“Kendra was amazing with my dog Winter! She was a great house guest and cleaned up after herself and beyond. I got several pictures of Winter and prompt replies when I would check in. I will definitely use her every time I need someone to come stay.”

“Tara was great with Bernie. He is a big dog and can get into mischief. We were able to all go on a family vacation thanks to finding Tara. Her communication is 5 stars and she followed the directions for Bernie to the letter. We appreciate the great care Bernie had and will be using Tara again!”

About: Hi, I’m Ella, and pet care isn’t something I just do, it’s a huge part of my identity and something I continue to explore as I pursue veterinary school! From the outgoing border collie to the chillest basset hound, I’m ready to take on whatever your fur-baby needs! 🎓 Schooling: Currently in undergrad pursuing a pre-veterinary degree—specializing in horses 🌻 Experience: Ran a pet care business since I was in middle school in my neighborhood. Currently training and studying horsemanship! 🐴 Critters: Horses, dogs, and cats I currently work as a horse trail guide and vet assistant. When I’m available, I can take requests both in the early morning, afternoon, and nighttime. 🏥 I treat every pet in my care with the same attention, compassion, and dedication that would give to my own pets. My goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Building trust with both pets and their owners is extremely important to me, and I strive to create a positive, stress-free environment where your pets can feel at safe.
“Cindy was great! Great communications and took excellent care and attention to my dog while I was away. Valentine got daily walks and play time; the pictures sent to me was very reassuring.”

“Vonnie is a blessing to us. Our girl has separation anxiety but she loves Vonnie. It allows us to be able to get away without worrying about Rosy being anxious and miserable”

“Cooper did an incredible job caring for our two dogs and our cat. He sent daily photo updates, took the dogs on their walks, and made sure everyone felt loved and well cared for. He even cleaned up the house before he left, which was such a thoughtful touch to come home to. We highly recommend Cooper for any pet‑sitting needs and look forward to booking with him again.”

“Katelyn watched my English Bulldog and Chocolate Lab while I was on vacation for several days. She took great care of my fur babies. She fed them, walked them, let them out several times, and gave them loves and pets. She sent good notes and several pictures and videos throughout the stay.”

“Joey was fantastic. She took our dogs on multiple walks and played with them in the yard. Joey sent us multiple pictures throughout her time with the dogs and gave us updates regularly. We will definitely use her in the future.”

“My experience in working with Taylor was excellent. Great communicator and most importantly cared for my 10yr lab while out in a work trip. Taylor went above and beyond what was required as she left the house spotless, and washed bedding and bathroom towels before leaving.”

About: I’ve take care of dogs my whole life. I’ve taken care of puppy’s to senior dogs. I groom, clean up, and shower them in love I work part time but have a bunch of free time to take care of dogs. I am commuting to college so when school starts but I still have plenty of time to take care of dogs I always show dogs love and give them space when needed. I have two dogs and many more before that, so I have experience with dog behavior
“Deann was so easy to book with and did a great job. I could tell from her meeting my pups that I had nothing to worry about. She sent us picture updates and the house looked like no one had even stayed there. We would defintiely ask Deann to come back again.”

About: I've lived with animals my entire life. Growing up, we had five dogs, four cats, bunnies and guinea pigs, snakes and lizards, fish, and chickens. Currently, while living at home in the summers, we have snakes, lizards, spiders, a cat, and three dogs, one of which is mine. My dog Winston is a service dog in training that my mom and I are owner-training. While I'm in no way a professional trainer, I can help with teaching or maintaining the basics with any dog. I'm currently home for the summer from school and waiting on an application for a part-time job. I am free most of the day right now, as I haven't started working yet. So, I can come over and take care of any pet's needs most any time. I can take care of your animals' needs any time, whether it's taking them on a walk, letting them outside, feeding, cleaning up, or playing with them. My dogs at home are crate trained, so if your dog also stays in a crate at certain points of the day or night, I can easily crate them.
About: With years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, I bring a well-rounded and deeply committed approach to pet care. I am the owner of Oh My Paws, a pet-sitting business I started during college, and have worked as a kennel technician, dog handler for Can Do Canines, and am currently completing an apprenticeship at a Humane Society. These roles have given me experience with a variety of temperaments, medical needs, and behavioral challenges. What truly sets me apart is my background in dog behavior and training. I am currently studying to earn my CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed) certification and have experience training service dogs through the Falcon Fetch program. This gives me a unique ability to understand body language, reduce stress in pets, and ensure a safe, enriching environment during their care. Pet care is a central part of my life and something I prioritize in my weekly routine. I have very open availability on weekends (Saturday–Sunday), and I’m also available on Mondays if needed. This flexibility allows me to provide consistent and dependable care, whether it’s for daily visits, overnights, or last-minute bookings. Because I run my own pet-sitting business and am actively involved in training and animal welfare work, I structure my schedule around the pets I care for. I take the time to provide each animal with individualized attention, exercise, enrichment, and a calm, safe environment. Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, safety and trust are always my top priorities. I begin with a detailed intake to learn about each pet’s routine, medical needs, triggers, and preferences, and I tailor my care accordingly. I use positive reinforcement and clear communication to build trust with animals, helping them feel safe and comfortable. In a client’s home, I maintain their pet’s usual routines as closely as possible to reduce stress. I’m respectful of the home environment, leave things exactly as I found them, and provide regular updates with photos and notes for peace of mind.
About: I have been a CVT for 18 years, actively working at an emergency/specialty clinic. I can care for all ages and sizes of dogs and cats. I have a part time job that is flexible, my main focus is pet care and services. I am available most days and hours. I am pet sitting or caring for pets on a daily basis. I will utilize your house to care for your pets so they are more comfortable and less stressed. I will follow your daily routines to keep them feeling secure.
“Courtney was very sweet and responded quickly to messages. There was a misunderstanding with her work schedule that she would not be in the home for 11 hours. I assumed she would come at lunch to let them out. Never assume - had to call neighbor to let dogs out 2 days as I did not want my dogs left that long without a potty break. Otherwise, all was good.”

About: We recently moved back to our roots to a spot right off South St. In Oconomowoc. We had our dog sitting business in San Diego, CA and will miss our furry friends so much! My husband and I both love animals very much and have the perfect set-up to host. We enjoy morning and evening cuddles and allow dogs on the couch and bed :) We will take care of your pup just the same as we care for our own. We have a 4 year old mutt that we adopted 3 years ago who has brought so much joy to our life! She loves to play and enjoys the dog park/hanging around other dogs as much as she can. She loves walks around the lake as I am sure your pup will too! We both have experience taking care of other dogs and have dog sit for many of our friends and family members for extended periods of time when they are out of town. We can provide pictures as little or as often as you would like. Excited to meet your furry friend soon! I currently work 4 days of the week and have every Thursday off. My husband works remotely from home so he is able to tend to your pups needs all day. This schedule works great for our pups that need frequent potty breaks and attention. We have long leashes attached to our back deck so the dogs can enjoy the sun and being outdoors as much or as little as they would like without having to worry about them wandering off! Moxie loves basking in the sun and shade out there as I am sure yours would too! Water bowls always provided and refreshed as needed.

FAQs for House Sitting - Ashippun
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,048 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ashippun. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ashippun walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ashippun maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ashippun choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ashippun. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
