“I like bringing Sidekick here because I can tell she has a great time. She gets plenty of time to play outdoors and plenty of care and attention from Alyssa and her family. Coordinating drop off/pick up is easy too.”
“Tyler was awesome. He has a great place and I could tell my dog would be well taken care of. My puppy greeted him like a long lost owner, I was a little worried he wouldn’t want to come back home with me. Lol. I was given photos and updates and I honestly just did not worry one bit the entire time Tyler had my pup. I am relieved that there is a trusted person to leave my pup with in the future should I need a dog sitter again.”
“I have to say, Jenae was GREAT!!! Her communication with me was always very prompt and she was very flexible with drop-off and pick-up. My dog Xena came back super happy and relaxed. Jenae’s experience with dogs and all she does to help them made me appreciate her so much. She is a gem.”
“Can’t say enough good about Gabbi and Justin! So thankful our dog had a safe and fun place to be while we were on vacation - it’s like our dog got a vacation, too! Thank you for everything, Gabbi and Justin. The daily updates were so wonderful, and the care that was shown to our dog was incredible. Highly recommend Gabbi and Justin if you’re looking for amazing dog sitters who will really care about your pets!!! We will definitely be having our pup go to Gabbi and Justin for any future needs! Again, thanks for everything, Gabbi and Justin!!!!!!”
“Misty is the best! My dog, Roxy usually doesn't eat when I am away, but she ate while being with Misty, and I could tell by the videos and pics that she enjoyed her time with Misty. I will definitely come back to her for the next trip.”
“Jonah took extremely good care of my pug/tibetan spaniel mix Wookiee and treated him as his own. I used his services while overseas for 6 weeks. I could follow how my dog adapted in the environment well with his own dogs. When I picked up Wookiee, was happy, but not ecstatic to see me. He went back snd forth between me and Jonah and his dogs. I think that says it all.”
“10/10 recommend Amanda! Incredible communication throughout Chief’s entire stay! I felt comfortable and confident he in was in the best hands at drop off / pickup! Will definitely rebook with this sweet family again!”
“We have nothing but great things to say about Kaitlyn! She was very easy to communicate with and took many adorable pictures of our pups during their stay. We got daily updates on their progress which was so comforting our first time away from them for more than a day or two. Definitely recommend!!”
“Cindy was willing to take our pups in on very short notice. She did an excellent job. I received many pictures and updates while they were with Cindy and they always looked happy and loved. Will definitely use again!”
“Kayla and Trevor are honestly the best! They send lots of pics and give updates on what the dogs have been doing each day. Daisy always has the best time when she’s staying with them. They care for my dog just like they do their own. I will continue to use Kayla and Trevor!”
About: I've had dogs for over 16 years. My childhood dog is now 16 and still going strong. I currently have 3 dogs and I am very comfortable with handling emergencies, giving medications, and providing positive playful environment for all dog at every energy level. My husband is a dog trainer and loves dogs just as much as I do. I have Saturdays and Sundays off and I can also be available Friday afternoons if needed. If anything outside of this is needed just message and I can probably adjust my work schedule if needed. I understand having someone care over your pets can be fearful. I accommodate to your pets personality. If they need outside time to run and play, we will have a blast outdoors. If they prefer relaxing and playing indoors with shorter outdoor trips I am also a great fir for that. My pets have their own area upstairs. So the downstairs space will be for dog sitting.
About: I’ve always loved animals, (especially cats, I’m a huge cat person), so I’ve had at least one or two ever since I was little, and throughout the years I’ve learned how to take care of them. I’ve also owned a few dogs here and there, including a chihuahua. (I have more experience with small dogs.) As of now, I am completely free all Monday through Sunday, so feel free to book me whenever. There are times I do go to church on Sundays around 1:30pm to 3, so anytime after would work. I can take care of animals indoors. I have an animal gate to help prevent them from going upstairs and having access to the stairs.
“Longest time ever leaving Peach and First time visit with Carol. Very challenging with Peach’s anxiety during constant thunderstorms. Carol and husband, Marc, we’re terrific! Wrapped her in her thunder coat and kept her as calm as possible. She couch potatoed with Carol and even took over her bed at night. She was happy and relaxed in their home when I picked her up. Will definitely send her again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Alexandria home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Alexandria.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Alexandria sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
