“We are so grateful to have found Jessica for our pets’ care and highly recommend her pet sitting! This is a long review for anyone like me who is on the detailed side and bit of and over-planner and worrier, lol. Jessica was very professional, easy-going and knowledgeable when reviewing all of my complicated instructions for our pets and throughout the week that she cared for our three cats and our large dog. I was especially grateful for her thoroughness and communication style while going over all the additives and preparation for the food for our dog who is older and has several health conditions. It made us feel much more relaxed going on our trip knowing she had clarified any confusion with my copious notes on everything. Her updates and photos while we were gone were also very reassuring that all was going smoothly with our pets and our house. When we met ahead of the trip, our one kitty — who is usually skittish with everyone new — was immediately friendly to her and unafraid. All the other pets were also instantly comfortable with her. She definitely has a way with animals! They were all so happy when we came back — like they never felt things were too out of the ordinary. So wonderful! Also, we paid for the 60-minute visits and it was so worth it for the extra time she was able to spend with them each day (and to allow enough time for the multi-step food prep for our dog). She was also flexible in working with us to set up the schedule for the week and then timely and dependable for all the visits. Once again, she was just so professional and we highly recommend hiring Jessica for any pet sitting you need!”
“Emma is a great sitter for my very energetic dogs and also communicated wonderfully. My one dog was very stubborn about getting back into the kennel, but Emma was patient and even reached out to see if there were any tips. She did so well, I'm booking her for weekly visits.”

“Taylor was so great! She came right at the times requested which I really appreciated as he is a puppy and I don’t like to leave him crated for long. I loved the picture updates and knew he was in great hands! I love that she played with him too. 🙂 That was a long day for Ruger but was calm and happy when everyone got home. We will definitely have Taylor back again!”

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is my strong experience working with dogs and puppies of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels. I’ve been caring for animals since I was young, starting with pets belonging to family and friends, which helped me build a solid foundation of hands-on experience with dogs in everyday home environments. I’m especially comfortable with puppies and understand the patience and consistency they need while learning routines like potty training, crate training, leash walking, and basic commands. I also enjoy helping reinforce positive behaviors through structure, repetition, and lots of encouragement. For adult dogs, I adapt easily to their personality—whether they are high-energy and need plenty of exercise or more relaxed and prefer a calm routine. I also have experience with senior dogs who may need a slower pace, medication reminders, and extra attention to comfort and mobility. I pay close attention to each dog’s individual needs, including feeding schedules, exercise requirements, and behavioral cues, so they feel secure and understood while in my care. My goal is always to create a safe, trusting environment where dogs feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for. I also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you always know how your pet is doing while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, especially with my availability in the afternoons and evenings. Since I work part time, I have ample time during the day to give pets the attention, exercise, and care they need. I enjoy spending my evenings going on walks, which would make it easy and consistent for me to provide daily exercise and outdoor time. I also look forward to using my free time for play, feeding, and bonding activities that help build trust and comfort with pets. In my home or a client’s home, I provide pet care with consistency, attentiveness, and respect for the animal’s routine and comfort level. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, portion sizes, medication instructions if needed, and any specific preferences the owner provides. I make sure pets always have fresh water, regular meals, and a clean, safe environment. I prioritize daily exercise and enrichment through walks, playtime, and interaction suited to the pet’s age, energy level, and personality. I also focus on building trust through calm, patient handling and positive attention. In a client’s home, I am mindful of maintaining the space exactly as instructed, keeping things clean and secure, and making sure the pet feels comfortable in their familiar environment. I understand the importance of routine, so I do my best to keep things as normal and stress-free as possible for the pet while their owner is away. Overall, my approach is to care for each pet as if they were my own—providing reliable, loving, and responsible care tailored to their individual needs
About: Hi! I’m a nursing student who loves staying active, and dog walking/drop-in visits fit perfectly into my routine. I’m very reliable, detail-oriented, and used to caring for others—so you can trust that your pet will be safe and well taken care of. I’m happy to follow your pet’s exact routine, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or giving medications (if needed). During every visit, I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, and I always send updates with photos so you feel comfortable while you’re away. I’m available for dog walking and drop-in visits, and I do my best to be flexible with scheduling. I also try to respond quickly to messages! I’d love to meet you and your pet 🐶💕 Pet care is something I intentionally build into my routine each week. I keep a structured schedule as a nursing student and nursing assistant, so I plan my days to ensure I’m available, on time, and able to give each pet my full attention. Walks and drop-in visits fit perfectly with my active lifestyle, and I genuinely enjoy spending that time with animals. I’m not able to host pets in my home, but I provide dependable care in clients’ homes through drop-in visits and walks. I stick closely to each pet’s routine and make sure they’re safe, comfortable, and well cared for, with regular updates and photos.
“Had Kendall watch over my cat for two weeks. Fantastic job. Always communicated and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. Make sure to hire when you need someone to look after your animal”

“Maddie quickly won over all of our cats, even the most shy girl of the bunch! She is friendly, communicative, and observant of the pets in her care. I will definitely be booking Maddie in the future because I know our girls will be in great hands with her.”

“Artur is great. He loves cats as much as dogs. He is very conscientious. My cat loves to play with him. Artur sweeps up the litter up and recycles my cans. He saw my desk that I bought still in the box and he put it together for me. He is a Ukrainian immigrant but his English is good. I highly recommend him.”

I would love to walk or care for your fur-baby. I understand the sacred bond that an owner has with their animals, so you can trust and believe that your dog will be treated with the utmost love, respect and professionalism. “Michele was great watching our 2 large dogs for 2 days while we were out of town. She communicated the whole time with updates and photos. Gave great peace of mind!”

About: Hi! I’ve taken care of and loved on family, friend’s and neighbor’s dogs for approx. 20 years when needed. Including walking, feeding, potty breaks, even medications . We had 2 large dogs that have both since passed but I have so much more love for your pets! We have a cat, Toby, for 6 years therefore I’m familiar with cat care also. I would love the opportunity to care for your pet! I work in schools so I’m out for the summer and available most days of the week. I have a flexible schedule right now. Pets in my clients home will be taken care of according to the pet owners instructions and stay only in the area the pet is allowed in.
“I can’t recommend Isabel highly enough! From the moment we first met, I felt completely at ease leaving my fur baby in her care. During my time away, Isabel provided regular updates, complete with adorable photos. She was always prompt in communication, answering my text and sharing insights about how my fur babies were doing. It was clear that she went above and beyond, ensuring that my fur boys were happy and comfortable. When I returned, my cats were calm and content - an obvious sign of the loving care they received. I couldn’t be happier with the service provided, and I’ll definitely be booking Isabel again for future trips! Thank you so much for taking such great care of my fur babies!”

About: Experience with dogs of different sizes as well as with cats. I used to have 5 dogs at once. All with different needs. Very flexible and will acclimate to whatever your pet needs! Will make sure they get their food (and treats, if allowed) as well as all the necessary pets!
“Jayson did absolutely amazing with my 3 pups this week and they get excited to see him for their drop in visits! I’m glad they didn’t scare him away so he can keep doing drop in visits with them 🐶🐶🐶”

About: I have always been around dogs but have not found my furever friend yet. I enjoy volunteering at animal shelters and watching dogs for friends and coworkers. Hello! As a teacher, I am available after school around 4pm and all the time on the weekends. I enjoy drop ins, walks, and overnight stays. In clients homes & my own, I ensure that the dog has ample human interaction time. I live in an apartment and prefer to watch animals in their own home but they are welcome in my own. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alcony. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
