“Ripley underwent some big life changes recently. right after i started up a new job with a long commute, she lost her best (dog) buddy, who she was used to spending her days with. all of this meant Ripley was going to be spending 12+ hour days all alone. But then we met Dana, our Rover dog-walker! Now Ripley gets 30-minute adventures 2-3x a week, complete with photo updates and little synopsis of what went down on the walk. Getting the Rover notification, “Ripley’s been picked up for her walk!” is the highlight of my day. She’s in amazing hands, and I’m one grateful, teary-eyed dog mom. This looks and sounds like a Rover ad, but i’m not getting paid for it. I do highly highly recommend Dana - she is in Staunton. If you’re thinking, “my dog isn’t easy- she can’t be walked by just anyone” - that is exactly what i thought. Dana brings her husband on walks, and he can help manage the strength of a giant breed, (Ripley weighs over 100lbs) Also, if you think that your dog is too skittish to be walked by anyone other than you, I thought the same thing. Dana and her husband weren’t afraid of Ripley’s initial reaction to them. They stuck around for about an hour to wait for her to calm down and they gained her trust. They even introduced Ripley to their kids.”

About: Hi, I’m Katherin. I live in the countryside with my husband, our Great Dane, two cats, and a flock of eight chickens. Animals are a big part of my everyday life, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I also enjoy gardening, spending time in nature, and being surrounded by animals—whether I’m at home or helping care for yours. Growing up, pets were always part of my family, and my very first job as a kid was pet sitting for neighbors. Since then, I’ve continued caring for animals of all kinds—my own dogs and cats, as well as those of friends and family. I’ve had the pleasure of looking after pets ranging from tiny Yorkshire Terriers to gentle Great Danes, and I’m experienced in administering medication and providing senior pet care. I currently have a flexible schedule and am available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking. I’m not working another job, so I can dedicate plenty of time to your pets—and eventually, I hope to make pet sitting my full-time work! When I’m house sitting, please note that my husband works a 12-hour rotating shift—three days one week and four days the next. On the days he’s working, I’ll need to return home briefly to care for my own pets. During that time, I’d be away from your home for no more than 6 hours. Your pets’ comfort and well-being are always my top priority, and I’ll make sure they’re settled and cared for before stepping out. A few years ago, my husband and I used Rover for the first time, and I know firsthand how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your pets in someone else's care. Fortunately, it turned out to be a wonderful experience—our sitter kept us updated with messages and photos, and we came home to happy, relaxed pets. That peace of mind was truly priceless. About: I haven’t yet met a dog I don’t like. Not so big on slobber, but I can get behind everything else. My entire dad’s side of the family has had dogs for as long as I can remember, and three years ago we adopted our own dog, Percy. I helped train him from five months old to now and I continue to help caring for him every day. I have dogsat for various families in my neighborhood and they always ask me to come back! I’m currently home from college for the summer with very little travel plans: the perfect pet sitter! I have tons of free time and a lot of love to lend your pets. In my own home, I pay special attention to my pets. I make sure any toys that are choking hazards are immediately thrown away and I make sure the litter box is clean/plenty of potty breaks are taken. In your home I will do the same.

About: My dog-sitting history is primarily dogs with a variety of health issues and idiosyncrasies. Does your dog have special needs or odd habits? I've got it covered! Normies welcome too. ;) I work full time during the week, so I'm available weekends if you need me during the day or I can lend my services on weekdays evenings/mornings depending on proximity. I'm religious about monitoring doors and making sure everyone is appropriately harnessed/leashed. I have experience administering topical and oral medications and can maintain time-sensitive care schedules.

About: I’ve been around dogs, cats, and even farm animals since I was very young. I worked as a kennel technician at a vet in college, so I have plenty of experience with animals, as well as administering medication. I grew up helping my parents out at their doggy daycare and boarding facility. Friends and family always give me a call when they need someone to watch their furry friends! I am currently a student, so I have lots of free time throughout the days during the week, as well as weekends to take your pups on walks, or pop in when needed to check on your feline friends. About: I grew up taking care of our pets, taking care of family/friends pets. I have had a senior dog five years and counting. I have had a German Shepherd two years and counting. I'm currently working part time. So, I have some flexibility and plenty of time to love on your fur baby! My schedule is an usual of Mon, Wed, and Thurs being available after 2PM. Tuesdays I will be available anytime. Weekends will vary but we would love some extra company while we are at home. I have a fenced in backyard where the babes can free run. I have two dogs to keep your fur baby company. We love to go on walks around the neighborhood or at our property. We love to snuggle on the couch. We also have a crate if necessary for any dog size.

About: I’ve had experience with helping with puppies and other ages of dogs. I personally have a cat of my own and I’ve had 4 years of experience with cats. I am currently working 35-40 hours a week and I am mostly free in the afternoons and evening. I am completely free on Sundays too!
