About: I have been caring for dogs since 2016. I have experience with high maintenance dogs that require special medications and help going potty outside. I have time to play, snuggle, and take dogs for hikes. I have experience potty training animals and have been successful potty training several seniors. I prefer small to medium sized dogs, but I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes. They must be okay with small dogs, as I have two Chihuahuas of my own. I allow my dogs on the bed, but if you prefer your dog not be on the bed, that can be arranged. I currently don't work and therefore can spend most of my time with the animals, aside from my regular chores, like cleaning house and shopping. My home doesn't have a fence so your dog will be on a leash when outside at all times, including when we hike. Length of hikes will be based on your dog's endurance level. I always carry plenty of water. I am very attentive to animal language and watch for behaviors like heavy breathing, excessive panting, lip licking, excessive yawning, or other obvious signs of distress such as limping or lethargy. I watch for these behaviors during all activities, even if we are simply relaxing. When we set up an appointment, I will want to know what to do during an emergency, beyond calling you. I will want their vaccine status, as I will only accept vaccinated dogs unless they are too young. I will also want to know how often they hike and for what distance. If they are crate trained, I will need their crate. We can work out the details, depending on your dog's needs. I am very flexible and I want to do what is right for you and your dog.

“This was our first Rover experience and we couldn’t be happier. Kelly was outstanding to work with: communicative, flexible, cheerful, and dog competent. We will use her again, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly. Thank you Kelly!!!”

About: Hello Everyone! Our names are Nicole and Cody. Nicole has been surrounded by and caring for animals since she can remember! She used to work at a zoo for 6 years before her time in the military. We both grew up with dogs and cats ever since we could walk. She has volunteered at professional dog shows and helped train K-9 dogs for search and rescue. We both find ourselves preferring to be surrounded by animals if given the option! We are both retired from the Navy and doing what we love full time now! We also like to offer grooming if you choose to stay with us! Rates will vary depending on size and what you are wanting done. We do have a doodle of our own and can provide photos of previous cuts we have done! Please remember we are not professional groomers though! We would love to help if needing anything from just nails trimmed to a bath or a haircut or all of the above! I hope that you all will give us a chance to pet sit for you. We can't wait to meet everyone and all your fur babies! Shoot us a message if there are any questions :) Nicole and Cody are both retired from the Navy and will have ample time to love on your fur babies and care for all of them as our own! Any requests off island we are open to discussing but will be a little more difficult depending on dates! The service area map on this app does not do very well on letting me select a specific area so I just wanted to clear that up for anyone!

About: I grew up with three dogs and have tons of experience with puppies, seniors, and everything in between. I’m super active and love taking dogs for long, energizing walks or even runs if they’re up for it. Whether your pup needs a solid workout or just gentle company, I’ll tailor the outing to their needs. Plus I’m happy to brush, clean up, and give them all the love they deserve. I’m a student currently off for the summer with a totally open schedule. I don’t have any pets of my own right now, so I’m looking for creative and fun ways to spend time with the creatures I love. Whether it’s walks, play, or just hanging out, I’m happy to give your pet the time and attention they deserve. I have a car and can easily drive to nearby dog parks for some safe off-leash fun, or I’m happy to walk your dog on leash around your neighborhood or in any enclosed area. I’m also more than happy to play with your dog in your fenced yard. Your pet’s safety and comfort always comes first.

About: In my apartment complex, I’ve become the resident dog walker/sitter. Im a huge animal lover, and have been the go-to care taker for friends and family when they vacation. I am available all evenings and most mornings for pet-sitting. I work short morning shifts in a restaurant and work shifts tend to last about 4-6 hours. Weekends can be up to 8 hours. My schedule is very flexible and I’m willing to work with different schedules. I will not be providing services in my home because of my own old tabby rescue cat. He has anxiety and doesn’t handle other animals well.

“Sawyer has been great with our dog, she walks him on a regular basis. She is always on time, great communication and willingness to work around our schedule. She respects our home space and ensures our dog is taken care of.”

“Elias is a superstar walker. Always on time and they took Pica for some fantastic walks and swims. We loved the little stats report at the end of each walk too, it's a nice way to stay connected while we're away. I totally recommend Elias and will happily book with them again.”

About: Moving to Victoria September 1st, currently looking for new drop-in sits and dog walking jobs! Make a new rover account with my referral code TALEAH54976 to get $20 off your first sit! I am a responsible and dedicated pet sitter with a passion for animals of all kinds. With a strong background in dog training, agility, and volunteer work at a farm animal sanctuary, I offer a comprehensive set of skills and experiences to ensure the safety and well-being of your furry friends. Currently, I reside with my family and share my home with one large breed dog and four cats, all of whom are rescues. Having been surrounded by animals throughout my life, I am well-acquainted with their needs and behaviors. Additionally, I have extensive experience in the pet food industry, having worked part-time at a couple Bosley's By Pet Valu stores, once owned by my family before their recent retirement. Throughout my pet sitting journey, I have cared for a wide variety of animals, ranging from dogs and cats to birds, rats, rabbits, goats, sheep, cows, donkeys, pigs, chickens, roosters, ducks, turkeys, and fish. I am comfortable handling any mess or challenge that may arise, and I am equipped with the skills to administer medications when necessary. Rest assured, I am well-prepared to handle any situation that comes my way. In terms of dog training, I have around four years of non-competitive Dog Agility Training experience. If your dog has specific training in place, I will diligently uphold those habits, ensuring consistency and avoiding any disruption to their routine. I firmly believe in positive reinforcement and will always treat your dog with gentleness and kindness. Unwanted behaviors will be redirected to more desirable ones, often accompanied by treats or play. I prioritize building a relationship of trust and understanding with each animal I care for. To provide peace of mind, I am available for a complimentary meet and greet prior to the pet-sit. This allows us to discuss your specific requirements and ensure a seamless transition for your pets. While I am based in the Fraser Valley, I am willing to travel to the island as well, provided transportation arrangements are made and ferry fees are covered. Pet sitting is not just a job for me; it involves my true passion. As an introverted individual, I dedicate my time to staying home and engaging in activities such as reading, embroidering, and editing photos on my computer. This means I can be fully present for your pets and accommodate their needs. I understand the importance of adhering to established routines to make your pets feel comfortable and secure in their environment. As a quiet and non-intrusive individual, I am respectful of your space and privacy. I do not smoke, drink, or engage in partying. If you prefer a serene and tranquil environment for your pets, rest assured that I will provide just that. For those that it is relevant to, I am Vegan and will not be eating meat/dairy/eggs in your home. Outside of pet sitting, I enjoy long walks or hikes and picnics in the park. So, if your furry friend craves exercise and fresh air, I will gladly take them on enjoyable outings. I also happen to have a green thumb and know my way around plants. Whether it's taking care of your indoor houseplants or tending to your outdoor garden, I've got the skills to keep them happy and healthy while you're away. I love spending time outside so it'll be no problem. I’ve only recently made my Rover account public as I’m used to finding clients through word of mouth or social media, so if you’re concerned by the lack of ratings that’s why! Feel free to ask for any references. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. If you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Since pet sitting is my primary occupation, I have the flexibility to dedicate my entire day to the well-being and happiness of your beloved pets. With no other job commitments, my world revolves around providing exceptional care for furry companions. You can rest assured that your pets will receive my undivided attention, as I am always available and ready to meet their needs. My animals at home all have high-support needs, so I am used to following extravagant routines in order to make your pets comfortability a priority.

About: Hello! I'm Jane and I'm thrilled to offer my pet sitting services to you. As a trusted go-to pet sitter for my clients the past 5 years, I've honed my skills caring for both reactive and non-reactive dogs, whether they need a safe space to stay while you’re on vacation or just a friendly companion for the day. With a background in psychology, I understand canine behaviors and reinforcing positive actions with consistent rewards. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities, and I stay vigilant and aware at all times to ensure they---and everyone around them---are safe and sound. Beyond my pet-sitting duties, I engage in weekly boxing classes and community choir practices, nurturing my love for new adventures. Choose me as your dog sitter because I don't just care for pets; I truly adore them and invest in making their time away from you as enjoyable and enriching as possible. I give only the very best love and attention to your 'fur child,' whether they are a cat or dog! For dogs, I take them on brisk walks 2 - 3 times a day; treating them to the occasional pup cup; and playing/snuggling with them to help them feel right at home during their stay with me. Cats love to lounge around in the sun in my place, as I have large windows. I work from home and my apartment is right downtown, so it's easy for me to look after your beloved pet and incorporate their care into schedule. I'm very active anyways, so this suits my lifestyle and I would love to welcome your pet into my home. My apartment is warm and inviting, with corner windows, lots of plants and plenty of cozy spots for dogs/cats to enjoy...including my living room carpet which furry friends love to nap on. My building is also very secure; has a rooftop spot for potty breaks for dogs and there are loads of spots around for nice long walks & sniffs! Your pet - if small/medium sized, can sleep on my comfy couch or at the foot of my bed. I already have a food and water bowl that I clean regularly for them, so you don't need to bring that with you. Animals seem to natural warm to me, and love to snuggle next to me when I'm watching a movie or see what I'm cooking in the kitchen. I'm generous, kind and want to put you mind at ease when you pets stay with me.

“Sonya came over the day that Maisy got spayed and just relaxed with the girls. She has such a peaceful and calm energy and it is so lovely to see Maisy fall asleep curled up next to her while she was recovering. The girls are very relaxed with her and that is such a nice feeling as a pet parent!”
