“We can’t say enough wonderful things about Kathleen! She was absolutely amazing, and we never had a single worry about Brady while we were away. He is part of our family, so knowing he was in such loving, caring, and capable hands meant the world to us. It gave us total peace of mind knowing he was being well cared for and loved while we were not with him. We are very grateful for Kathleen and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their doggie!”

“Katherine and Jacob did an incredible job taking care of my dog! They provided daily updates and shared photos, showing me that he was having a wonderful time. Their updates were thoughtful and intentional, which reassured me that he was in good hands. I also appreciated their flexibility with drop-off and pick-up times and the opportunity for a meet-and-greet before his stay. I highly recommend them! 🩷”

“Sara is the best! She treated our dog with so much love and attention. He was sad to leave! Sara was a life saver and swooped in to care for our dog when our other plans fell through. She accommodated our flight change and communicated throughout the stay with some of the best pics we have of our dog. Thank you, Sara! We’ve already booked another stay.”

About: I love dogs and try to include them in everything I do, hikes, farm chores, etc. I’m studying to become a vet so I can’t commit to my own dog long term. However, I have been fostering puppies and caring for pets for years. I specialize in puppy care, potty training, commands and socializing. I am currently taking classes through Montana State. However I space out my schedule to have plenty of time to care for your pets. I don’t love when dogs are left inside for long periods of time and prioritize getting them out of the house for the majority of the day. I live on a 20 acre farm property where your pet will have plenty of room to roam. There is a pond on property if you pet loves swimming. There is a small portion of the property that is fenced, however due to having mules on the property, I will never leave your dog outside unattended. We have a super energetic friendly pup who always loves to play if your pet is up for it. I love hiking, running, walking and try to include the pups in all of that.
“Do you know that feeling when you leave town and you leave your dog with someone and you have no idea how it’s going to go, so you can’t really relax and enjoy yourself? Yeah, I thankfully never had that feeling when I left my dog Blue with Christa and Marek this weekend. ☺️ From the moment I met them, I knew my fluffy buddy would be in excellent and capable hands for the time we were away. They give off such a positive and warm energy, and our dog immediately gravitated towards them, even right after their introduction. Christa was informative and sent me pictures to update me on how Blue was doing. They also did a great job of keeping Blue active and taking him on walks because we all know a tired dog is a happy dog! Their dog is also a sweetheart, and I’m sure Blue was happy to have a buddy. We are grateful to have met them and would love to use them sometime in the near future! Thank you both for taking such excellent care of our fluffy buddy!”

“Emma was an amazing sitter for my pup, Crouton! I had to go out of town last minute for a few days and Emma was thankfully available. Crouton got along really well with her pup, Nova. I got ample updates and pictures. Crouton seemed so happy during her stay, I would definitely rebook with Emma again!”

“Tori was a great find. I had two dog sitters to bridge week vacation and Tori went beyond normal service by helping with pick up and drop off with dog sitter #1. Ladybug was comfortable in her place.”

“Jennifer did a great job making my dog comfortable in a new place. She has a great outside place where he loves to spend time. The updates were great and reassuring We would take Colter to Jennifer again and will.”

“We are incredibly grateful for Kelly and the care she gave our hard‑of‑hearing, one‑eyed dog. She watched him for eight days over a holiday on very short notice, handled his twice‑daily medication, and showed genuine kindness throughout. Her photo updates kept us at ease, and it was clear she treated him like family. We truly appreciate her.”

“I would totally recommend Margaret for a pet sitting… She sent me many photos and updates as to how my little Daisy May was doing… I don’t think I could find a better sitter and I will use Margaret again and again!”

“Allie was super responsive, friendly and did a meet and great. Coco loved being with her dogs and immediately ran in to her yard and felt right at home. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Thank you Allie!”
“Danielle was wonderful with Melke! She kept me up to date and sent lots of pictures. Melke was so happy when I got home & I could tell she had the best time & was well taken care of! I definitely recommend Danielle & I for sure use her in the future!”

“Great communication & I can tell Patsy truly cared about Olly during his stay. All the pups she had were super friendly & Olly is worn out from all the fun he had over the weekend.”

About: I’ve lived with a plethora of different dogs for longer than I can remember, and have nearly decade-long experience as a former dog owner myself. I’m familiar with small and large dogs alike, have put up with many mean dogs in the past, and I have the general know-how to care for older dogs and sick dogs. While I am a newcomer to Rover, I intend to serve my client’s and their dog’s needs with the utmost care and attention, and any dog I’m to watch over will receive as many walks and games as they so please. I’m currently serving as a volunteer for Heart of the Valley, and while I’m usually working 2-4 hours every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, that schedule is incredibly flexible and can be adjusted any which way in order to tend to a dog’s needs as long as bookings are made a day or two ahead of time. I have a very spacious yard, however it is not fenced. Dog’s can easily be leashed for potty breaks if necessary. Indoors, dogs can freely roam the house, but not without someone always keeping an eye on them, and they’ll be fed either twice a day or per the client’s request. In between they’ll receive all the attention and playtime they want, as well as at least one walk a day.
“Nicole was amazing! Everything was so easy from start to finish. Great communication, lots of photo updates, and our dogs were so happy and relaxed when we got home. We’d absolutely book with Nicole again! Thank you so much!! 🤗”

“Goose had such a fun time staying with Alexandra and her pups. She was so helpful in pick up and drop off when car troubles made it difficult and she sent updates and cute pics throughout the week. We will definitely be boarding with Alexandra again!”

“Finn provided excellent care for my dog, Titan! A major perk was the large, well-maintained backyard with solid fencing—absolutely perfect for a husky who loves being outside in cold weather while still staying safe and secure. I’d highly recommend Finn, especially for cold-loving dogs.”

The median cost per night for dog boarding in Atkins is $55
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Atkins
Parker and his girlfriend Trinity are the absolute best dog sitters I could’ve hoped for! They took the time to come over and meet my pup before having her for a week- she instantly loved them and they really made it a point to get to know her/her needs. I was at ease knowing that they would care for her as if she were their own. They sent updates while i was gone and just went above and beyond while she was with them. It was such a weight off my shoulders to not have to worry at all about my sweet pup while away.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
97% of sitters in Atkins can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Atkins home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Atkins.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Atkins sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
