Last minute pinch Laura made it happen ! She is so flexible and scheduling and responses were so quick and efficient. She was so loving and caring for our 18 week old Bernese mountain dog. After the walk she would send updates and pictures of our little pup 🐾I really appreciated that as a dog mom ! Would highly recommend having Laura take care of your fur babies !!

Ava was great with our dogs. She was very understanding on their needs and excitement. She provided updates and when the dogs didn’t want to walk, she still played with them. We will definitely continue to use her for any future needs.

About: I'm 39 years old, married with two kiddos who go to school. I’m looking to help a few families who would like me to check on their pets while they are away. I’ve cared for pets my whole adult life, ranging from small breed to large breed dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters. I’m currently a stay at home mom, and I fit caring for pets in when the kiddos are at school. I'm typically available during the day during the week but can also make time on the weekends when needed. Safety is my first priority. I always ensure that fences are secure or a lead is in place before letting a pet outdoors. We will establish what your requirements are before we begin care.

About: I have had dogs my whole life. My favorite thing to do with them is play and walk and let them enjoy nature! I just recently adopted a rescue puppy that is 4 months old and have a 13 year old senior dog. I love dogs of all ages and energy levels! I am a stay at home mom and both of my kids are in school during the day. I’m looking to find some furry friends to spend my day with. I treat my dogs like I treat my kids and make sure they’re cared for. We play, go outside, go on walks, get treats, and go to the dog park. I watch and listen to them to see how much energy they have that day.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 11. From running over to let out the neighbor’s dog, to pet sitting for friends & family members while they’re on vacation. I grew up in a home with two dogs, both of which I’ve helped care for and go out of my way to spoil with love. Fun fact: I’ve also raised and cared for goats, rabbits, cats, turtles, frogs, and fish. I am a full-time student, but I would love to care for (& walk!) your furry companion(s) in my spare time. I’m a firm believer that the best therapists have wagging tails! I recently adopted a German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever and I can assure you that I will care for your pet with the same enthusiasm and warmth as I do her.

Wow! Zoe is tremendous! I was very hesitant in using Rover with my best buddy Utah because he was getting walked every day by a family friend since he was a puppy. He is now going to be 4 years old in July. The dog walker he had decided to retire from her daily walks with Utah. I had to find someone great to walk Utah on a daily basis. After reading the reviews for Zoe and also seeing that she lived fairly close, I decided to reach out to her. She has been great. She asked great questions up front about Utah and what my needs were caring for him and what she may need to watch out for. Utah absolutely adores her. Zoe has been reliable and has communicated great with me. She lets me know when she arrives, she lets me know how Utah was during the walk and her visit time with him, she lets me know if he peered or pooped, and she sends me pictures of Utah while on their walk. She really likes Utah as well. I think both Utah and Zoe look forward to their daily walks. Zoe is trustworthy, mature, reliable, thoughtful, and caring. She is everything you could possibly want to care for your furry companion that you love so much. I 100% recommend Zoe without hesitation.

About: I have always had pets in my home growing up. My mother has a farm with animals big and small. I promise to love and care for your pet as you would. Pets are like members of the family in my eyes. I have had cats for over 15 yrs in my home and I have 2 dogs now (one is a senior) and the other is a younger dog (a little over 2 yrs old). Both dogs have received training from me since puppies. I will also babysit / care for my family member's pets as well if they travel. Right now my schedule is flexible. I can work part-time or full time depending on what kind of care you need. Whether you are needing something on a regular basis or sporadic care, a dog walk here-and-there, medication care, overnight care. I will look to accommodate all of it. I will, of course, respect your home should your pets need care there. I have a backyard, but it isn't fenced, both my dogs have electric collars that keep them in our yard. I do have a crate if need be. If your neighborhood isn't conducive for walking I live in neighborhood with nearby parks, schools, walking trails, etc. and can take them there or even to a dog park if they are friendly with other dogs.

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
