“Tarrah and her husband took excellent care of our 2 fur babies while we were away for the holiday. They came by 3 times a day to take them out and feed them. We were sent a daily update and photos of the girls playing at the dog park. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing our girls were in good hands. I highly recommend Tarrah our girls loved her.”

“Hannah was great! This was my first time using rover and she helped walk me through it. Leaving your home and your dog with a stranger is definitely an intimidating thing, but with all of Hannah’s communication I felt confident that it would could go well. I would recommend her to anyone! She was so nice and my dog Aussie seemed to have an amazing time.”

About: I had pets my whole life growing up (cats and dogs at the same time), currently haven’t a cat, and watch my families pets when they are out of town. I am reliable and can handle any situation that comes up. I work full time but I am able to work from home half the week so this allows me to be flexible with my pet sitting. I have a huge fenced in back yard, I treat every animal like my own as well. Additionally, I always respect other people’s homes.

We’re Anthony & Makaila, and we’re here to give your pets the love and attention they deserve while you’re away! ❤️ Whether it’s letting your pup outside, feeding them, giving them some playtime, or simply keeping them company, we’ll treat your pets like they’re our own. 🐶🐱 We know how important it is to have someone you can trust, so we’ll keep you updated with photos and make sure your pets are happy, safe, and cared for. You handle your plans—we’ll handle the tail wags! 🐾❤️ We work a mostly flexible schedule during the week and are available most weekends for pet drop in visits! No boarding or over nights at this time. For drop-in visits, we focus on making sure your pets are happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. We follow your pet’s normal routine and instructions, including feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and any medications or special needs. We’ll give your pets plenty of attention and affection during each visit, while also respecting their individual personalities and comfort levels. We’re happy to send pictures and updates after each visit so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are doing well. About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life, i’ve even lived on a farm! I enjoy the company animals give me and how I can understand their love and appreciation without words. I have been around pets from dogs and cats, to turtles and ferrets. I have always been able to bond well with plenty of animals and it makes me happy knowing I can take care of them. I am a full-time college student at UToledo, majoring in Psychology! Although I am taking 5 classes, I still have many gaps in my schedule, and I would love to be able to use my time to play with animals! At the moment, I do not have my own animal, as my previous one passed away. I'd love to make my day a bit brighter and more exciting by watching your sweet animals! Unfortunately, I will not be able to pet-sit or care for any animals in my own home due to living in an apartment, having no fenced-in yard, and not having much space for pets to roam around. I am able, though, to go to anyone’s home to watch their pet and take it from there. I love being outside, so walks are definitely a must for animals that need lots of walking (or any cats/other animals who love to go outside). I will take pictures to send to the animal's owners, record medical information, clean up after the pets/bathroom area, and take on any other needed requests. I will ask questions and get to know what I can/can’t do with the pets before I try to do anything! I am very flexible, and I am here to help you and make your life easier!

This work has strengthened my confidence handling energetic working dogs in public spaces. About: I don’t just love animals; caring for them is something I have years of hands-on experience doing. I have worked professionally in dog daycare and have also provided private pet sitting for families since 2022. My experience has taught me how to read canine body language, recognize changes in behavior, safely manage different personalities, and help dogs who may be shy, anxious, nervous, or simply VERY excited to make a new friend! I believe every pet deserves care based on who they are. Some dogs want to play and stay busy, while others would rather curl up beside you and feel safe. I take the time to learn your pet’s normal routine, personality, likes, dislikes, feeding schedule, and the little things that make them comfortable. I want you to leave knowing your pet is safe, happy, loved, and being cared for like one of my own. 🐾❤️ Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I have the experience from working in a structured dog daycare and also provide private pet-sitting services, so I’m accustomed to planning my schedule around the needs of the animals in my care. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, and overnight care, and I’ll always make sure we discuss your pet’s normal routine so I can keep things as consistent as possible while you’re away. Safety and trust are extremely important to me. My professional dog daycare and pet-sitting experience has taught me to pay close attention to body language, behavior changes, and each pet’s individual comfort level. I follow feeding, walking, medication, and household instructions carefully and never assume that every pet has the same needs. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, my goal is to provide a clean, calm, secure environment where they can feel comfortable and cared for.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
