About: I've grown up with multiple dogs and pets my entire life, so caring for animals has always been a part of who I am. I got my own dog while I was in college two years ago, and she is truly my pride and joy. Being a pet owner has shown me how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your furry family member. I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or sticking to their normal routine, I'm committed to giving your pet the attention and care they deserve. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your baby is in good hands I recently graduated from college and completed a summer internship with JPMorgan, where I'll be returning full-time next summer. In the meantime, I'll be completing my MBA online, which gives me a very flexible schedule. Because my classes are online, I'm available throughout the day for walks, drop-in visits, playtime, and overnight care. I'm happy to work with your schedule and provide reliable, consistent care for your pet Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family member, and I'll treat them with the same love and attention I give my own dog. I'll follow your pet's routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions to help them feel comfortable while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with messages and photos, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in caring and dependable hands.

Heidi was great with Kona! We asked her to stay at our house for 3 nights with our lab who has some anxiety issues when left alone. She sent us lots of pictures, was great at communicating throughout the visit, was extremely friendly and left our house just like we left it! Kona seemed super happy and relaxed when we got back which is always a great sign. ☺️ We would definitely recommend Heidi to any family and friends!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Kathleen! She came all the way from Maryland to Philadelphia to care for my dog, Rocco, over the past two weeks during Thanksgiving, and she was absolutely incredible. Every day, she sent me pictures of a happy and content Rocco, and it was clear he was in the best hands. I left Kathleen with multiple pages of instructions, and she followed everything to the letter. Not only did she take phenomenal care of Rocco, but she also left my home spotless. I’m almost hesitant to write this review because Kathleen is such a gem that I don’t want anyone else to book her up before I can. She’s truly amazing, and I can't recommend her highly enough!

What can I say about Christine? She was a godsend! After losing my beloved dog, I wanted to adopt another one after my family vacation. But when I saw my current puppy up for adoption, I immediately fell in love with him because he reminded me of my previous soul dog. I applied for adoption, and the shelter approved us. They allowed us to adopt my beloved Charlie if we could find a reliable dog sitter to watch him while I was away. I picked up Charlie just 2 days before my trip, and I was really worried about my brand-new, scared little puppy. But Christine went above and beyond with my baby. She stayed at my house with him the whole time, took great care of him, and gave him so much love. During my trip, she noticed he was coughing and even offered to take him to my vet — and she did. I highly recommend Christine to anyone looking for someone with the gift of caring and giving genuine love to your best friend :)

About: Ive taken care of many animals my whole life ive owned a few dogs one of which was born deaf and i had one who went blind at an early age so i know how to handle special need dogs and other pets and have been dog-sitting and cat-sitting for many people since I was 12, I love all animals and will take care of them as if they were my own. I am experienced with young puppies and senior dogs. I am also experienced with dogs that suffer from separation anxiety. I am also very good at sending lots of pictures and daily updates of your fur babies! I am currently working part time at a med spa and I make my own schedule so I will have plenty of flexible time in my day to spend with your pets for whenever you need. I have 2 dogs of my own at home although I do not offer other pets to stay at my home due to having a sensitive senior dog of my own who was born deaf and is now partially blind. I will however be able to stay at your home with your fur babies and even do overnight and extended visits for however long you will need them to be watched. I also will clean up any mess your pets will make because I know how chaotic it may be so please leave out any cleaning supplies I may need.

About: Military family, Love to go for long runs and would love to bring your puppers along! We have 5 beautiful kitties at home. Cats have my heart, but I love all animals!! I worked as a volunteer at a local pet shelter while in college. I do work full time locally in Human Resources. Very clean, respected family with tons of references. I have been pet sitting/ walking for over 10 years now. If you have any special request or questions please feel free to send me a message. My rates are not set in stone I know how hard it is finding decent care for your fur babies and I try to work with every family to give them the best affordable care! I currently work full time, however it’s locally. I am available for evening or morning walks, drop in care. On weekends I can be free to drop in multiple times. When giving care in your home I will do a meet and greet. I ask the owner to please type out care instructions, and provide vet information in case of an emergency. I will send daily updates and photos!

We booked Sarah to stay & watch our two dogs for a weekend away and she was perfect! I got picture/video updates a couple of times a day and she kept me up to date on how things were going throughout the day. She was a fantastic house guest as well - she even did her dishes, gathered her bedding/towels, and made sure the space was tidy. Communication, responsiveness, and overall experience was 10/10 for us! We will definitely be using Sarah again!

What a delight it was to have faith watch our four year-old golden retriever! It put me at ease knowing our Doggo was being well cared for. Faith did a wonderful job with communication starting from a meet and greet all the way to letting us know when she was leaving. She went above and beyond with check-ins and photos to washing and remaking the bedbefore she left. We will definitely be using Faith again for our future trips.

About: I have over 30 years in pet care industry. I Have raised , trained and shown dogs for over 15 years. I was a groomer for 10 + years. I have managed an animal shelter and took in many rescues. Pets are my life and love my job very much. I can administer medications including injections. I look forward to meeting new clients as well as caring for existing clients. I am a full time caregiver. My kids are all grown and on their own so I have plenty of time to spend with your furbaby. I have two separate fenced in yards for outdoor playtime activity. I live in a mobile home community. The entire property is privacy fenced backed with chain link for double security. There is plenty of space for all size dogs to exercise. I have the ability to spend one on one time with your pet or group play other dogs of similar temperament and size. I am experience in doggy daycare settings with 20 plus dogs at one time. I look forward to caring for your precious baby the way I would want my own pups cared for. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule that allows plenty of time to spend with your fur baby. All of our guests have a great time during their stay. Please note: If you are 30 minutes or more past your selected drop off time and you have not reached out to us we will consider this a no show. After an hour with no communication your spot will no longer be available. Communication is extremely important as is punctuatality. We plan our time based on your choices on drop off and pick up times. We do not sit around all day waiting for you to decide to show up or not. It's extremely frustrating for us when there is lack of communication. Thank you for understanding. I have a 6ft high privacy fenced in yard. I separate my personal dogs except for a couple that love to play with other dogs. We do not require meet greets. If you absolutely feel it is necessary we have a limited time slot of 15 minutes and will only accommodate if we have the availability. If you are 5 or more minutes late you will have to reschedule. We take time away from our guests and private time from our families to offer this service. Due to most dogs being temperamentally different when owners are present verses in their absence it really isn't a necessary action to determine your pups stay. I will introduce other dogs only when a new guests has become comfortable with me and my husband. Then we introduce one at a time. This can sometimes take an hour or a day depending on the individual. We require dogs to be crate trained as we crate all dogs even our own for feeding, sleeping and if we need to leave the house. We have a family member that lives in our home. He is there 24/7 so your pup is never left alone. I spend as much time out doors playing with our guests as possible, weather permitting. Indoors is more of quiet time. I do allow guest on the furniture so if that is not something permitted at please let me know. Please be aware this is MY home not a public facility. There may be crates set up in the Livingroom for current guests. I provide toys, bedding, crates and bowls. All crates have a water bucket. You will be required to provide food, treats and medications if needed No pick ups and drops off before 5:00 am and after 8:00 pm. Please schedule your dates accordingly. Please try to stick to your requested pick up and drop off times. While I am flexible I do make plans around the times you selected. If you need to change those times please try to give advance notice so I can plan accordingly. Communication is imperative to have a successful client relationship.

Erica was truly beyond incredible—hands down the best dog sitter we’ve ever had for our two golden retrievers. From the moment we left, it was clear how genuinely loving and attentive she was; our dogs absolutely adored her. She went far above and beyond by sending frequent photo updates (without being asked), which gave us so much peace of mind and showed just how happy and comfortable they were. She stayed with them nearly the entire time, treating them like her own, and it made all the difference. You can’t fake that level of care—it was obvious in every interaction and update. We would recommend Erica to anyone without hesitation and will 100% be using her again.

Chandler and Bryan did a fantastic job taking care of our dog, Spinach. We were able to go on vacation with peace of mind that he was in good hands. We really appreciated the daily report and picture. We missed our boy but it made traveling much easier knowing that he was able to stay in our home with someone we trusted and he felt comfortable with.

Leaving our dog, Coco, for a week is never easy—especially since he requires extra care—but Kayla made the entire experience so much easier. She stayed in our home, kept his routine consistent, and handled all of his medications and supplements with great attention and care. Knowing Coco was able to remain in his own environment while being looked after so thoughtfully gave us real peace of mind. Kayla was dependable, communicative, and genuinely compassionate, which truly showed in how well Coco was cared for. We’re incredibly grateful for the level of care she provided and would absolutely trust her again. We highly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Aikin

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Aikin on Rover is $40 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,154 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Aikin. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Aikin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Aikin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aikin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Aikin. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
