I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, so I take the time to make sure they receive individualized care and feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away. I am currently working full-time, mostly remote with one or two days in the office each month. Working from home gives me plenty of flexibility to provide regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention throughout the day. I’m also happy to accommodate each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I provide a calm, attentive environment and carefully follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, medications, walks, routines, or special needs.

“Jessica and Nick have been watching Sara Mae during the workday for a couple of months now. Sara Mae's DaDa died just this past April and she had to move from a nice home in Charlottesville with a big porch and yard, to live with me in a DC apartment. She is a fairly anxious dog to begin with, and as you can imagine under tremendous stress and depression the past few months, getting sick a lot and not eating, especially when I had to return to work. She went from nearly 65lbs at her healthy weight, to 45lbs in two months. Since staying with Jessica and Nick during the day during the work week, she has started to calm down, is now eating again, and putting weight back on that she had lost due to depression and stress. Jessica and Nick are quite literally life savers, and I cannot thank them enough for easing my mind about Sara Mae and being a huge part of the process of helping her get to a new, healthy, normal while I have to be at work. About: There is no kind of pet I haven’t cared for. From special needs, disabled, old, young, wild and tame, my experience stretches for miles, as does my love! I work in special education and am an army wife! That means I have ample time to go for walks, give belly rubs, and so much more after working hours. I care for every animal like it is my own when in my care. I have had ducks, cats, dogs, turtles, fish, hamsters. You name it, I’ve had it!
About: I've been in veterinary medicine for 12 years. I am comfortable around all pets, no matter the breed or personality. I have two giant breed diggitys and I understand how hard it is to find safe care for your fur babies. We live in a noise free environment , zero cars, zero sirens etc. I am fear free certified and can handle nervous nellies and their needs very well. I'm currently working remotely and homeschool. The house is full of good energy. Since we have children and other pets/animals we are up as early as 5am in the morning and last walks are around 8p. If it is a weekend and we are staying up later in the night than walks could be as late as 10pm. It does depend on the pet also. My dogs are pet friendly however because of their size some other dogs don't take to them. My personal dogs have their own room and crate. We have multiple free spaces for up to 10 dogs small and or 5 dogs small/medium large. We live on 73 acres with 4 hiking trails. The dogs and ducks definitely get their exercise. If you have a senior pet or a pet that does better away from children or other pets, we can accommodate that as well. I am currently working remotely with some days in clinic. Between myself and my nephew someone is always home. We also homeschool so the house is always active. We have tons of space so if your pet doesn't do well with "active" we can accommodate that as well. With all the land and space we can easily go on 4-5 mile scenic walks. We can also let dogs who have name recall roam free (supervised). We live on 73 acres, very secluded. Our noise level is zero. There aren't cars driving by, sirens etc. We have a few hiking trails that have been cleared. We also have a room specific for dog sitting in our home. We can make it feel like home or have the approach of a normal boarder. We do ask that all pets are at minimum rabies vaccinated. This is the only vaccine legally required in the state of Maryland. We also ask that for boarding , you provide a favorite toy and t-shirt to help minimize anxiety and stress. We have calming plug ins in certain areas of the house to help decrease anxiety as well.
