About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities — from playful puppies to gentle seniors, energetic large breeds to cuddly lap dogs. Whether it’s feeding, walking, administering medication, or just providing a safe and loving environment, I treat every dog like they’re my own. I love creating routines that make pets feel comfortable and happy, whether that’s a brisk morning walk, a game of fetch, or just curling up for a snuggle. I also have a 1.5-year-old mini Goldendoodle who I absolutely adore, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your furry family member! I am currently on summer break, so I am pretty flexible! When school starts back up, I will typically only be available in the evenings! Whether your furry friend is staying with me or I’m caring for them in your home, I strive to create a calm, loving, and secure environment that mirrors their routine and makes them feel right at home. In my home, pets are supervised closely, given plenty of love, and kept in a clean, safe space that’s free of hazards. I only accept a limited number of dogs at a time to ensure each one gets personalized care and attention. My own pup is friendly, fully vaccinated, and always supervised during any interactions. In your home, I respect your space and follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible, from feeding schedules to walk routes and bedtime habits. I provide regular updates with photos and always keep communication open, so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. No matter where I’m caring for your pet, you can count on a trustworthy, responsible sitter who treats your dog like family.

“Jodie did a fantastic job watching my special needs dog! She took the time to guide him outside and down the stairs. I highly recommend her and will be rebooking in the future!”

“Jennifer was great with my little girl! She was playing with her in the backyard, which I really appreciate!”

About: I love all types of animals. I have experience taking care of horses, pigs, cats, dogs, and even small rodents! I have multiple years experience working in veterinary clinics, doggy day cares, and even my own personal animals. I have taken 3 years of veterinary classes as well. I truly love animals like they are my own. I’m currently working part time learning how to be a saleswoman! So I have plenty of time to cuddle and love on your furry loved ones! I love going on walks, playing with toys, giving kisses, brushing, and giving treats! I currently only have cats, 3 of my own, but I have had a dog when I was a kid and know how to take care of them! I will take any precautions you want and am not limited to any working style. I will do what you want me to do and what the animal is comfortable with! I know how to read body language and give proper precautions if needed. I’ve dealt with stressed dogs/cats and happy ones too!

About: Since age 10 I’ve been volunteering at the ARL. At this same time, my passion for animal welfare also led me to be vegetarian. Since being able to drive I have taken care of multiple different peoples animals during short and extended periods away from home. I am a college student and work part time so I have availability during the day and evenings to care for your pets! I am available weekdays and weekends. My main priority is your pets comfort and safety in their own environment. I am open to any specific needs and instructions to provide your pet the best care.

About: I grew up with dogs & have had two large breed dogs for the past 13 years. Currently, our dogs are seniors & one has some health issues that I am well skilled in supporting. I have a passion to LOVE every fur baby, dog & cat, as though they're my own because I whole-heartedly believe they deserve the best life we can give. I can't wait to care for your sweet doggo or cat ❤️ I work full time, but many days from home, which is reflected in my availability. I have the ability to move around my schedule, as needed, to work with your needs. When possible, I like to have a brief meet & greet with you and your pet(s) so that we are all familiar with each other and any further expectations for when I am in your home. Whatever accommodations are necessary to make sure you and your pet(s) feel safe, trusted and loved is my priority.

About: I have been dog sitting for my friends and family for years. I work from home and have a large fenced in backyard. I have a 3 bedroom house located a few block from a bike/walking trail. I would like a dog of my own but my schedule doesn’t allow for that so cuddling and spending time with your dog would be perfect. I’m new to Rover and would more than happy to provide references if needed. Your dog will have access to my furniture while I am home. I can maintain a set schedule and provide your dog with love and care while you are away. I currently work full time from my home. Your pet would be in a kennel very minimal and have lots of attention. Would just be in a kennel if I need to run errands. I have a large fenced in backyard that your pet will love to run free in. The fence was replaced summer of 2021 after the derecho.

“She did a great job with our dog. He's very old and she had great patience and was very attentive. She spent extra time with him rather than just get done and report often on how he was doing.”

About: I have had animals all my life as I grew up on a farm . Recently both my schnauzers pass away from old age. I am not ready for another pet of our own but love watching other pets. I am experienced watching all ages of dogs and cats and also administering medicine if needed. Pets will need to be kid friendly in my house , they can keep up with the energetic ones but know to be gentle with the older ones. I also love to snuggle so your pets will get lots of kisses and hugs. I have a very flexible work from home schedule, so I am able to cater to your pet's needs. They will work alongside me and I am able to take regular breaks for play time and walks depending on your pet. Safety is our #1 concern so even though we have a fenced in yard they will always be supervised. I also have locks on all our fences just in case. Our environment can also cater to the needs of your pet's personality; I am prepared to snuggle on the couch or play until we can't play anymore. I also love to take pictures so will keep you very updated! I know it's hard to leave your babies so we will do our best to make you and them feel comfortable.

About: I am an animal LOVER, and willing to make sure your dog has a safe and fun experience! I’ll make sure your dog gets all the love, care and attention they deserve. My husband and I have been married 12 years and we have twin daughters. Our family also had a dog, Herky (of 13 years), who we recently passed away. We recently began our Rover journey to help fill the void in our home after losing Herky. We are looking for some puppy love and snuggles, to help heal our hearts. I work full-time, but our family has plenty of time to take care of your pet during breaks. Your pet will never be left alone more than a few hours at a time, and we are home in the evenings to take care of your fur baby! I have a nice back yard. In addition the high trestle trail is in our backyard which allows for nice long walks with your fur baby!

“Doggo got a mice walk even after a hard rain. Thank you!!”

About: I have grown up with dogs and dog sit for many families. I have helped with different types of breeds, ages, and needs of many dogs over the years. I currently work in Des Moines during the week but have great availability on evenings and weekends. If your dog is fine staying home alone during the day if they stay with us, or when we stay at your home please consider us! We live on the third floor of an apartment complex here in Ankeny with elevator access! We have a patio that in warmer months we can always put per pads down if needed. Both me and my boyfriend are big dog lovers and will create a fun and safe environment for any and all pets. We do live in an apartment complex so if your pet needs lots of room to roam, our two bedroom apartment might not be a great fit.

About: Hello! I’m a teacher off for the summer and my own dog passed away this year. I’m not ready to adopt a new dog yet but I miss being with them and figured this summer could be a great time to do some dog walking or dog sitting! I grew up with dogs and have had a variety of breeds, shapes, sizes over the decades. I dog-sat during college and during grad school for friends, professors, and a few strangers I connected with on an older website (I feel like it was called care-dot-com for anyone who’s old enough to remember that). As someone who is a “bit” older, I’m reliable and have very little social life!! Perfect for you and your pet! I’m also super motivated to make your dog as happy as I can! I miss that aspect of having a pet—you take care of them and they keep you sane in this crazy world. As a teacher, I’m free this summer. I have had temporary jobs in the past but don’t have anything lined up this summer! I only have 1-2 short trips planned so mostly just kicking around and working on my yard and garden! I have a wire fenced yard (not a privacy fence). It’s not the biggest but I’ve also had a smaller yard! There are neighboring dogs, as well, so keep that in mind. As mentioned, no dog at the moment. I’m very careful with dogs in terms of behavior. I was raised to understand that the person is responsible for the dog’s behavior. This means paying attention, shortening the lead when needed, helping the dog feel secure, crossing the street, etc.

About: I found my first love for dogs when I was about 5, and begged my mom to rescue Burrito Bob. I then grew up always having a dog around. My junior year of high school I decided to buy my very own goldendoodle, Toby James. Toby is the best dog ever, and more so my child than my dog! I have 2 goldendoodle’s of my own, and they have learned very quickly what it’s like to be spoiled (we love drive through, the word pup-cup, and car rides! Of course we also love going on walks and runs! I have grown up living with 5 dogs at once of all different breeds! I’ve also recently learned how to groom my own doodles! Dogs hold a special place in my heart, and I’d love to care for your dogs like my own! I have 2 pups of my own that I treat like children! I enjoy taking my dogs for long walks and taking care of them! I will walk and let dogs out during the days! I have a 70 and 30 pound doodle that I walk at the same time! We recently welcomed our first non-fur baby into our home in October, and I am looking for a way to be the best mom I can be! What better way than daily walks and our absolute favorite thing - dogs?!

About: I grew up with 2 dogs- a Malshie and a Boxer!! I was the one who helped walk, pick up poop, bathe them, and give medications (always crazy experiences 😂). Let me help you with what you need I'm currently working full time, but have a lot of flexibility throughout my week. I would love to help with walking your dogs on a daily walk or even help with overnight stays for your get a ways! I would be able to help take care of your fur baby in your home with what they need as they are more comfortable in their own environment!
