“Communicative and professional! Put my mind at ease being away from my baby Gizmo in a new state for so long, but he fit in just fine and was very timely with responses! Would love to use again when we come up next year!”

“This is our first time using JOE. We have two standard poodles, and they absolutely had a great time and he did a fantastic job caring for them. We will definitely use him again in the future.”

“I had the good fortune of finding Deanna! She has established a safe and dog friendly haven that caters to the enjoyment of many breeds. Deanna goes above and beyond to understand the preferences and needs of your fur baby, ensuring a caring experience. I not only recommend but will use her services again.”

“Lauren and family are so great to my beloved Rocco. I was able to be away and did not worry about his care. I knew he was in good hands which was such a peace of mind! I will be rebooking and encourage anyone who wants to be away from their pet with no worries to do so as well!”

“Arya is great with my baby Bryce! He even trained him how to walk off-leash! He provided plenty of play time and made sure to send plenty videos. My dog gets really excited when we pull in the driveway!! Thanks for taking such good care of Bryce!!”

“We were probably more anxious than the dogs to leave them with a stranger! This was our first time needing boarding after adopting Tiko 4yrs ago, and Bella 10yrs ago. We usually have at least one family member who stays behind for the fur babies. Bill was quick to respond, and allowed us a meet and greet before booking the stay. Their property us beautiful, with a huge fenced back yard, surrounded by cows and horses. They provided photo updates during our stay, and our pups seemed to genuinely enjoy their vacation from home. They were well cared for. We wouldn't hesitate to book again, if ever boarding is needed!”

“Our boys were so well taken care of and accepted as members of the family. We received regular pics and notes about our digs that allowed us to stay connected but be assured they were happy. The home was clean and super dog friendly. We would definitely hire again !”

“Elizabeth did a wonderful job taking care of Sofie. She even got Sofie to go on a walk, which she usually will do only with me! Elizabeth sent frequent photos as this was Sofie's first time staying with her and her boys. The whole family was very loving and caring towards Sofie.”

“Taylor was amazing! She was flexible when our pickup time was pushed. Benny is an anxious boy sometimes but came home so happy like he’d never been somewhere new.”

“Amy provided outstanding care for my dog, Kallee, while I was in the hospital and then recovering at a rehabilitation facility. My stay was longer than expected, and Amy was so understanding and accommodating. She treated Kallee as if she were her own dog, giving her so much love and attention. Kallee was happy, well cared for, and I had complete peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. Amy even brought Kallee to visit me at the rehabilitation facility, which was such a thoughtful gesture and truly lifted my spirits. I am so grateful for her kindness, compassion, and exceptional care. I will definitely use Amy again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet like family. Melodie”

“Ashleigh was wonderful with my senior dog. He is very timid and from the pictures, he seemed to be right at home with her. Made me very happy he had a safe, secure and loving place to stay while I was traveling.”

“Our pup loved staying with Emily! They were very flexible with our pick up time since we were coming back from a volleyball tourney and weren't exactly sure what time we would arrive. I would highly recommend.”

“Ivy, our 10 month old Great Dane, loved her weekend stay while we had our wedding. She was so exhausted when she got home from her weekend with Cristi! We appreciate you handling our overgrown puppy and for sending me updates during the weekend on how she was doing.”

“Angie was wonderful with our one year old mini bernedoodle Reggie. This was only the second time he stayed in someone’s house and the first time with Angie ! She’s a happy, very positive person and gave Reggie lots of TLC while we were away. She also had to administer pills to him and she wasn’t bothered by that at all. We plan to use her services again in January 2026.”

“Scott and Katrina were wonderful! They communicated with us throughout Kona’s stay and sent lots of photos and videos, which we really appreciated. Kona loved playing with their dogs and having their beautiful backyard to run around in. Scott and Katrina were both so sweet with her, and it was obvious that Kona felt happy and comfortable with them. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!”

“Tharatip & Daniel did a fantastic job sitting for Chewie! They sent several pics and videos over the weekend while they watched her. They were treating her like part of their family which is what we were looking for. Thanks again!”

“Leslie watched our 8yr old Golden Retriever in her home for the weekend. Our experience was absolutely outstanding! She has the perfect fenced in backyard for your dog to roam. She goes over how to care for your dog by sending a Q & A of your dog needs. She makes sure each dog is up to date on all shots and vaccinations and is able to administer medications if needed. The introduction to her home was just as fabulous! She has a meet and greet with the whole family and her adorable Golden, Shiloh. She takes every necessary step to ensure not only your fur baby is safe but is safe to have in her home. Our Golden even slept next to their bed at night because of her separation anxiety, she truly treats your pet as her own! I will be using her services again and will recommend her to anyone who would like to have their pet loved and cared for while you are away.”

“Tina was great with Smokey . I was nervous about leaving him but Smokey warmed up to her right away . She sent pictures of him and let me know how he was doing. I will book her again.”

“I had a phenomenal experience with Joy! She made the process so easy, sent photo updates, and really loved on Kisa while I was away. Without hesitation I would book with her again for our next trip!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ash
Jamie is the best dog sitter you could ask for! She sends multiple photos a day of your fur babies, which makes being away from them so much easier. You can truly tell that the dogs feel right at home—they get lots of playtime, cuddles, and attention. Honestly, I think my dogs love being at her house more than they love being at mine! 😂 We’ve used Jamie twice now, both times for about a week, and I felt completely relaxed knowing our dogs were in such good hands. She takes amazing care of them and treats them like her own. I can’t recommend her enough! ❤️

We are so happy we found Arya! Highly recommend this sitter. It was a last minute overnight stay for our pup Kenai, and we needed someone with good experience of big dogs. Arya was perfect! He sent regular videos, knew exactly how to manage Kenai, and his wealth of experience and knowledge was clear from the advice he gave us and how happy Kenai was. I love how he is disciplined with the dogs and Kenai had the chance to play with Arya's big dogs too. We have picked up a tired puppy today which is exactly what we hoped for! Thanks Arya!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Ash home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Ash.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Ash sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
