“After a few failed attempts with other dog sitters, we came to Rover to find someone who truly loves and cares for pups. We definitely found it with Karyssa and her family. They loved on our sweet boy just like we would. He came home worn out, like he’d been away at summer camp! I loved the daily pictures and updates, it helped with being away from our pup! We definitely recommend Karyssa, and will be booking again on our next trip.”

Pet care is already a big part of my everyday life! As a dog and cat owner myself, I’m used to balancing feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and making sure pets get the attention they deserve. My work schedule offers flexibility, and I’m happy to coordinate visits around your pet’s normal routine. I understand how important consistency is and will always communicate clearly about my availability! Your pet’s safety, happiness, and comfort are always my top priorities! “We are so happy that we had Amy watch Sadie! She sent constant updates and we were never worried about her for one second. It was clear through the pictures and videos that Sadie was very comfortable and felt right at home. She was happy (and tired!) when we picked her up, which says it all. Amy truly cared for her like she was her own. Sadie can be a little quirky and needy, but Amy handled it all so well. We’ll absolutely be booking with her again for sitting and walks!”

About: Hi there! I’m Hannah, a lifelong animal lover who enjoys caring for dogs and cats of all kinds. If my calendar shows I am unavailable, please go ahead and send a request anyway. I am unable to block off time periods of the day, so while I may be busy in the morning, I may be free that evening, and vice versa. Please note that I am moving to Winston Salem at the end of July/beginning of August. Therefore, any requests sent before then, I may not be available for. Drop in visits/walks - I work from home M-F 8-5. I typically can do my drop-in visits in the early morning, on my lunch break, and evenings after work. I can be flexible, though if another time is needed. Just let me know! House sitting - House sitting is similar to my drop-in visits. Breakfast/potty in the morning, lunchtime potty break, and then I'll head to your home after work to spend the evening/overnight with your pet. Please note, I do have a dog of my own who would likely come with me in the evenings for overnight. She is crate/potty trained and always looking for a new friend to play with - even cats! (i have two cats of my own that she grew up with). If you would prefer my dog to not come, thats ok too. Please allow the flexibility to go back and forth to ensure she can potty as well. Boarding - As mentioned above, I do work from home. If you'd like your pet to stay at my home, I can ensure they have consistent, around-the-clock care. I do have a two-story home with baby gates throughout and four bedrooms. If you'd like your pet not to interact with mine, that can be arranged. I treat every pet like family—because they are! Whether your pet loves playtime, belly rubs, long walks, or quiet snuggles, I tailor every visit to their unique needs and personality. You can count on me to be reliable, communicative, and always attentive to your pet’s well-being. Whether you’re heading out of town or just need a helping hand, I’m here to make sure your furry friend feels loved and safe while you’re away. Let’s set up a meet & greet—I’d love to learn more about your pet! I am currently working full time and also a full time student. However, I got pretty lucky and do both fully remote which gives me the freedom to do other things such as pet sitting. If my calendar shows I am unavailable, please go ahead and send a request anyway. I am unable to block off time periods of the day, so while I may be busy in the morning, I may be free that evening, and vice versa. PLEASE NOTE **** I do have a dog of my own. If you are requesting a house sitting stay, please keep in mind that I will need to either come and go from your home to care for my own dog or have my dog with me during the house sitting stay. She is friendly with other dogs, cats, and is crate/potty trained. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness are my top priorities. I follow your instructions closely and keep their routine as normal as possible—whether that means sticking to a specific feeding schedule, giving medications, or making time for their favorite games and walks.

“Amanda and her family are very compassionate and attentive people. I don't think my dog wanted to come home lol they took excellent care of her. I don't leave her often and I get nervous leaving her in the first place but I would 100% leave her with them again. I trusted she was well cared for and she was, she sent pictures and asked if they could watch her again which is very kind and generous. Even at drop off her fiance sat on the ground with Pancake and let her get used to him. I can't thank y'all enough for caring for her while I was away, thank you again”

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

93% of sitters in Amostown can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Amostown home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Amostown.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Amostown. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

You and your Amostown sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
