She was so calming for our dear pup, & they hit it off from the start. Kathy sent several great photos from every visit, & gave a very detailed report card to assure us that he was happy & adjusting while we were gone. She also took in our mail, & watered our plants. Everything looked great in the house when we returned, and I think our pup was happy to have such a good”

Maria does such a good job looking after them: she sends detailed reports and pictures, and most importantly when I return home I can tell my cats have been well cared for. My elderly cat who needs medicine (this time by oral syringe) twice a day to help her metabolism feels like she’s kept it up/ not lost weight which puts my mind at ease. My shy cat isn’t scared and afraid she’s her normal self as Maria is a person she trusts to be in her space.”

About: I have been an animal caregiver for more than 20 years and have taken care of dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, sheep and birds. In addition to having a lot of experience, I can offer basic training for dogs and horses including positive reinforcement and natural horsemanship (i. e. Parelli games and round penning). I am also comfortable riding English and Western styles. Besides taking care of animals, I have also taken care of large estates as well as farms and private residence in the Boston and Los Angeles areas, as well as internationally in Italy, Uruguay and Argentina. High values are important to me and giving peace of mind with responsibility and reliability is something I strive for. I have recently relocated to the Western NYS area to be closer to family and am happy to be at your service. I am a freelance writer creating my own hours, which allows myself to be available to your pets full time. I do not do boarding at this time and prefer to stay where the animal is most comfortable. I am willing to consider doing drop in service if it is close by or travel time must be paid. I believe dogs need more time and attention so I am not comfortable crating a dog for a long period of time. I believe that exercise, atension and training cure 90% of pet issues.So I do not like animals to be alone too long especially since they me be a little anxious with their families away. I also have no issues doing horse care or caring for other farm animals.

“I’ve known Sarah four years and she’s what I would call “one of the good ones in the world.” She’s an exceptional friend, daughter, mother and human being who is honest, enthusiastic about life and especially passionate and loving with her dog, Rooney, and every other living creature. As an example, a Monarch flew into her home late last fall and instead of trying to shoo it back out into the cold, she went online and discovered it was a male and promptly named him George Louis. Then she researched what and how to feed George Louis and he happily lived with her for two months until the end of his lifespan. Only Sarah would put the time and care into nurturing this beautiful butterfly. She’s like Dr. Doolittle. In fact, the only one who is perhaps more fanatical about animals is me with my dog, Annie. And Sarah is the only one I leave Annie with knowing she’s in the best of hands. If you love your dog, Sarah is the sitter for you. Highly recommend without reservation.”

“Peggy was great! It was my first time leaving my 13 and 15 year old babies, and leaving my house, to someone I don’t know. It was also last minute and they were anxious because they knew I was going away. Peggy allowed me to call her and talk to her, send her written and video instructions, and assured me everything would be okay. She was punctual at every time I asked her to be here. She stayed with them and played with them, which is more than I was expecting. She kept my updated. She turned off the lights like I asked, and left them on for me when I came home. Everything was perfect and made my trip much easier. I’d recommend Peggy if you need a sitter.”

“Olivia D has been dog sitting for me for the past ten years. We rescued our dog 11 years ago and Olivia is just a natural with animals . She loves our dog and he is always so glad to see her.. Olivia plays with our dog, takes him for walk and when he is whiny or sad, she is so comforting to him - asking him “ what’s wrong ?” And meeting his needs. She provides extra love and support with petting him and staying close by as needed. I always call on Olivia to stay in the home while we travel and she has never had an issue. At times, our dog barks a lot and Olivia is so calming to be around that our dog feels comfortable and he never gives her a difficult time..
