“Syieve is great! She is kind and gentle with my dog, takes him on walks in the evenings and also allows him to cuddle up next to her at night while house sitting. She also send me intermittent assuring pictures to calm my anxiety for being away from my dog. She is definitely on my speed-dial to continue to take care of my Tito. Thanks Syieve.”

“Very friendly, professional and punctual. She went above and beyond. Felt at ease knowing she was watching my pups. Will definitely be contacting her again when I travel. My dogs responded to her well. Definitely recommend!”

“Sally is wonderful! Our three dogs run to greet her when she comes to watch them for us. She communicates with us everyday we are away and lets us know how our dogs are doing. She sends pictures of our pets daily which helps me not miss them as much when we are away. She graciously checked our mail, brought in packages that were delivered and even took the trash can to the curb for us on trash day. I always use Sally and highly recommend her for dog sitting. She is an angel and will love and care for your pets as if they are her own.”

“Justyce did a great job with our pets. They seemed tired out when we got home. Even with a small scheduling mistake they were willing to work with us to take care of all of our animals.”

“Natasha was amazing! She gave our pets so much love and attention while we were away. We appreciated the photos so much! It was a relief coming home to happy and relaxed pups!”

“Very happy with Rachel’s care! She was super flexible with my timing since I was driving and didn’t know when exactly I was going to get back and was sure to send me pictures of kallie and let me know how she was during thunderstorms.”

About: I've had a variety of pets over the years! Currently I have three cats, and one snake. I am well versed in caring for dogs, cats, snakes, birds, and isopods. I'm better with animals than I am humans a lot of the time hahaha. I also have two kids, one just left for college, and the other is 13. Currently I have a part-time job as a preschool teacher. Being part time leaves me with a lot of flexibility for care schedules. I will do my best to make sure that I meet all scheduling needs of each client, and openly communicate any conflict in advance. I care for animals however they need. Each animal is an individual and deserves to be treated as such. It's important to me to listen, and follow directions provided, as well as assessing each situation and the animal. My goal is to make sure that I am giving each pet the proper care. That can only happen with open communication with the pet parents.
“Greer stayed at our home and took care of our sweet pup while we were out of town for a few days. She did a fantastic job and we will be having Greer over again for our next trip!”

About: I have experience dog sitting and housesitting for families in my community for approximately two years now. I have a strong passion of taking care of our furry friends and would love to help you keep yours safe and, most importantly, loved! I currently work, but I have plenty of time to take care of your pets before and after work and on the weekends! Check my calendar for my most up-to-date availability! I am extremely careful as to not disrupt your own household while taking care of your pets! I am a very tidy and responsible person, so the safety of your pets, including your home, is my top priority.
“Stephanie was incredible! My dogs loved spending time with her. She is honest, trustworthy, reliable and goes above and beyond to make sure your pets are cared for in your absence. I will absolutely book with her again. Truly a pleasure to work with and you can relax knowing your animals are in great hands.”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, from playful puppies to sweet senior dogs. I’m patient, reliable, and always attentive to each pet’s unique needs—whether that means sticking to a strict medication schedule, handling energetic walks, or offering extra cuddles for anxious pets. I also have experience with basic training and positive reinforcement, which helps keep pets engaged and well-behaved. What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and my commitment to providing a safe, loving environment they can feel comfortable in while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I make sure to plan my schedule so I can give each pet the time, attention, and care they deserve—whether that means early morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles. I’m flexible and happy to adjust to your pet’s routine to keep them comfortable and happy while you’re away. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in yours, their safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I create a calm, pet-friendly environment free of hazards, and I follow any specific instructions you provide to keep your pet on their regular routine. I take the time to build trust with each pet through gentle interactions and consistent care. I’m also attentive to behavior and health changes, and I always communicate openly with pet parents to ensure peace of mind.
“Hannah did a fantastic job with our old girl, Sophie! She was very communicative and sent pics throughout the weekend while we were away! I look forward to having her dog sit again!”

“They did the job taken care of my dog. I left my house spotless and my dogs were happy. I will definitely use them again. They are five star in my book. A really nice home and star linens and towels.”

About: I love dogs, and I get along well with people everyone tends to like me. I grew up around dogs, and at home we had three Golden Retrievers. My family has even sold dogs at times, so I’m comfortable handling and caring for all kinds of dogs. I’m usually available from 2:00 PM until nighttime. We can discuss and arrange something based on your specific needs! I hope I can meet both your needs and your dog’s needs. I will be taking care of your dog in the comfort of your home, providing attentive, loving, and reliable care. My goal is to ensure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for at all times.
“This was our second time using Tracy and he was just as fantastic this time. We had an overnight trip and needed someone to stay in our home with our dog and two cats and he kept us updated and the pets were happy and safe with him there. I would definitely book Tracy again in the future.”
“We just can't say enough great things about Morgan!! Our girls love Morgan and even though they are happy when we get back home, they whine after she leaves because they miss her too!! I feel like Morgan really cares and treats our babies as if they were her own. 😊”

About: My goal is to give you peace of mind in knowing your beloved pets are well taken care of and safe! I grew up with dogs, and I have had my own for over 15 years! I have also worked with an ortho vet specialist providing vet tech care and surgery assistance, and have given my own dogs their vaccines and medications in that practice, so if medicines are needed I can administer them. I have done drop-in visits since I was in high schools for friends and for neighbors, all of which were very happy with the regular pupdates and quality of care (both with the home and the dog!). I love dogs, and I will do everything possible to make sure they are safe and secure while I am in your home and while on walks! I always worry about my own dogs darting through an open door or slipping out of a collar or harness, so rest assured this is something I take serious precaution on! I have a safety strap that I can attach to the dog in the event a collar or harness breaks or slips off. If theres a potty accident in your home, I will make sure it is properly cleaned/sterilized and clean off the pet if necessary. I have a high standard of care for my own dogs and that extends to yours. I work full time in downtown Montgomery and am off around 5. If you need care during the week, it will be after 5 pm when I can provide it! Weekends I am available anytime. If you have a fenced in yard, I will check the gates and the perimeter every time I come by to make sure there are no new openings or places your pet could find a way out. I will supervise them the entire time they are outside, and when going in I will make sure that paws are clean and they dont track in dirt or mud! If they require a leashed walk outside, I will ensure their collar is secure and the correct fit to ensure they cannot slip out- I will also add the safety strap that hangs loose on them in case the collar breaks. If there is a harness, I will check the fit and make sure the dog cannot slip out, and then use the same safety strap to prevent escapes. I can bring my own leashes (retractable, bungee, plain) or use yours if you prefer. I also have collars and a 3 point harness I can bring if needed for the walk or visit. Any instructions you leave for feeding I will follow and make sure youre notified if any changes to their eating habits occur. I value transparency and consistency above all else, and there will never be something happening with your pet that you are not immediately informed of! In the event of an emergency, I will take your pet to their vet (if open) or the ER vet and call you as well. You will receive pictures throughout the drop in visit, notification of when I arrive and when I leave so you are never left wondering! I love taking pictures on walks as well, so you will get some lovely pictures of your pup!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arlington
Morgan took such great care of my sweet Freya and my home. She honestly is one of the nicest and sweetest souls. Freya is pretty slow with new people, but took to her almost instantly. We are so lucky to have found her and will be using her services in the future. I loved receiving photos of their time together.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arlington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arlington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
