“Joy is a wonderful dog sitter! So caring, reliable, and attentive. Our dog was happy and well cared for, and the updates gave us great peace of mind. Highly recommend!”

“This was my first time using Sharon and all went well. She sent photos and videos of Lily and took Lily on frequent walks. She was quick to respond to my texts. I really appreciate Sharon’s responsible and professional nature. And when I picked up Lily at the end of her stay, Sharon gifted her a bag of treats and toys and a thank you note! I will definitely use Sharon again.”
“Rolanda was amazing! She kept me updated and sent pictures of Chloe throughout her stay! I can tell that Chloe was comfortable with her and she came back just as happy as she was before i dropped her off! I would definitely book with Rolanda again!”
“We can’t thank Debra & Michael enough for taking the best care of our Emme girl! I could tell from the minute I met them how amazing they were. I couldn’t have found a better couple to take care of our girl. Thank you so much!!! ❤️”

About: We have always had dogs since i was a little girl. I am now 48, four grown children and divorced. I have the time and desire to care for other animals. Dogs love me as they are a great judge of character. I have dogs sat for weeks at a time. I enjoy playing with them as Im still a kid at heart. I don't mind a clingy animal as I love the affection. I have trained my dog to speak, high five and most recently ride with me on my Harley! I am disabled so I do not work outside the home. I wake up around 9am, let my dog out to go potty. Give him breakfast and flea prevention meds. I try to play with him in the house for twenty minutes a day. As his type of breed, he needs to burn off energy. I let him out for exercise and a bathroom rig, at least four times during the day. I put him to bed around 9pm. Some nights, he sleeps with me, other nights he gets crated. I have a fenced in yard, with room to play. My scooby enjoys playing with other dogs. Scooby gets crated when he is not supervised and sometimes overnight. I have no problem trading other pets. I do have a sleeping room for pets who are not crated. I would prefer to dog sit overnight in the client's home. I own a cleaning business with five stars. So I am well trusted in the community.
“Christian was great with my pup! I always feel guilty leaving my pup with others because I know she’s used to a lot of attention and specialized care that I provide, but Christian was able to provide frequent updates and followed all of my extra instructions. Thanks for taking care of my puppy and going above and beyond!!!”

“I had Julie watch our very shy yellow lab. We are planning a vacation and I need our dog to get use to Julies house. Julie and her husband were really wonderful, we did a meet and greet first and then a over night stay. They have a completely fenced yard, couches have covers on them for a dog to sit on and a baby gate to prevent a dog from accidentally going out the front door.”

“Haley is great! my Rusty seem to really enjoy his time with Haley and her family. They welcomed him into their home and he was a happy puppy when I picked him up. we would absolutely love to use Haley‘s services in the future”

About: Every pet has feelings, a unique personality, and a need to feel loved. I believe pet sitting is more than just feeding and watching animals. It’s about making sure your furry friend feels safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. I’ll treat your pet with patience, kindness, and attention, taking the time to understand their needs and make them feel at home. Your pet deserves more than a sitter. They deserve someone who truly cares. I work from home full-time, allowing me to provide consistent supervision, attention, and care throughout the day. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate each pet’s individual needs, including feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship. I strive to maintain your pet’s usual routine while ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I provide pet care exclusively in my own home, which has a fenced-in yard where pets can enjoy outdoor time under supervision. I also have a friendly small dog, and I understand that meeting a new dog can take time. I’ll make introductions slowly and patiently, always prioritizing each pet’s comfort and keeping a close eye on their interactions. I want every pet to feel safe, relaxed, and welcome. My goal is to provide a clean, loving environment where your furry friend can enjoy a true home away from home while you’re away.
“Jennifer did an awesome job with our dog,Lola! She was very flexible to help us out, due to an unexpected need! Jennifer always kept us in the loop with how our dog was doing— whether it was a message in the inbox or pictures! She was very professional and I would highly recommend her services!”

“Alicia was great. My puppy just got spayed recently and needed to take meds to help with recovery and she was able to administer them as scheduled which made me feel at ease. She was great with her and I would definitely use her service again”

“My wife and I recently rescued a puppy after making travel plans months earlier. Because our puppy Sophie was still too young for full vaccinations, we were not able to board her with a doggy daycare, and we didn’t have any friends or family available to care for her during our trip. We used Rover to find Teresa, and were grateful that we did. We met with her about 2 weeks before our trip, so she and our puppy could meet. The first meeting went well, and we were confident with our choice to have her take care our puppy during that visit. While Teresa had Sophie, she sent us regular updates, photos, and video of her playing and being happy. She helped reinforce the commands that were working on and assisted with continued leash and potty training. Sophie had a great time with Teresa, her dog Ollie, and grand-dog Dunkin. We are very happy with our experience and extremely grateful to Teresa. We will absolutely recommend her to anyone that needs this kind of boarding service, and will definitely reach out to Teresa again in the future! Thanks for everything!”

About: Special Education Teacher with a love of animals. Patient, kind, understanding, flexible. Originally from Chicago, from cats, to squirrels, to dogs, to hummingbirds, to bunnies, to bearded dragons, I have the heart for sending animals in need to a rescue center, and/or homing. Animals deserve love and care, no matter their personality. I strive to respect you as a pet parent and your baby, following owner directions and askings. Just like my students, I treat every animal as if they are my own. Safety is my top priority, as well as communication and transparency. Currently open for the Thanksgiving week and weekend because of being a teacher. After Dec 1 I will be available before 6:30am, evenings, and weekends. I have a degree in general and special education and am very patient with animals and like to know everything the owner can tell me, and respect the animal. Having an antisocial pet with trauma, I respect her and love her as much as my others because she deserves it. I am very careful and take care of animals as if they were my own, just like I do with the children in my classroom.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
