“We love that we've found Maria to care for our furbaby! They definitely treat her as their own and make sure we get lots of pictures and updates. We've definitely found the perfect sitter!”

“Shannon was amazing with our puppy Roux! Shannon had her for 9 days and when we picked her up she was so excited. We got pics and updates every other day. I will definitely be using Shannon again!”

“I thought Carolyn took great care of my dogs and I felt very comfortable leaving them with her. She gave me an update every day and her dogs are extremely nice. Would definitely recommend her as a dog sitter. She also has a good yard for the dogs to play in.”

“Sherrie was amazing. She immediately made me feel at ease when arriving. Picked up my babies with no problems. Sherrie was very accommodating! Will definitely use her again.”

“Natalie is an amazing dog sitter! Nipsey had a wonderful visit and came back happy and well cared for. She’s very interactive and kept me updated with pictures, which I really appreciated. I can tell she truly loves animals, and I feel completely at ease knowing Nipsey is in good hands. I’ll definitely be using her again!”

“She has done a great job making my usually extremely anxious dog comfortable and even able to play with her own dog. She was understanding and flexible with drop off and pick up times, if something happened that I needed an earlier time for either.”

About: I've had pets since I was 10 years old. I have experience sitting for friends and family. I've attended training classes with two of my own dogs. I currently work part-time so I'll have plenty of time to play and care for your furry baby, feed them, take potty breaks and love on them. I have a fenced yard and plenty of space for your furry baby to run morkie and play with my 5 or old playful morkie.
“We just did an overnight stay but her and her husband were very good to our girl. Sadly she has cats which our 8 month old hasn't been around before, so its not a fit for us but we were please with the care our puppy was given and the communication.”

About: I’m looking to earn a little extra money and would love to help out with your dogs! I have lots of hands-on experience with German Shepherds and other strong, energetic, and sometimes temperamental dogs. I’m comfortable handling dogs with big personalities, high energy, anxiety, or those who need a little extra patience and understanding. Whether you need someone to: 🐕 Take your dog for a walk 🏡 Check in on them while you’re away 🐾 Dog sit ❤️ Give them some attention and companionship I’m dependable, patient, active, and genuinely love dogs. I also understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I’m happy to take the time to build their trust. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your dog like their own, feel free to message me! 😊 I work from home so I’m able to sit around with dogs. Also, I have a doggie door if dogs are experienced with it. Me working from home I’m also able to make it to other people‘s houses and work. My pets are spoiled babies. My Shepherd, Ribeye, even though very well trained can get away with most things just by his looks. We take breaks and walk around the block and enjoy some time out in the fresh air.
About: I have worked in the pet industry for over 20 years. I owned a grooming and boarding facility for 14 years and after having children have transitioned to home-based grooming and boarding. I currently groom from my home and plan to homeschool my children. I am rarely not home except to run errands or classes/outings for my children. I have a fenced yard and multiple safety measures in place. Dogs are crated when not roaming in the house or yard. I have one medium sized spayed/female who is 3 years old and very socialized.
About: I’ve cared and watched over many different breeds of pets. I am a fond advocate of good animal care and strongly against abuse and neglect of any kind. I’m not biased to only dogs, but love animals of every kind. I’m currently working part time and also attend school, but I am not tied down to a 9-5 so I can generally work around things if need be. I have great time management and work well maintaining a schedule/routine. In my home: I will make sure they are well fed as instructed and get plenty of fresh air and socializing with me. In client’s home: I am great at following directions however the client would like or asks of.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Abell home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Abell.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Abell sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
