“5 stars all the way! I had ALOT of rules since my pup was not fully vaccinated yet and it was the first time leaving him. She accommodated everything. We were able to enjoy our getaway and came home to happy puppy and a very clean home. Thank you once again!”

“Jennifer took excellent care of my two special needs senior dogs while we were out of town. I have two anxious pups who take several medications at odd times of the day and I’m personally very anxious to leave my dogs in anyone’s care. As soon as I met Jennifer I noticed she had a very calming presence and asked several questions that immediately made me feel at ease. She was very familiar with anxious dogs and gave my dogs the space they needed to get comfortable. While we were away, Jennifer was able to keep my pups calm and taken care of and provided several pictures and updates. I am very grateful for the time and care she provided and will definitely be reaching out to have her help with my girls the next time we are away.”
“Stephanie was amazing! She cared for our dog, Ruckus, for 3 days. Ruckus is a senior, special needs dog who requires a lot of medical support, supervision, assistance, and attention. I was concerned about leaving him in the care of someone and was uncertain we'd find someone to give him all the same attention he receives at home, but Stephanie put our minds at ease. She took incredible care of him, sent us regular pictures and updates, and followed all of the (extensive) instructions we left for her. Stephanie is trustworthy, kind, reliable, patient, and knowledgeable. Her passion and love for animals shows in her work, and I would highly recommend her to anyone I know. I will certainly be using Stephanie's services in the future!”

“Kat has stayed with our pets while we were on vacation, now for the second time. She’s been great both times and we could not recommend her more! Kat will always be our first choice in pet sitters, she gives updates and sends pictures and takes such good care of our animals!”

“This was our first experience with Bryan. Throughout the whole process Bryan was extremely professional and caring. He made it a point to get down on our pet's level to help them feel comfortable. He sent several photos and videos which helped us enjoy our time away. We will defiantly be reaching out to Bryan again for future house sitting needs!”

“Our dogs are 9 years old and have only been left with trusted family members, so utilizing Rover was a big step for us. Trisha cared for them beyond our expectations! She kept us regularly updated and gave us the confidence that our fur babies were in very good and loving hands. We will absolutely book with Trisha again.”

“This is the second booking we have done with Bethany this year. She communicates well, send pics and video, and has done well buddying up with one of our reluctant dogs.”

“Allison was amazing with our pittie mix rescue who was a stray for 2 years and can be anxious and skittish. She immediately loved Allison (more so than she even loves us, I was joking with my husband) and even went to sleep while Allison was watching her which is unheard of for our dog. Highly recommend, Allison is truly a dog whisperer!”

About: Born and raised with a love of all the furry friends! This is my full time thing and I care for horses too! I gained experience working with my mother who was a vet tech, breeder, trainer, and showed multiple breeds. Raised on a horse farm. My sister and cousin are also both vet techs that are close easy contacts if ever I have a need or question. I am detailed, organized and a patient Pet Sitter. My history, outgoing demeanor, time management skills, along with my love of animals, make me uniquely qualified to care for pets of all kinds. I currently have a dalmatian (my personal doggy assistant making all pups feel comfy) and a pug mix are unbelievably friendly to all animals and humans alike. I care for pets in all age ranges and breeds from Great Danes to Pomeranians. I'm experienced with even the high energy or "difficult" pups and provide them with a safe environment to learn good manners, develop social skills, and have the opportunity to get out all their energy. Your pups don't just get care but I work with all the pups whether its leash training, fence reactivity, potty training, and/or basic commands. Depending on the pup I can provide baths and/or nail trimming but top notch grooming care I highly recommend Bark and Beyond! Christine is the best! I am home full time. I am very flexible with drop in/off times, meet and greets, and readily available to whatever your specific pet needs may be. I provide it all so no sweating over the details. Toys, crates, dog beds, bowls of all kinds, a splash pad, seperate spaces if needed, puppy only zone, and lots of love is all included. I have an ENORMOUS fenced in yard and a doggy door so the pups get to come and go from the house to the yard as the please. Plus with 2 fur babies of my own to keep your pup company. Both get along fantastically with new animal and human friends! I am open to potty training, and crating if needed.
About: I attended school to become a veterinary technician and now following my dream working in an amazing clinic ! I am use to working with all kinds of animals. I also offer pet sitting to many clients and friends! Pet care fits into my schedule extremely well because I am able to not only have eyes on my personal pets as they are allowed to come to work with me, but help out with other when needed! At my home my dog is able to be outside ( on a run) and enjoy his time out there! My cats stay inside as they are less sociable during the day! When In clients homes, I offer times (indoor or outdoor) to play.
About: I had a border Collie for 17 years now an American shepherd for 1.5 years and he's fully trained already he's great just still a pup. Currently I work part time for an Amish company and I do morning pick ups and evening drop off with Thursday me being at the job all day. With time in advance I can move stuff around if need be. Im basically free all week during the times everyone is working. Well my dog i train and make sure he's behaving before he gets a reward. I don't always make him do stuff for tricks, but I practice commands daily and when it's not raining we go on walks, unfortunately he gets car sick so long drives aren't great for him still. I hug him tell him he's great tell him when he's done something bad as well, Play with toys and I'm currently working on him knowing what toy I'm telling him to get

FAQs for House Sitting - Ailston
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,699 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ailston. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ailston walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ailston maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ailston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ailston. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
