“Micaela is a trustworthy and extraordinary caretaker. Our elderly dog and two cats are a challenging brood that requires extra care and attention, and Micaela exceeded all our hopes.”

About: I am experienced in caring for dogs, cats, and some species of reptiles. As a stay-at-home mom and small business owner, I take pride in providing dependable and compassionate care for animals. I was fortunate to grow up around animals, from farm animals to my own childhood cat, which helped build my lifelong love and understanding of animal care. I have experience assisting with pregnant cats and caring for kittens, as well as working with dogs and cats that are blind or deaf. I’m also comfortable administering medications to both dogs and cats when needed. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and taking dogs for walks when the weather allows. While I am currently unable to offer boarding in my home, I am available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and potentially daycare services. I’m always happy to answer any questions and would love the opportunity to meet you and your companions. Meet-and-greets are welcome! Being a stay at home mom, means I'm home 24/7! (I think my fur babies loved this idea) Unless I need to run to the grocery store or run an errand. But I'm not usually home for more than a hour! My Reno’s feeding schedule is 8am & 8pm. I can fit your babes schedule in with his no worries! Itzel is a feed himself kinda guy. Wet food administered at bedtime. Reno’s potty times is usually every 3-4 hours unless he lets me know otherwise. I usually take one out at a time to give each the privacy. Taken out on a leash. If pets use a bed at home I recommend bringing it with them to make sure they're comfortable! Fur babies are kept inside. Your babies have the option to sleep on the couch, floor, bed, or in the open kennel. Whichever they prefer to feel comfortable.
About: I have a huge passion for dogs! I grew with dogs and cats in my household since I have been a child. My parents always had a dog and cats in their household. Currently have I three dogs of my own. I have German Shepherd, English Springer Spaniel, and a Chihuahua/Rat terrier mixed that was rescued from California. I have rescued many dogs and cats to safe local shelters in the area. Then done plenty of babysitting dogs for family and friends! All I can say is I just love dogs! I’m huge cat lover as well! I have lots cat experience and I’m always rescuing cats to good homes as well! Rescued two cats as well! Love my kitties! I work part time currently and I do have time to take care of other pets in my situation. This is a passion of mine! Willing to work week days and weekends! I don’t have fenced in your yard at this time. Your pet will be leashed when taking potty breaks or walks outside. I do have crate provided for your pet when sitting. I prefer pet sitting your horse and dog walking in your area where your house is located.
“Bailey did an amazing job with our pup! Our dog had special meal requirements which were executed flawlessly, and she sent us picture updates to assure us everything was going well. I highly recommend her for any pet sitting needs!”

About: Me and my family have been fostering dogs sense I was a kid. They've ranged from newborn puppies to senior dogs to disabled pups that need special care. Pet sitting is my full time job and I'm available most days. I have a passion for all animals and I'm always down to help them in my life. I have worked with disabled dogs so I'm always attentive to there needs. With my own to dogs I'm very good at picking up on body language and when they need potty breaks.
About: i've been taking care of my own animals since i was a child, That helped me to be responsible and create habits of care until now, i know how to bath animals, I love playing with them and spending time with them that fills my heart with a lot of joy. i have time to take care of pets and play with them on my weekends or even make them a walk plan, thats my day shifts on pet care for night shifts I am free at night mostly from friday to sunday since it is comfortable for me to have everything more organized. I take care of the animals in the apartment in different ways, they will never be caged or chained in my care, I have a playroom for animals and I usually take them out to the courtyard of the building at certain times to walk and relieve themselves. Also the pet I take care of will be accompanied by my little kitten which is very friendly

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Alexandria
We had an excellent experience with Brandon! He came in advance to meet our pets, had great communication throughout, and was patient and kind with our dogs. He even brought treats for them! Our job was a big one, four puppies in addition to our two, but he handled it all with ease and no issues. He also proactively asked if there was anything else we wanted taken care of while he was here. Arrived on time and made the whole process so easy and stress-free. Highly recommend!

We are so thankful that Kirsten was able to house sit for our pets while we were traveling. She kept us updated with photos and messages, so we knew they were healthy and happy! It was a huge relief knowing she was loving them, even picking up more of their favorite food when they ran out. We will recommend Kirsten to anyone needing a pet sitter and absolutely use her again!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alexandria walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alexandria maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alexandria choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
