About: We always had a family dog during my childhood. As I was raising my children, we had both dogs and cats throughout the years. I have adopted cats from shelters over the last 15 years (one being a senior cat who passed away during COVID). Over the last 8 years, I have provided live-in dog care/house sitting for my sister's dogs as she traveled to the west coast. I currently help friends and family with animal care as needed. I enjoy being outside and would love taking walks with your pets in nature. I am a retired registered nurse and have ample free time available. I currently volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Family Room at Albany Medical Center Hospital. I also volunteer at Capital Roots in Troy. My hobbies include gardening, photography, hiking, kayaking, and musical theater. Finley is my indoor cat who loves watching all of the neighborhood activity from our porch. When my family/friends travel out of town, I stay in their home while they're away to care for the animals.

About: I have, of course experience as a pet lover as a young child, merely watching and walking the dogs, feeding and changing litter/ picking up after the dogs. I never fully had responsibility and experience until I adopted my pal Leo. He is a high energy lab retriever and puts me through every step of patience! All in all, it has taught me to be stern and serious when needed, but flip it around to fun and playful as well. My boy knows to respect me and listen when i give a command. I know with my body language and direct nature will ensure your pups and kitties are loved and watched over. I will give your pets the time and attention you allow and ensure that while you are away there is plenty of fun to be had, and plenty of adventure as well :) I will be enrolling in school online at SNHU and will be taking courses at home. I take everything into opportunity to gain a new skill. I will ensure your pet feels safe and secure with me, all of their needs will be met so long as they are in my care! :)

About: I had over ten dogs growing up, both large and small, and have had three cats. All have lived to an old age and had a wonderful quality of life! I work from 7am-3pm Monday-Friday with occasional work from homes, so I can provide pet care in the early morning and/or afternoon/evening! On weekends, I am flexible! About: Dogs and I understand each other. I've always gotten them and they've always gotten me. Maybe because I grew up with three mammoth Samoyeds and Malamutes, and shared my life with Max, my sweet Cavalier, until he passed. Beyond love and care, I'm good at training and socializing, and dogs respond to my calm, confident leadership. I once cared for a reactive dog who barked at everyone who came near her, and I was the only one who could get her to settle and listen. After a month with a young Portuguese Water Dog, her owners told me she moped after I left. But mostly I think dogs feel good around me because they sense I genuinely care about them. I believe dogs are here to teach us to love and I want every dog to experience great care. For me, good dog care starts with getting to know the dog and the people who love them. I think dogs feel safest when their sitter truly knows them. Before any stay, I like to meet you and your dog, take a short walk together, and learn the little things that make your dog feel at home. That's why every stay begins with a meet and greet. What I offer that's different: - Pick-up and drop-off for longer stays: For stays of a week or more, I'll pick up and drop off your dog anywhere within a 30 minute drive of Dalton, including Lenox, Stockbridge, and Great Barrington. One less thing to manage before your trip. My home is calm and quiet, with a large, fully fenced backyard on a peaceful street in Dalton. I work from home, so your dog has company through the day, plus walks, play, and plenty of affection. I follow your instructions to the letter so your dog's routine stays as close to home as possible, and you'll get photos and a quick update every day so you can relax and enjoy your trip. Also happy to reinforce any training your dog is working on like leash manners. How I work: Every new client starts with a meet and greet, about 30 minutes with a short walk together, so your dog and I can meet before the stay. It helps make sure we're a great match, and your dog arrives already knowing a friendly face. Boarding in my home is a great fit if your dog: Settles comfortably for stretches after the initial sniffing and cuddles to get used to a new space. I have a large three bedroom home with an huge fenced back yard on a quiet street near trails. It's single floor so no stairs for older dogs to contend with.

About: I have several years of hands-on experience caring for dogs through pet sitting, dog walking, and working at a dog daycare.
