“Frances is incredibly kind and truly loves pets. She took wonderful care of ours, and her service was absolutely a 10/10. We look forward to using her services again in the future.”

“Katarina is incredible with our two rescues that can have abandonment problems. She sends such great pictures at every visit that shows how much our dogs love her. She’s quick to respond and helps with whatever the dogs need. She’s incredible!”

“We instantly felt comfortable and safe leaving our 2 pups with Megan. No accidents in the house from our Yorkie Poo means he never felt mad or lonely being left in her care. There is such attention to detail from sending pictures to keeping up with their eating and bathroom behaviors. We will definitely be rebooking services in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals even babies my whole life I even had pets of my own that I cared for very much I had a ferret that was loved by everyone in the house. The only schedule I have is that I can only work every weekday after 4 and every weekend I’m free at any time to work. For my ferret there were certain areas in the house she was not allowed in such as the washroom and the kitchen, those places for her was very dangerous we put up baby gates for her safety and for our concern

About: Little Angel's dog boarding specializes in small dogs. Hello my name is Jessica and I am a dog owner and lover.I decided to work with dogs because I really enjoy being around of them.Every time I go out of town and leave our dog I feel very worried about him. I start thinking about who is going to watch him and become very worried. So I started to think that I love dogs and would be the perfect person to watch someone else’s little angel. My house is 100 % fenced with a 6 foot fence, I have a nice sized backyard.I live in a nice neighborhood safe for taking walks.I also have some grooming training, I personally cut our dog's hair. My dog is a French Poodle so it requires some skill to groom him. I have never worked as a professional groomer. I did my training exclusively for my dog, he is very spoiled and he used to cry so much when somebody else even brushed his hair. I decided to get the training to keep him happy. For an extra cost I can offer baths including ear cleaning. For me safety and comfort is of paramount importance.Your dog will have access to the backyard but will sleep inside of the house. I encourage owners to bring their dogs bed and favorite toy so they will feel a little more like they are at home.Your dog will get two daily walks and also play time in the backyard.Your dog will receive lots of attention all day long. I am doing this because I love animals but especially dogs!I can take pictures so you can see how your dog is doing. We can even schedule a skype video chat so you can see your dog in case you miss him as much as I miss my little guy when I am away.Dogs who stay for 5 days or more receive a toy to take home. I love all kinds of dogs but I have some restrictions for now. I can only watch dogs less than 20 pounds and I can’t dog sit a Rottweiler or Pitbull. This is because I have a little girl and my dog is a toy size so I am worried about their safety.I can’t love your dog like you do, but I promise he will be loved.Hablo espanol.

About: I have been passionate about caring for animals from a young age, often taking in and helping stray cats whenever possible. I have an 8 year old Rat Terrier who is in excellent health. I manage his daily feeding, regular walks, grooming, and give him vet checks when needed. I have two cats that I rescued as strays, providing them with a safe and stable home. I also care for a bearded dragon, including maintaining her habitat and breeding Dubia roaches to ensure she has a consistent, nutritious food source along with her vegetables. Through these experiences I feel that I have developed strong skills in animal care and responsibility. I currently work a full-time morning position and am available for pet care services between 2:00 PM and 11:00 PM, seven days a week, with some mornings. I’m also flexible and willing to adjust my schedule or request time off when needed to provide attentive, consistent care for your pets while you’re away. I live in a pet friendly apartment with my own dog and cats, and I’m able to safely walk and care for pets without issue. I like to keep my home calm and secure for my animals, with close attention to their comfort, daily routines and habits. I also have experience managing behaviors such as stress chewing, and I use solutions like crate training when appropriate to ensure both the pet’s safety and the condition of the home. If similar situations occur while caring for a client’s pet, I am confident in my ability to respond responsibly and maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment at all times.
About: I was raised with cats and dogs. I read a dog training book when I was in high school. I have always been mission-oriented, and today's mission is to ensure your pets are looked after and that you are confident they are safe and healthy. My schedule revolves around animals. If I'm not spending time with my dogs, then it's my mom's dogs. If it's not her dogs, then it's chickens. (Dogs are more fun, have you tried playing fetch with a chicken?) I will care for your pets with the same love and affection I provide to my own dogs, excluding any rough-housing since my dogs tend to play quite boisterously. I will diligently follow all instructions to the best of my abilities and will communicate promptly if I encounter any difficulties, seeking an alternative solution.
“Noleen watched my cats over the Thanksgiving holiday. She was absolutely amazing! She checked in with me every time as she was headed to the cats, sent daily photos, took care of their daily business, and even brought them new toys!”

About: I've pet sat locally for dogs, cats, and even fish, and I have two mini dachshunds and a cat of my own. Being a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to have someone you can trust. I treat every pet like family, stick to their routine, and always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages for peace of mind🐱❤️ I am currently working part time so I will have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I am typically free throughout the week as long as it does not clash with my work schedule. Your pets’ safety and happiness is my top priority. I always aim to making sure that my time spent with your animals is safe and full of fun!
“Very communicative, did great with our pups, responded quickly. Sent photos and my pups loved her! Would definitely recommend her and will use her in the future if she is available.”

About: I have volunteer experience for 3 years at my aunts vet . I would walk, groom, feed, and play with the dogs. The job was amazing, no dog left unhappy! I am a full time worker, my schedule does not extend the whole day. I only work 4-5 days out the week. I am a full time student with classes online. I care for all the pets the same. Each pet will get the best treatment. I treat as if their my own. Especially special needed dogs. If there are instructions on what a pet needs or can not have, it will be followed through and taking seriously. I go by the owners schedule.
“Jeanie made sure I was updated on our pups with each visit and sent photos/videos to help reassure me they were being loved on and played with at each visit. She was quick to respond to communications and in asking any questions to ensure she cared for Sophie and Duke well!”

“This is my first time using Rover. Cassidy was great! She eased my worries about my cats while I was traveling! She kept me informed with the pictures she posted. She even left them with some new toys that even got my 7 year old cat playing! My 7 year old cat, who is very shy with strangers, even came out of hiding to meet her! I will definitely use Cassidy again when I travel! Thank you Cassidy!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Albany
Frances is amazing! Having her pet-sit for us was like having a very informed, professional, family member take care of our cat. She reached out before we left to familiarize herself with Elssie's schedule and sent plenty of photos to keep us updated. My husband and I felt like we could trust her fully, and we hope that she'll be available the next time we need someone to pet-sit!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
