About: I have grown up with big dogs such as pit bulls and huskies and love them dearly I really love how playful and caring they are. I trained both my family pitties since they were puppies I’m currently only working 30hrs a week can board for you starting Sunday nights till early Wednesday morning have space for animals to play and run I live in a house on a 1 acre property no fences so as long as your dog is properly trained and no risk of them running away I don’t mind letting them roam free if not I can just walk them around on a leash. As for cats same difference I have a back patio to allow them to be in the sun and have fresh air and all the space they deserve
“Annalise was THE perfect caretaker for our 3 “very different” kitties… 2 elderly and one youngster. I am so thankful to have found her! All instructions were followed to the letter… even with an ice cube in the water that’s a special treat they like. :) Great pictures were sent each visit to show them safe and loved. Our one little girl is on thyroid medication, which makes me a little anxious to leave her. My fears were calmed when I came home and saw each dose was documented the way I like it. Thank you, Annalise! My littles were perfectly calm and happy when I arrived home last night. ❤️”

About: I have been with pets all my life, and have fell in love with all animals! They have always been such a sense of joy for me and it would be a pleasure to take care of more! I’m a full time student at JMU so I am pretty flexible when I can come in and out and take care of your pets! I make sure my animals at home are safely left inside when I leave and always make sure they are fed well and have the things they need for when I’m gone!
“Samantha was a lifesaver. We had a last-minute cancellation by our previous sitter, and Samantha kindly stepped in to provide excellent care for our pets. She went the extra mile and even completed some additional chores while looking after Noche. Samantha, you are truly wonderful.”

About: I grew up working alongside my grandparents who were very big into rescuing and fostering animals in need. I have plenty of experience in medicating animals (even the feisty ones) and am always up for a little challenge. I currently have open availability throughout the week and can do overnights! I’d be more than happy to come to you, or your fur baby is more than welcome to stay here, whatever makes you most comfortable! My soul focus would be to make sure that your pet felt loved and safe while you’re away. There are currently no pets in my home so your baby would get my full attention and there’s a lovely park just behind my neighborhood with plenty of space to run, walk and play
About: All my life I have cared for many different kinds of dogs. There was never a time when my family didn’t have atleast 3 dogs! I currently live on a farm with goats, bunnies, dogs and cats! I always make it a priority to walk my dogs as much as I can. I am very patient with my dogs and try my best to keep them trained while also having fun! Currently, my only commitments are within my graduate program, and I volunteer at a horse farm once a week. My weekends are completely free, as well as most of my mornings and early afternoons. All of my pets are so loved, and I will make sure your fur babies feel loved as well. I know how much a pet means to an owner, and I will make it my priority to give your pets the best care based on their needs and your wants!

About: As a Kennel Worker and Veterinary Assistant at Crosspointe Animal Hospital, I fed and exercised animals, cleaned kennels and treatment areas, safely restrained pets during exams and procedures, assisted with vaccinations and routine treatments, monitored animals for signs of illness or injury, and updated veterinarians on patient conditions. I also interacted with pet owners and helped ensure animals received attentive, compassionate care. I am always available, and pet care fits easily into my routine. I can adjust my schedule as needed to provide consistent feeding, cleaning, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day or week without conflict. I prioritize keeping pets safe, comfortable, and stress-free. In a client’s home, I follow all instructions carefully, maintain feeding and litter box routines, secure doors and entry points, and monitor behavior closely. My experience with both domestic and feral cats at an animal hospital, along with cat-sitting for friends, has taught me to use calm, patient handling to build trust and ensure each pet feels secure and well cared for.
About: I have raised and trained my own Alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd mixed dog as a wonderful and unforgettable companion. I would love to share my experience and care with your furry companion as well. I work from home so I am glad to offer pet assistance and services often. I can also work from a laptop or my phone so I’m glad to travel and serve as I can. My Alaskan Malamute is an inside/outside dog. He enjoys his time on my front lawn via a simple shock collar and has free roam within my home.
“Jennifer did a great job with my girls. My rescue is shy around new people but she took to Jennifer right away! Jennifer even took them for a walk even though I told her I didn't expect it. The house was clean and I came home to happy pups! Highly recommend.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
