About: I have had animals in my home since I was a child. I got my own puppy about 10 years ago and trained him to be a guard dog during my time as a missionary in west Africa. About: I have personally had a pet or 3 since I was 13 years old. I begged for a cat for years and once I got one, I never have been without at least one pet. I have been volunteering with the ARL since 2005. I have had 30+ foster dogs through them as well. I just love animals. I do have weekends blocked but just ask about availability! I am retired. I enjoy going for walks with dogs and depending on the dog spending time outside in my fenced in backyard. I have a 6 foot fence. Your dog will have the ability to be part of our family and our family pets are on our furniture. We do separate our home animals, fosters and house guests at night. The "regulars" get to sleep in our beds while our guests get other accommodations. It makes for better harmony for us. Because we foster on a regular basis our animals are very used to different dogs coming into our home. Our home is pretty quiet and relaxing.

About: I've been pet-sitting around my neighborhood since I was 10, and grown up alongside dogs, cats, small rodents, and reptiles. I'm far from squeamish, and I love all creatures, even if they are grumpy, irritable, or messy. I volunteer at the ARL in Ankeny! I'm currently in school, but because I'm not taking a full schedule of classes, I can be around your pets multiple times over the school week every day. I have my own car, so I'm able to get where I need to easily. I don't do sports, so I'm free almost every day of the week, save for the occasional band event. My dog is a friendly older dog who is far from aggressive. She lives to sleep and sit in the sun, and is unbothered by even the most hyper of puppies. “Jessica took care of my dog Iommi for a long weekend while I traveled out of state for my brother's wedding. It was my first time leaving Iommi and Jessica was the perfect person to leave her with. I was admittedly anxious about leaving Iommi for the first time, but as soon as I arrived the morning of drop-off Jessica made me feel 100% at ease. She took care of Iommi like she was her own and I know Iommi had a great time staying with Jessica and her family and playing with her dog Rip. I highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for care for their pet! I will definitely be booking with Jessica again!”
“Amy and Casey were great with our pup. Rudy can be pretty anxious, especially around new people, and Amy and Casey were very patient and understanding with him. He warmed up to them and had a great weekend, and Casey and Amy provided updates and pictures. Would definitely recommend them to anyone!”

“Colleen was great and Peppa loved her! She kept in touch with pictures and video and took Peppa for rides and walks and snuggled with her when fireworks were going off for the 4th of July. She is super kind and thoughtful and also has a fenced in yard, which Peppa loved. We loved Colleen’s vibe and wish she would be our personal dog sitter. Peppa is probably thinking she wants to go back and that she had a fun vacation and a welcome break from us. 😛”
“Nicole (and her family) took the best care of Margot while our family was at Disney. She communicated and organized a meet up with plenty of time in advance and made sure I was comfortable. She answered the many questions I had and it was obvious how much she loved having dogs in her home. From the minute Margot was in her care, I received pictures and videos. Her entire family loved on Margot and even with an unexpected health issue during Margot’s stay, I never doubted she was being loved. Can’t wait to have Margot stay with them again!”

“I think Missy has got to be the best sitter my dog Bella has ever had. Not only did Missy welcome the challenge of a spicy chihuahua but she mastered it. By the end she let her hold her! And if any of you are owners of little anxious dogs you know this is a big deal!! Missy also did a great job communicating with us and sending tons of photos which we appreciated. Having Bella stay with Missy made us feel at ease, allowing us to enjoy our trip to the fullest knowing Bella was in good hands. Would highly recommend booking with Missy and I’m sure Bella looks forward to her next visit!”
