“Bethany was the most welcoming and confident host for our 12 yo poodle mix. Our dog has struggled with anxiety for years, so I was excited to see how accepting he was of being dropped off in a new-to-him environment. Bethany’s energy was perfect for his temperament, and I feel lucky to have found her for future visits. She tended to his needs, and even though he had a couple accidents- due to nerves or aging - she took this in gracious stride. We received photos and updates that made our trip away from him feel seamless. We highly recommend her, and will book with Bethany anytime she is available.”

“Brendan was great with our 5 month old Aussie puppy! He sent daily updates and was extremely flexible when our flight got delayed. Our pup was happy to play with his golden retriever and came home very sleepy!”

“I was so concerned about leaving my elderly dog for a week , she has so much anxiety and i had not left her with anyone before. Christopher was great he kept Azalia safe and happy until i returned. He was great with sending updates and picture and videos which helped put my mind at ease and let me enjoy my vacation. I could not have asked for a better sitter. Thanks”

“He has been amazing! I recently got assigned a job in this area and I was so stressed out trying to find someone who can keep my dog overnight. He has stayed with him for a few nights and I will be continuing to use him while this job lasts! He is great with my dog and my dog gets so excited when we pull up to the house for drop off!”

“Adrienne is amazing. She was very attentive to Milo, who sometimes takes a bit to warm up to a new environment. In addition, even though the temps were very cold she still walked Milo which I really appreciated because he loves his walks!! Definitely a wonderful dog sitter and will use her again.”

“Karen is wonderful! This was our second time having Karen sit our dogs, my dogs love staying with her. She takes such good care of them, I never have to worry while I'm away.”

“Britny, Jeremy, and Remy were the BEST sitters for our pup Jager. They kept in contact, got some of the best pics, and overall were so kind to work with! We will definitely use them in the future so that Remy can visit with the “tiny dog” again 😊🤍”

“My biggest worry going out of town was having to leave Reggie at a regular kennel, where last time he came back with Kennel Cough and scared. I felt so much peace of mind having him stay with Kari & Clint and was so thankful for their pictures and updates. He came back home a happy and healthy boy. We are 100% looking forward to using them for our trips in the future. Thank you Kari and Clint!!!”

“Nikki T was fabulous. Remi does not like to be without his family. Nikki had no problems in making Remi comfortable in her home. Great experience for Remi and our family. Would return to, and recommend Nikki T.”

“Shalissa and her family were wonderful. Very friendly people who really cared about our dogs. If this in any way helps those of you new to Rover, I highly recommend her. This was our first time and our boys loved it. She sent lots of photos and kept me informed while we were gone. We will be using her again later this year.”

“Kyungyeon was above and beyond the most incredible sitter for our Copper!! We got so many updates and made sure our boy was happy and comfortable the whole time!!!! We are so thankful!!”

“Tucker enjoyed a wonderful week with Marietta and Nanette, along with Erin Rose and another fur friend! We love receiving daily updates and photos of our boy while we're away from him! We are so grateful for Nanette's exceptional care and attention given to our Tucker!”

“My dogs have never had such an easy drop off! They instantly bonded with Julie’s friendly dogs and went off to explore. A great experience for our dogs. We’ll look to book again with Julie!”

“Fudge had a great time making new furry friends and came home happy and well cared for. Kevin kept us updated throughout the stay with regular messages and adorable photos, which really put our minds at ease. Highly recommend his services—we’ll definitely be back!”

“The best person i could ever ask to take care of my baby Challa. Rajesh is very sweet and personable. He is wonderful with communicating and sending pictures. I will definitely bring Challa back to Rajesh. I 100% trust and know he will be taken good care of with Rajesh. Thank you so much again. Challa misses you already ?”

“Destinee was absolutely AMAZING! She sent updates with pictures every day and my boys looked so happy and loved. She also went out of her way to trim one of my boys' nails that I hadn't gotten done yet. I will definitely be using her again.”

“Richard took amazing care of our pup, Porter, while we were gone for a week. Richard communicated promptly and would always send pictures and videos of Porter. His dog, Bruce, was super sweet and got along great with our dog which also provided great activity and engagement during the day. Highly recommend hiring Richard to watch your furry family member, as we felt that our boy was in great hands the entire time.”

About: I am a proud owner of an 11-year-old yellow labrador retriever and a two-year-old cat named Cooper. Growing up my house was always full of animals, including multiple cats and multiple dogs at all times. I have 3 children who are all gentle with animals. My yellow lab is a diabetic so I am familiar with checking glucose and administering insulin. I am currently staying at home with the children and am free almost every day Monday-Friday. I am open to walking dogs, playing with the pets either at my house or yours. We do not have a real fence, as our dog is invisible fence trained. We do have large crates available, plenty of dog toys and treats if applicable to your pet. Our dog is very friendly and spoiled, as yours would be also! Your pet would be treated as a part of our family!

Kylie was awesome! Our dog was a rescue and can be hesitant around new people but the minute he saw Kylie, he acted like he had known her his whole. She sent us updates to let us know he was enjoying his stay which made us feel less guilty about vacationing without him. He spends his days lounging on the couch at home so going to a kennel would have been extremely difficult. Kylie allowed him to continue his pampered lifestyle. We will definitely be using Kylie’s services again. Thank you so much Kylie!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Alfont home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Alfont.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Alfont sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
