“Marie is fantastic!! I was nervous about leaving my dogs in the care of somebody I didn't know but she made this the best experience! All of my animals loved her and it was so nice having peace of mind that they were well cared for while I was gone. 100000% will use Marie again!!”

“Penny was so great with Buddy! He liked her right away. Buddy has separation anxiety but Penny was great company for him and when we got home Buddy was happy. We will definitely ask her to watch him again!”

About: I ran a pet nutritional building for two years, I also was in charge of feline foster care, as well as walking dogs in our neighborhood in Pennsylvania. I have a soft spot for animals of all kinds. Daytime hours are preferred, willing to do nights for comeback clients. I’m located in lancaster so depends on how far the drive. Whatever is most convenient for your needs. I do not normally do in-home pet care, I will sit during the day, but I will not do overnights in house unless special request. I will do walks, and drop in visits make sure your baby gets lots of energy burnt out.
“Cheryl was great with my chocolate lab. She was very communicative with anything that came up. And even stayed little longer when she noticed Bailey was very anxious and seemed unwell. Thanks Cheryl for taking care of Bailey. Bailey had a great time with her too!”

About: With over 40 years of experience caring for animals, I bring a calm, confident, and loving approach to every pet I meet. Big dogs don’t scare me—in fact, I adore them—and my background as a vet tech in an emergency clinic means I’m comfortable handling medical needs, including administering medications. I truly love all animals, and I talk to every dog, cat, or critter as if they were my own. Your pets will be in patient, capable, and genuinely caring hands with me. I can work from anywhere and I set my own hours so I'm available for any schedule that you and your pets need, even if it's just a visit. In your home, I care for your pets just like my own. Our cat sleeps with us, Tank is on the floor on my side is the bed. I talk to them like they're my best friends. 😊

I’m a full time online student and have a golden retriever that I get to take care of every day. My schedule is flexible as I need more income that works around my schoolwork. I take my dog outside every couple of hours, we go for walks around the complex, play outside at the dog park, spend time playing inside, and lots of training treats!

About: I began house sitting in high school for close family friends and neighbors. The first family who trusted me had quite the crew — two birds, a turtle, two senior cats, a dog, and even a couple of fish. Caring for their pets, especially the cats, taught me early on how important consistency and attention to routines can be. Since then, I’ve cared for and walked many dogs while babysitting and nannying, both for short visits and overnight stays. I understand the level of detail it takes to help pets feel comfortable and to give owners peace of mind while they’re away. I also have experience caring for pets with medical needs. My own dog tore his ACL while I was in college, and for months I carried him up and down stairs while managing his recovery. He also had allergies that required daily medicated baths, a special diet, and multiple medications. He was clever enough to try to outsmart me when it came to pills, which taught me patience, creativity, and a sense of humor when caring for animals. I truly believe every pet has a unique personality. I approach pet care with attentiveness, patience, and playfulness so animals feel safe, understood, and well cared for. My goal is always happy pets and complete peace of mind for their owners. I work a full-time schedule during the week, but I’m happy to provide care before and after work and occasionally in the evenings depending on timing and location. With advance notice, I’m also happy to adjust my weekend schedule to fit your pet’s routine. I do my best to accommodate requests whenever possible. I treat my pets as family, and I have witnessed my family and friends care for pets as if they are a child. On days I couldn’t bring my dog along, I trusted the people watching him to do the same, and maybe even add a little extra love for missing his family.

About: I’ve had pets as long as I can remember, and wouldn’t have it any other way. They are the charm of any home!! I would be honored to watch your pet. I currently work from home and have three dogs myself. All very loved and get along great with other animals, including cats!! I am home all day every day and the dogs thrive when we have a guest pet. My house is set up to where I can divide the animals and they’d still be comfortable. I also have a very large 2 acre lot that is completely fenced in.

About: My family has owned numerous of dogs in our large family. From my Uncle's Dobermann trio to my mother small Pomsky (Pomeranian and Husky mix) I've taken care of them all. The dogs in our family are tired of me before I've run out of steam to play or walk. I own five cats at the moment though one of them acts like a caine. My cats are friendly and mind their business when I overnight board my mother's Pomsky or my sister's Old lab mix girl for a few days. Cleaning after animals do not bother me. I daily change 6 cat litter boxes. When I'm left clear instructions the job is done efficiently every time. I work from home full time and I'm awake before the sun come up. I'm ready to get the job done early and my job is flexible about my breaks. I can visit your pets anytime designated as I have my own vehicle. I have a open yard that's not fenced in though only one neighbor with a dog behind a fence. I'm working to fence my yard in the future as I like the idea to give sitted dogs that open space. For now know your dog will become part of my workouts and I love to walk about 3-5 miles daily. At my home your dog will be welcome to chill with us though during the night will board in the spare room in or out of any provided crates.
About: Me and my girlfriend have more than 10 years experience with dogs, cats, parrots. Professional house sitter with dogs, cats, rabbits. Unfortunately we can not have animals at the moment as we are exploring the country, so we are caring about other people pets which we really enjoy. We can provide a lot of feedback from another service which we used for caring about pets. I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups! Planning to connect my job with animals so will be able to care about your furry friends any time We will easily follow the rules you suggested for your dog safety. Commons sense is the main rule, dog first should be safe and than happy!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bardin. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
