About: We offer experienced, loving and thorough pet care for the feathered and furred. With decades of experience, caring for many species and multiple animals at once, comes as second nature. Holding a Bachelor in Science, focused on captive wildlife, we are technically trained in animal husbandry and wellbeing; while also offering a natural, intuitive sense of animal behaviors and needs. Using gentle, loving tones and energies, providing keen observation, and upholding thorough safety measures that ensure excellent care of your pets; your animals are in good hands with Whiskers and Beaks, our pet care services business name. I'm currently a caretaker with my husband for multiple family members and am able to schedule pets in between care responsibilities. My son comes along, when it is appropriate for the pets needs, which makes balancing family and work easier, and provides extra enrichment for the pets we care for. Insured, bonded, and CPR trained. I offer individualized care depending on each pets needs. As a person with an intuitive understanding of animals, I am easily able to interpret their energy and provide the care they desire and need. I provide many updates to my clients as I care for their beloved beings and this brings much reassurance and satisfaction to the families I work with. My mom used to call me 'Snow White' because of my natural affinity with animals. I am often the person who a dog or cat knows they can come to for gentle, loving presence and care. I am comfortable taking care of many animals in a single household.

I'm so glad I found Annette! It was my first time leaving my kitty alone at home and I was nervous especially since the little guy had an ear infection but she went above and beyond to take care of him and also administer his ear drops. She is very down to earth & easy to talk to and I felt comfortable working with her. Finding someone you trust to take care of your fur kiddo is such a personal & delicate thing and she's very thoughtful- I would definitely go back to her next time!

Alyssa is a VERY CARING petsitter that I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! When she came in for the meet and greet, all 5 of my pets ran right up to her wanting pets and loving which she gladly gave. When it came to the day when she did check ins, not only did she ck in with me with pics, but other than feeding, walked my dog Zion which was not 1 of the things she was asked to do, but also sat outside with him so he could get out of the crate and go outside and enjoy the nice weather. She also gave some lovin to my cats to who are ALWAYS begging for it. She goes ABOVE AND BEYOND and has great deal of love for animals. I will DEFINANTLY have her back, A+++++ PETSITTER!!! THANK YOU ALYSSA!! 😀😀

About: Hi there, I’m Sarah! I’m a U.S. Navy veteran who separated in 2017, and I’ve spent my life traveling—living in 25 states and 6 countries as a military brat. This has given me a deep appreciation for different cultures, environments, and, most importantly, animals of all kinds. My love for animals runs deep. I’m comfortable watching all kinds of animals! Over the years, I’ve owned bunnies, birds, reptiles, and goats, and I’ve had plenty of experience helping my aunts and uncles with their farm animals. From horses and cows to chickens, I’m confident in caring for a wide variety of pets. I have an older service dog, Basil, and an older cat, Dhara, so if your pets stay with me, they’ll be in a calm, experienced environment with plenty of love and attention. Both Basil and Dhara are used to being around other animals and help create a peaceful atmosphere where your pet can feel comfortable and at ease. I’ll ensure your pets are treated like family and receive the care and respect they deserve while they stay with us. I spent two years training my service dog, Basil, at the ARF Pets for Vets facility in Walnut Creek, California, which gave me valuable insight into pet behavior, training techniques, and the unique bonds we share with our furry companions. Whether it’s offering tips for curbing troublesome behaviors or simply ensuring your pet feels safe and loved, I’m here to help. When I’m not working as an electrical engineer building ships for the Navy, I’m exploring the world, cooking and baking (I’m an elite Yelp reviewer!), or indulging my passion for design—creating 3D models and bringing ideas to life. I’m a firm believer that animals have their own way of communicating, and I take the time to understand their body language, giving them space to express their needs and personalities. What you can expect from me: Personalized care and attention for your pet’s unique needs. Training advice for behavioral challenges Daily updates with photos, texts, and videos. A meet-and-greet to ensure a good fit and understanding of your pet’s routine. A commitment to your pet’s safety, health, and happiness. I look forward to meeting your fur babies and giving them the love and care they deserve! I work full-time Monday through Friday with every other Friday off. From 6 AM to 3 PM, but I can accommodate meet and greets throughout the week, including drop in visits on my lunch break. If I’m staying at a client’s home, I can easily plan my schedule around your pet’s needs, ensuring they receive consistent care and attention. I’m most available for extended services Friday through Sunday, so we can coordinate a schedule that works best to keep your furry, feathered, or scaly friend happy and comfortable. I prioritize safety, trust, and a comfortable environment for every pet in my care. In my home or a client’s home, I ensure the space is pet-proofed and free of hazards. I follow each pet’s routine to make them feel at ease, respecting their space and preferences. For new pets, I take the time to build trust through positive interactions and gentle introductions. If I’m caring for pets in my home, I create a calm, safe space with designated areas for eating, sleeping, and play. I supervise all interactions, especially with other animals, to ensure everyone's safety. I also maintain cleanliness, making sure litter boxes are scooped daily (or more frequently depending on the pet), food and water bowls are clean, and any medication needs are carefully followed. When staying in a client’s home, I respect their environment by keeping their pet’s routine consistent, and I ensure they have a safe, familiar space. I communicate regularly with pet owners to update them on their pet’s well-being and to address any concerns. My goal is to provide the same level of care, attention, and comfort in your home as I would in mine.

About: I have taken care of dogs of every kind at a veterinary clinic. My duties included taking them outside to use the restroom, clean their cages and giving them baths. I have also watch my neighbors pets since I was 15. My duties included letting the animals out, feeding them breakfast and dinner and taking them on walks. I am available at anytime of the week. I typically work nights. My schedule is very flexible so I can leave work for a couple hours at a time to check in with your pets. I would follow instructions given to me about taking care of the animal and clean up when needed in a clients home. Some examples would be following written or verbal instructions.

About: I am the proud owner of 5 dogs ( 1 GSD, 1 King Shepard, 2 huskies, and a husky GSD mix). I've always had pets - cats and dogs. I'm a new owner to 2 bearded dragons as well. I had a sheltie for 13 years as a tri-paw and welcome any pups that need extra love and attention I'm working part time and am able to drop in for your pets in the evenings and weekends when my schedule permits! I can do weekly visits or just one time depending on your needs. Each babe is cared for individually. No one will be left alone and will always be secure in handling. I understand that not all babes can be off leash or trusted with other pets, sometimes items in the yard or house can be scary.

About: I love caring for animals, and I approach every pet as if they were my own. I have one senior American Foxhound who is my whole world. I ensure a nurturing environment where your pets feel comfortable, loved, and well-cared for. I am very conscious of the care required for dogs of different ages, breeds, and sizes. Growing up, my family had quite the hobby farm. I have experience caring for chickens, goats, cats, big dogs, small dogs, reptiles, and fish. There are no off-limit pets for me! I also have experience as a nanny caring for children, homes, and pets. I am a full-time Rover service provider. This is my only job, so I have tons of flexibility! I would love to have a repeat client. For check-ins and dog walking services, I prioritize creating a comfortable and secure environment for pets. During check-ins, I ensure timely visits, providing food, water, and any necessary medications. Additionally, dog walking sessions focus on exercise and mental stimulation, tailoring each walk to the pet's energy level and preferences. Consistent communication with clients, keeping them informed and reassured about their pets' well-being. I will honor all house rules and respect your belongings.

FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Amherst

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 64 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Amherst. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
