! Minimal experience with reptiles (only leopard geckos) but I can watch them with care instructions. Generally I work early morning to early afternoon. No earlier than 5:30 and no later than 6:00 p.m. Weekends included. My days off are usually Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday. There are some exceptions as my schedule varies week to week. But I can and frequently do work around customers' schedules, especially with advanced notice! I am diligent in keeping an eye on animals in the home. Especially puppies/potty training animals. When we are out taking a walk (for dogs) I will cross to the other side of the street and not greet other dogs, even if yours is friendly. Better to be safe than sorry! Same goes for dog parks. We can go, but I will keep a close eye on any animals and leave if things get too hot.

About: Hi there! I’m Gaby, and I’ve been caring for beloved animal friends, including dogs, cats, (and even ducks!) for private clients over the past six years. Whether it’s a daily walk, an overnight stay, or simply some loving company while you’re away, I treat every animal as if they were my own. I’m reliable, experienced, and passionate about what I do, and I’m now expanding my pet care services through Rover to reach even more furry (and feathered) friends. References from long time clients are happily available upon request. I believe trust is everything when it comes to your pets. Let’s connect! I’d love to meet your companions and be part of their happy, healthy routine. As an artist and student attending Bard College, I structure my days to be present and attentive; qualities that naturally extend to the animal friends I care for. My schedule is flexible in the evenings and on weekends, which means I can accommodate night visits, drop ins, and extended weekend stays with ease. Caring for animals is a grounding and joyful part of my routine. Whether it’s early morning feeds before class, relaxing evening walks, or playful visits on weekends, I prioritize each animals' comfort and happiness as part of my daily flow. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine and trainings as consistent as possible with feeding, walks, playtime, and cuddles all happen on schedule to keep them comfortable and happy. I respect your space, clean up after all visits, and make sure your pet feels calm and safe until you return. When caring for pets in my own home, I create a welcoming, low stress environment with plenty of attention, enrichment, and comfort. Whether in your home or mine, my aim is to communicate clearly with updates and photos so you know your pet is in good hands.

About: I have been growing up around and taking care of pets all of my life. I have taken care of puppies, middle-aged dogs, senior dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and pigs. I can give them medication and bring them into appointments. I love to with dogs! I have a backyard and other dogs for them to play with. In case an emergency, I live 15 to 20 minutes away from two different animal hospitals. Since I only work part-time job during the day, I love sitting outside in the sun, playing with the dogs and watching them run around and play with each other. I love meeting, new pets and getting to know them. I also love sitting inside and watching TV while I pet your pet. At my house we let the dogs out every 2 to 4 hours to go to the bathroom. They are mostly outside anyways. They go on a walk every day. I feed my pets twice a day. They get lots of love and cuddles. For my clients pets, I play with them All day and I do whatever they would specifically like me to do with their pet.

About: I genuinely love all animals! If I could have 10 dogs, I would. Over the last 15 years I’ve cared for family and friends pets whenever needed, welcoming them into my home or visiting theirs. I love small dogs, big dogs, high energy dogs or low. I can adapt to almost any pets needs, frequent walks, extra snuggles, administer medicines, providing treats, and extra attention. I can’t wait to snuggle and spoil your fur baby. I lost my greater swiss mountain dog in July of 2024, and quickly realized life without a dog wasn’t for me. I adopted a new pup in October. We are excited to welcome your pup into the mix! I’m a teacher with all summer off, so I have unlimited flexibility during the summer months (July and August). During the school year, I work 7am-3pm on weekdays. My yard is unfenced, but your pup will be offered frequent walks and potty breaks. My dog and I spend hours of time outside every day. We walk the trails in our neighborhood and often go to local parks to explore different places. I typically follow your every directive because all dogs needs are different. If you tell me your dog doesn’t enjoy the heat of the summer, we will be couch potatoes in the air conditioning. You know your pup best, so please reach out with any important information I should know! I’m happy to accommodate.

“Dena walks my dog every week. They are reliable, punctual and I was able to tell that they're extremely kind during our meet and greet. Dena took the time during the meet and greet to rehearse putting on my dog's unique harness and to walk my dog to learn our regular walking route. I've never had a pet sitter do that in the m+g! My dog responds so well to their guidance on the leash. Dena makes sure my dog stays active, safe and hydrated. I know she's in great hands when I'm out - you can definitely trust and count on Dena!!”

Barrytown dog parents share their Rover experiences
Victoria has taken our dog Nico on countless walks now and we are so grateful that she is on Rover. She is always responsive and punctual and updates us on the walk. And Nico loves her! A few times we have asked her last minute and she has been able to do it. I highly recommend her!

This was Cassandra’s first time meeting Ellie and Mia, and she was fantastic! Although Ellie and Mia can be shy around new people, they warmed up to Cassandra right away and had a wonderful walk with her. I’d feel confident having her walk or dog-sit for them anytime.
