“Jena & Nick were absolutely wonderful with our very nervous dog. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience with Rover. They went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and at ease. We loved receiving daily photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Their adorable pup, Sebastian, was the perfect playmate and helped make our dogs stay even more enjoyable. It’s clear that Jena and Nick genuinely care about the pets they watch and treat them like family. We can’t say enough positive things about them and would recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate pet sitters. Thank you!”

About: I'm a huge animal lover - big and small! I've had dogs and cats my whole life. We have a sweet cat who absolutely loves every dog that comes through our home. We currently have a Great Dane and Great Pyrenees as well as chickens, 1 guinea pig, 2 rabbits and fish. I'm all about making sure our babies are happy and healthy and living the best life we can provide to them. After doing much research and lots of experience, I've learned a lot about a dog's language and how to respect them. I will treat your pets as if they are my own and will love on them just the same. I can't wait to meet your fur-babies! Rover is my full time job right now so I’m available to take care of your pup throughout the day as need be, whether that’s just hanging out or a walk or potty break, etc. I have a large fenced in yard and our 2 dogs will gladly keep your pup company and enjoy running around. I can easily crate if need be as well.

Erin was very responsive and provided numerous photos and feedback every single day without prompting. Duke loved his time spent there and would highly recommend utilizing Erin in the future.”

“Ronda is an amazing dog sitter!! She was friendly with us as well as the dog. I felt confident after the play meet because she let our good dog kairi run around in every room and outside. The house was very clean, freshly scented and safe for dogs. We were sent pictures everyday without asking or bothering her. We had no complaints for a whole 9 days on vacation to California. We will always contact her for future dog sitting no matter the duration. We trust her and she’s a good, nice, modern, casual, and sweet person. Easy to talk with and recommend her for sure upon being strangers. Ronda watched our pitbull with confidence with all the true information about Kairi. It worked out. Thank you so much!!”

About: I have always had pets . I grew up helping my mother groom and take care of dogs. I would do anything for an animal. I am available all 24/7 everyday. I am willing to work any day of the week. I am availability because this is my only job, and I am passionate. I have been lucky enough to be raised with dogs my entire life. My family were breeders for standard poodles at one point, which was amazing to watch and learn about. I am no stranger to special needs, administering meds, able to provide short term care until help arrives. I love all dog breeds equally and will treat your dog like my own. This is my passion. I have 2 guest rooms that can be turned into private doggo apartments. If your pets need exercise I can provide. If they need relaxation, I love cuddles on the couch. We have crates of all sizes, beds for any size dog, dog gates for stairs, enough rooms to spread out and separate if needed, and live minutes away from a fenced in dog park. We live 3 minutes from 2 vet clinics and we use them for our own dogs. We have security cameras in the house with 2 way speakers if we need to step out for any reason. Please let us know about your dogs temperament with other dogs ahead of time. If your dog has special needs or quirks around certain people. We are happy to share our dogs food but would prefer food is delivered with the dog for stays. We are used to dogs that have a tendency to run if given the chance but appreciate heads up so we can be extra attentive.

About: Over the past 20 years, I’ve cared for three of my own dogs from puppyhood through their senior years, giving me firsthand experience with every stage of life—from potty training and high energy phases to gentle senior care. I’ve also raised kittens into senior cats, so I’m comfortable with feline personalities and needs as well. Beyond my own pets, I’ve regularly helped care for the dogs and cats of family and friends. I understand how important it is to have someone you trust looking after your pet, and I treat every animal in my care with the same patience, love, and attention I gave my own. As a stay-at-home mom, pet care fits very naturally into my daily schedule. I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to give pets consistent attention, maintain their routines, and provide a calm, present environment while you’re away. I know how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own space. I take a patient, gentle approach and pay close attention to each animal’s unique temperament—whether that means playtime and energy for a young pup or a quiet, reassuring presence for a shy cat. In addition to everyday care, I’m experienced in administering medications, including oral meds and insulin injections for diabetic cats. I understand how important consistency, attentiveness, and trust are when caring for pets with medical needs, and I’m confident providing that level of care. I’ve also been the go-to pet sitter for family and friends over the years, helping with walks, feedings, routines, and lots of affection. Every pet I care for is treated with the same love and attention I gave my own. My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind and your pet a calm, loving experience while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities, whether I’m caring for them in your home or welcoming them into mine. In my home, pets are treated like family. I have a friendly, well-socialized dog and cats who are accustomed to other animals, creating a calm and welcoming environment. I’m mindful of introductions and each pet’s personality to ensure everyone feels safe and at ease. Dogs are always leashed for daily walks, and I have a large yard that allows for extra exercise and playtime in a secure space. As a stay-at-home mom, I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to closely supervise pets, maintain their routines, and give them consistent attention and companionship. When caring for pets in your home, I’m respectful of your space and committed to keeping your pet’s routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions, and any special preferences you share. I also offer meet-and-greets before bookings so you and your pet can feel comfortable and confident. Building trust with both pets and their owners is very important to me, and I want you to feel completely at ease knowing your pet is in loving, attentive hands.

“Tori was a life savor, she took care of our very anxious and shy cat for the last 4 days. An unexpected trip put us in a true bind, I had reached out rather late in the night..she responded immediately and assured me that Penny will be taken care of and to not worry. It was such a relief! She came home, picked up Penny and shared constant updates thru the week..she was very much in tune with my state of mind as well and reassured me every step of the way that my pet is in good hands. I cannot thank Tori enough. Great communicator, has a lot of experience and is a very caring sitter. I am so relieved I found her and cannot recommend her enough to others.”

About: Hello there! My name is Rachel and I've been a pet owner and sitter for many years. I currently have cats AND dogs and they are all amazing! My dogs are named Norbert and Newt, and they are both some big ole lovers. Growing up without pets in the house, I was always trying to bring friends' pets home! I also dog-sat for one particular family in high school and I loved it. Pet-sitting for me is all the joys of owning a dog only on a part-time basis. I would love to help you and your furry family out in your time of need! Be it for vacation, a new baby, work, or anything else, I can fill in. My longest running regular client used me nearly every weekend in good weather so she could skydive! This lasted almost two years until I moved out of the area. She had 5 hounds and a puppy hound! (I actually delivered the puppies. 😳) I have somewhat flexible availability to take dogs on walks, visit your home, or check in on your pet. I am also available some nights and weekends to dog sit in your home or bring your pet to my home. I have my basement set up for my dogs to have the run of it - it is the coolest part of the house and completely dog friendly! My dogs hang there while I'm at work, then we go for walks as soon as I get home. I would love to meet you and your pet in person to determine if we'd be a good fit! I currently work for the Beaver County Humane Society and I am loving it! My schedule is somewhat flexible, but I always have time for new clients and meet and greets. My pets get the best I can for them, and I feel like I work mostly so I can pay for their food and supplements, lol. I try to walk and play with them as much as they can, and my cats have their own bedroom with a baby gate so they can get away from the dogs if they want to.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. We always had a dog or two growing up along with a few cats throughout the years. Star was a 14 year old lab mix rescue that we had since she was 4 months old, who passed in February 2023. I have a 9 year old Blue Healer, Bella, and a 10 year old Rottweiler, Layla who passed away in August 2023. They are like my children even though I have 3 children who range in age from 15-23. I walk Bella, take her to the lake or the dog park or to walk around any of our local parks but she doesn’t like to go as far in her older years. I am on a schedule with giving medication to my pets along with treats and regular brushing. Star would only play with me with a tennis ball and Layla would play with anyone but only with a specific toy so I am well versed in picky dogs. Star also slept in bed with me but Layla preferred her crate even after she was trained, she just enjoyed her own space and would go in it when she is ready for bed. Bella rotates and sleeps with one of us each night. Addison is my middle child and has gone with me for the last couple of years and earned the trust of many of my clients to fill in for me when I am not available. She is a senior at Fitch and is going to attend Slippery Rock in the fall. I will let you know if she will need to assist in any of the visits prior to accepting your request. We do a meet and greet with the two of us to ensure that your pet is comfortable with us prior to finalizing any visits. That is a little about us and our experience. I hope you will give us the opportunity to care for your special family members. I recently made a change in my career. I am a flight attendant for Breeze Airways out of Akron Canton Airport. This has been an amazing journey and opened up my schedule to care for animals again. I will keep my schedule updated for my availability for the current month and my schedule for the following month is released on the 15th. If you are planning ahead please let me know the dates and times your furbabies would need me and I’ll be able to request it off. My life would not be the same without the tail wags and purrs of your favorite animals 🐾 Caring for your pet in your home will be done according to your instructions. I will treat them with all the love and respect as if they were my own but follow your guidelines for care. That will include walks, playtime, feeding schedules, treats and or any special medications or care needed. If I should need to crate your pet for safety to transport them at your request I can do that as well. Your pets safety and comfort will always be a number one priority. If you are interested in house sitting and will need me to be in the home continuously for more than 6 hours or to stay overnight please message me to discuss as this could affect your rate. I do have multiple customers that rebook for the same day and time each week or month so I do apologize if I am not available on your first request. I have never had an issue with safety, trust or environment when it comes to any part of my life. I do currently board animal in my home on a limited basis depending on the dog and my schedule during that requested boarding time. I use a hands free leash with a bungee to make walks more comfortable for the dogs and safer when I am cleaning up after them on walks. I do prefer they use a harness and I have had great success with reforming dogs that would pull during walks to now pleasant walkers just by positive reinforcement. Entry and exit to your home is done according to your needs. I have clients that do it many different ways and your comfort and safety along with that of your pet is always a priority.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of November 2026, there are 221 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Achor. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

96% of sitters in Achor can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Achor home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Achor.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Achor. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

You and your Achor sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
