About: I love all kinds of dogs and pets! I have watched and taken care of both my own and friends pets for years. I love hanging out with all different kinds of dogs and have experience with both big and small dogs. I have an open schedule at the moment! I am back in Anacortes this summer before starting grad school this fall. I am able to board pets at the moment. I will abide by your and your pet’s normal routine at home and follow any safety rules you have set in your home. I always have my full attention on every pet when taking care of them.

About: I’ve raised a few dogs, one is now a super dog who rehabilitates dogs who were said to be “lost causes”. Anyways she’s thriving at a BCSPCA and the manager of that branch can vouche. I live in James Bay so Ed and I are always walking, usually to the beach and up and down Dallas Road. Anyways my dog Ed is an older bulldog, lazy, stubborn and super cool, he’s good with all dogs but we would have to meet in a park and go for a walk but he can be very paternal once he deems a dog “acceptable”, sounds weird but it is what it is. I have a decent sized apartment for dogs who are a bit more mellow, furniture is ok but it is an apartment and I work 8am-3pm Monday to Friday, I sometimes get home to say hi, but a farm dog may not thrive here. As for weekends, Ed and I do everything together and we love taking friends with, or just relaxing, depending. Your dog should have all their shots and anti tick meds. I can also crate train, that’s how I’ve always raised dogs and can get out of work occasionally to check up or we can set up a camera. Transparency is key, chemistry is essential but I do well with taking care of doggos with Ed under the right circumstances. My schedule is flexible and if there’s anything else you need to know just ask! We love companions here, Ed loves cats but cats don’t like him so if your cat is used to big goofballs it could work. I work 8am-4pm Monday to Friday and have weekends off, I spend much of my time hanging out with Ed and other dogs, we are big socialites. There is also a big park 2 mins away that’s ultra dog friendly. As I said, there’s a small yard here but ed and I go to the park where his friends are,we haven’t any problems for years but when he was a pup he got in a few scraps and the fights were broken up without damage, so if (god forbid) anything happens I have no problems controlling dog situations, but I have the experience to forecast there’s things and that would be ultra rare. But no one’s getting injured on my watch.

About: Every animal I look after becomes a mutual journey of discovery and awesome reminder of how unique and precious each animal is and they are great teachers of love, play and loyalty :) I am currently exploring the island and my schedule is wide open. I have the time since I left my full-time position, to give full attention to each animal I serve. I follow house rules and safety and happiness are the top of my list. I send text messages and pics every day and spend all my day with each animal I look after.

About: Animals are wonderful beings! They have a way of reminding us to slow down, be present and get outside. Having been without pets for quite a number of years, I am missing their presence in my life. I grew up with poodles, springer spaniels and terriers. I had two cats of my own (Ruth and Monica) and loved them dearly. I'm considering a move to a quieter (and more rural) part of Vancouver Island and am looking to explore some of the areas outside of Victoria and house/pet sitting is a great way to get a feel for other communities. I'm also interested in exploring areas of the BC interior. I'm a devoted, reliable, dedicated animal lover and I take pride in doing any project to the best of my ability. I have a care-giver background, having worked in dental health and as a yoga teacher for many years. I have lots of experience with landscaping and I love to garden. I love building connections with people & animals. I am 'trauma-informed' and am familiar with 'Force Free' training principles. I'm comfortable with older pets and giving some meds as needed also. I've recently received a refresher with chicken coop care --gathering eggs, cleaning and maintaining the coop as well. Let's touch base with a phone call first to get a sense of each other. From there, if the 'fit' feels good--I'm happy to meet up in person on Vancouver Island. Alternatively, we can meet on video to get a feel for each other also. Looking forward to caring for your precious animal friends. I'm working on some entrepreneurial and writing projects (WFM) so I'm happy to take pups out in the morning and evening for walks, and longer hikes on the weekend too! I love to hike and explore rural and forested areas. Exercise is an essential part of each of my days and I'm happy to continue the exercise routines that you have in place for your pets :). Breaks for 'play' time are great for pets and for humans too! As a detail oriented person with a healthcare background, I understand the importance of providing the highest level of care to your pets. All of my airbnb references are 5 star, as I believe in the importance of leaving a place better than you found it. I've got fantastic personal references also. I'm registered with THS and House Sitters Canada. I've got a recent police check also. I'm more than happy to meet and review things in detail over zoom or meet up in person on Vancouver Island. I'm happy to provide consistent, reliable and loving care with your detailed guidance and instructions. As a former health-care worker (dental assistant and dental hygienist), I understand the importance of detailed, compassionate care and supporting your pets needs and regular routines.

“Maia took great care of our house and our two cats while we were away. She navigated the complexity of our keypad locks, litter robots, and automated feeders with ease. She left our house cleaner than we left it — taking out the trash, laundering the sheets etc. Most importantly, she kept us up to date with photos and videos of our two kittens :) Thank you so much!”

“After some initial mix ups about our get acquainted appointment things went great. Kelly was good with DJ and he seemed to have a good time. If needed we would book Kelly again and would recommend her to others.”

About: I grew up with at least one dog at all times, sometimes as many as two or three. I dog sit regularly for friends and coworkers. I enjoy spending time will all types of dogs! I am young, active, and love being outside. I am confident in my ability to take care of dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy levels. I work in town and my hours are flexible, so I can spend valuable time with the dog(s) that I am watching. Thank you for reading my profile and for considering me to watch your pup! Feel free to reach out with any questions. I work a full time job but can be flexible to take breaks between 9-5 to take your dog out. I also have a dog friendly office, so if your dog likes to hang out in that type of environment I can easily be a companion all day at work. I have two dogs at home, so I prefer to stay at the home of the pet I am watching and have my husband take care of our two dogs separately.

About: In my apartment complex, I’ve become the resident dog walker/sitter. Im a huge animal lover, and have been the go-to care taker for friends and family when they vacation. I am available all evenings and most mornings for pet-sitting. I work short morning shifts in a restaurant and work shifts tend to last about 4-6 hours. Weekends can be up to 8 hours. My schedule is very flexible and I’m willing to work with different schedules. I will not be providing services in my home because of my own old tabby rescue cat. He has anxiety and doesn’t handle other animals well.
