“Yogi enjoyed his stay. I like that there are options. Dogs can stay in the house. But if they are more comfortable outside, she has a deck with access to a fenced in grass area. Good communication. No problems.”

“We feel incredibly lucky to have found Walter and his family. Harper has been going to their home since she was a young puppy, and it truly feels like her second home. She is always happy and well cared for, and we know she receives plenty of love and attention while she's there. Walter and his family are kind, trustworthy, flexible, and highly communicative. We couldn't ask for better caregivers for our pup and look forward to many more years with them. Thank you for everything, as always!”

About: I’ve been in the general field of caretaking for about 6 to 7 years. I was a full time nanny to a family of 7 children and 3 dogs for a few years before I married, and before that, I had multiple families for whom I watched their little ones, including the family dog/dogs. I also did some exclusive pet sitting apart from my previously mentioned work experience. I managed both kids and pets at once. I’ve gotten to know a variety of dog breeds. Growing up, we always had dogs. We’ve had a labradoodle, a few small mixed breeds, and a bernedoodle. Our bernedoodle, Rocco, I trained myself. He is the gentlest dog I’ve ever met and so smart. I taught fun tricks but also some useful ones like how to ring bells to indicate he needed to potty. I have loved being around dogs and having them in my life. We don’t currently have a dog since my two kids are young, so we can’t afford our own pup right now, although we certainly will get one in the future. That’s why I’m so excited to be able to provide other people’s dogs a warm and welcoming home away from home where they will be loved on and feel at ease. I’m a full time stay at home mom, so I’m almost always home. Apart from grocery shopping, minor errands, church on Sundays, or the rare trip to families, we are home all the time. Dogs that stay with us will have pretty much constant companionship and attention. We will be available for drop offs everyday except most of Sunday. Sunday evenings will be open though. Dogs that love a family environment will thrive here. We are usually up for the day around 7:00 am. My son loves dogs and will happily have a full conversation with them. He has grown up around many dogs because my mom has dogs and is a seasoned rover sitter herself. My husband works in the evenings so dogs will probably stay up and hang out with me as we unwind. We have a fenced in backyard so I can sit on our deck and let the dogs run, play, and potty easily and frequently. We live on a very quiet and friendly Cul-de-sac in the mountains of West Virginia, near Winchester. Dogs that come here will have a peaceful stay and have a lot of fun!
“Our pup had a great time and felt right at home! He enjoyed hanging out with the family (human and canine). Cindy was very communicative during his stay, and we enjoyed seeing pictures of their walks plus playtime and snuggles.”

“Alexsys took great care of my elderly cat who has medical issues. I was so nervous about going away and leaving him, and it was nice to have peace of mind that he was getting the attention and care that he needs. Alexsys was very accommodating and communicative, and I am glad we found her!”

“Bella is an amazing Pet Sitter and dog groomer! This is the first time anyone has ever kept my Pom so I was a little nervous. All those nerves were put to reset the moment we met and you assured me my puppy was in good hands. I appreciate all the messages and photos you sent. These are some of the best photos I have of my puppy! I will definitely book you again and recommend you to outer pet owners.”

“Kalley is an amazing sitter. She took awesome pictures and updated me daily on how my baby was doing. Thank you so much Kalley. We’ll be booking with again soon!”

“Heather is absolutely amazing! We’ve never left one of our dogs with anyone outside of family and it was so nice to see they had a blast and made themselves feel right at home. She is flexible, quick response time and has plenty of room for our dogs to run and play, also meeting some new friends with their dogs. We will keep our dogs going to Heather anytime we leave town and she is available.”

“I can’t say enough good things about how well Maya was cared for. The night before I dropped her off, I had taken Maya on a hike, and in hindsight, not checking her thoroughly for ticks afterward wasn’t the smartest decision on my part. The morning after her first night with Whitney, she discovered that Maya had a significant number of ticks on her. She immediately texted me to let me know what was going on, especially since she had a two-year-old and other dogs in the house and understandably needed to be careful. I was traveling and tried to arrange for friends to pick Maya up, but unfortunately, I couldn’t make that happen. She could easily have told me I needed to find another solution, but instead, she went completely above and beyond. She went out, got tick shampoo and treatment, gave Maya a thorough bath, dealt with the ticks, and made sure she was comfortable and well cared for. It was a stressful situation that she didn’t create, but she handled it with so much patience, responsibility, and genuine care for Maya. Being away, it meant a lot knowing that someone was willing to step up and take care of her when I couldn’t be there. I’m incredibly grateful and would absolutely trust her with Maya again. Highly recommend Whitney. 🙏🏽”

“Gabby was great with our pup! This was our first experience using Rover and we couldn’t be more pleased. She sent us text and picture updates daily which was SO nice! It made it easier to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing our pup was well taken care of.”

“Rosie just loves staying with Allison so I took my grumpy old man Tumbles too. He had a great time and I didnt worry one bit while they stayed over night with her. Book with her, you won't regret it@”

“This was my first time leaving my 8 month Cockapoo Phoebe with a sitter. After reading reviews about Beth on line & then talking to her by phone, I felt confident my little friend would be in good hands - and she was. She had 1-2 other dogs to play with which helped socialize her & provide much needed play time. Beth is obviously very knowledgeable about dogs and, as a certified trainer, knows many simple but effective ways of handling dogs. I feel sure that Phoebe had excellent care and warm and loving attention while at Beth’s. I would definitely call on Beth again.”

About: Hi there, my name is Kristina and I’ve just recently moved to the Winchester area! Caring for animals has always been one of the greatest joys in my life. With years of experience, looking after pets of all ages, personalities and needs I’ve built a reputation for being reliable, attentive and genuinely invested in each animals wellbeing. One of the biggest advantages of working with me is that I work from home full-time, this means that your pets will never be left unattended and I am able to give them consistent attention to ensure they feel safe and comfortable throughout the day. When your pet is with me, they’re treated like family whether it’s daily walks, playtime medication reminders or just offering affection and companionship, I make sure every animal feels loved and understood. I look forward to giving your pets the dependable, worry free care they deserve. I currently work from home Monday through Friday. I have the ability to visit your home and ensure your pets are doing well and to provide them any enrichment they may need whether it be walks or play. I currently live in townhouse with my husband and our dog, named Gorgi (Gorgonzola), we go on frequent walks in the morning afternoon and evening. We keep a clean home and have a basement that lets out into a small backyard. I have one X-Large kennel if your pup prefers to sleep in one as well as a puppy pad corner for those late night bathroom breaks. I would be happy to provide a tour our home upon request.
“I had to leave on a business and Lisette was able to look after my cat Ogden. Communication was quick and simple, and Lisette was very accommodating . I have no problem recommending this sitter.”

“Linda did an amazing job watching our little pup Bentley. We were gone for 5 days and she accommodated us with even picking him up a bit early. Bentley has only been with us for 4 months so we weren't sure how it would go. It went amazing. So much so he even looked a little sad to be leaving Linda. She gave updates even when I wasn't able to ask or get right back with her. Bentley has a bit of a finicky stomach and has zero problems since we brought him home. Linda is very kind and attentive not only to the needs of Bentley but ours too. We definitely will be back when we plan our family trip next year. I can't tell her thank you enough. She truly put all my worries at ease. No question that she was the perfect pick for us and Bentley. Thank you again Linda!”

“If you're ever looking for a place for your fur kids to stay while you go out of town, I highly recommend Laura. I have 2 neurotic cats; 1 has CH that does not like getting confined in crates/small place and the other is spicy/moody. The stay was short with a (somewhat) unusual request, but Laura took them all in stride and went the extra mile to look after Sam and Cloud. Definitely one of my best rover experience and would not hesitate to ask her again in the future.”

“We are extremely pleased with the care Hailey provided for my dog, Milo. She was attentive, and you could tell she genuinely cared about his well-being. Milo seemed happy and well-looked after when I picked him up. Hailey kept us updated throughout with messages and photos, which gave us peace of mind. The place was clean, and Milo had plenty of space to play. I would highly recommend Hailey for anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
