“Rodney truly loves animals. He put me at ease, answering all my questions quickly. My dogs have never been boarded, one is 13 and the other 3. We initially did a meet and greet and I knew they would be in amazing hands. We did an overnight and they never looked back when he walked them into the house. Lol Put my mind at ease. Definitely sending them to Rodney and Marissa again. 😊”
“Mila is a great fit for our dog Ramona, who is a companion dog and loves to be with people but is a bit afraid of other dogs. Mila sends updates and pictures throughout the stay and we feel confident that Ramona is well cared for while we are away. This was Ramona's second stay with Mila and we already have another booking with her. We love Mila!”

“So glad we found Ashley! She was so accommodating from the start. We felt so at ease knowing we could leave our fur baby in a loving home where she’d get lots of love and attention. We will use her again!”

“James and Mary are my lifesavers. They are always so flexible and understanding and take the best care of my dog. Once again they have taken the dogsitter stress out of the equation making my trip even more enjoyable. Cant say enough wonderful things❤️”
“What a wonderful, loving family to leave your fur baby with! Tater had a ball swimming and running around the farm! Heather sent me so many pictures and I could tell he was getting so much love and attention. I can’t thank you enough!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”

“Very nice, great rate, beautiful lovong space and dog park on theroof of their apartment. Sent lots of pics. Said my dog was great, even though j know sometimes.he can be a pain... book her!!!”

“I’m always nervous to leave my dog with someone new but they were great to work with, communicative and always answered any questions I had about how Abbey was doing. They have a lovely home with a sunroom and amazing backyard perfect for curious doggos wanting to stare at birds and chipmunks all day. Thank you for looking over my fur baby!”

“Brittanie and Ryan took wonderful care of our dog and gave her lots of love. Great communication and pictures. We would strongly recommend them to any dog owners.”

“Kassandra proved to be the best sitter we've encountered in the years we have been using Rover's services. She goes out of her way to make your pet really feel special and part of her family. Our pet is looking forward to his next stay with and her family who's partnership works well in creating the perfect environment. She keeps you fully up to date with what's going on with your pet.”

“Theresa and Lyv were the absolute best watching our baby Misa for the week. Theresa sent so many pictures and updates throughout the week and I could tell Misa was having such a great time with them. She loved curling in bed with Lyv and being the diva that she is! It was really good to be able to relax while away knowing she was in good hands. Last minute, Misa had a skin flare up the weekend before we dropped her off and Theresa was able to medicate her and keep a watchful eye so she was all better by the time we picked her up. Can’t say enough good things about Theresa, will 100% use her again when we need a sitter!”

“We recently had to board our dog, Coco, with Joyce on very short notice due to a family emergency. We can’t thank her enough for her incredible care and support during this difficult time. From the moment we dropped Coco off, it was clear she was in good hands. Joyce was attentive, kind, and made sure Coco felt comfortable and loved. We truly appreciate the extra effort Joyce put into making our pup feel at home. We’ll definitely be returning for future boarding needs. Thank you, Joyce, for being such a wonderful host!”

“This was our second time booking and Jessica was once again AMAZING with our Chance. He loves her and vice versa! We will always leave our fur baby with her.”

“I was a little apprehensive about my move because we were leaving our regular sister who we loved. However, this recent stay with Keyona has eased all anxiety and I’m so glad we found her. She was extremely detailed in care, sent lots of videos and pics and checked in with you on how they were doing. Mine is a bit finicky with food in new environments sometimes (she’d rather go play than eat lol). Keyona kept me up to date on how she ate and even offered her fresh food toppers that helped her eat more. My baby is a level 5 clinger and from the updates it looks like she got lots of love and cuddles. She’s back home now, happy and exhausted after a weekend of fun! We can’t wait to utilize her services again.”

“I really had a great experience with Jamella she was professional a she really took time too get a clear understanding about pepper’s routine I will highly recommend”

“Olga was an awesome sitter for my cat! This is my first time using Rover and it was a great experience. She sent me videos and pics that reassured me about my cat. Will use again if needed.”

“Brianna was so amazing. It’s hard to find a baby sitter that I trust to watch my baby. I have a small yorkie and not everyone feels comfortable with watching her but Brianna was ready for the task and went above and beyond with taking care of her. I felt like I had a peace of mind knowing that she was in good hands. When it was time to pick her up she was so happy to see me but wasn’t ready to go home because she enjoyed her time so much.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Adams Chance
If you're at all apprehension about leaving your pets with a caregiver, message Michelle!!! This was our 1st experience with a stranger caring for our pets and we were extremely happy with Michelle and her family. She often sent photos and videos of our pets playing with her dogs and also her sweet little girls. They have a large fenced in back yard for the dogs to run and play. We would not hesitate to have Michelle care for our pets in the future. Thank you so much!!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Adams Chance home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Adams Chance.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Adams Chance sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
