About: From energetic labs to more lethargic Bichon's, I've cared for a wide variety of dogs in the short time I've been in the dog sitting game. Whether it be just a simple walk for a mile or so, to bathing, many of the closest people around me have looked to me when they needed their pet cared for. Though I've only "pet sat" for about a year now, my family has been blessed to have been able to have 4 dogs in my lifetime (with our current being my yorkie bichon King Zeus), with everyone of them adding experience to a different aspect of what it means to correctly care for a pet. I'm a part-time employee at a pizza place, so most days there is plenty of time for me to spend time with any dog staying with me! I see every pet that I care for as if it's my very own, meaning I'm am willing to go the extra mile to ensure that not only the pet is as comfortable as they can be, but also their owner can entrust them in my care knowing that their little baby will be safe. In terms of the living area in my house, it's very pet friendly with wide spaces and a VERY big backyard so that pets can play to their heart's content.

I appreciate her reaching out to me right away to let me know, and to also reassure me that neither dog (or she fortunately) was injured. The best part? Your fur baby is there when you get home. Your home will also have that "lived in" look. Mail will be picked up, plants watered, lights will be switched on and off, trash rolled to the curb, and any house issues that arise can be addressed. Especially for overnight or vacation services, I would love the chance to meet you and your pet(s) in your home ahead of time. I always encourage new clients to schedule a (free) 30-minute meet-and-greet before the first booking (either at your home or a public location) so that I can meet your pet(s). About: I am a former police Richmond Police Officer who has worked with and cared for dogs since age 12 in many settings. I have never not owned an animal, and currently have two dogs, two cats and a turtle of my own! I also have volunteered 200 hours at the PSPCA in Newport News, where I gained a lot of experience in the care of different types of dogs and cats. My husband and I live in a house with almost an acre fenced in, so your pup will always have a place to run around when staying with us!! Communication is key! Large fenced in back yard with a dog door that allows them to go in and out as they please. We always walk the fence before a stay to make sure there are no holes your fur baby could escape from! About: I have been taking care of animals since I was seven years old. My family had two kittens that I cared for and I was responsible for pet sitting other fur babies in the neighborhood growing up. I also attended many animal science/nature camps growing up, it’s where I got my first hermit crab! I also know the Heimlich maneuver for both cats and dogs. In my junior year of high school I applied and was accepted to the HOSA veterinary science program where I graduated in the National Honors Society. Shortly after graduation, I started working at a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant. My job was to help restrain animals for exams/shots, organize medications, prepare/read fecal slides and determine if intestinal parasites are present, collect urine samples, and provide basic care. Overall I have had personal experience caring for dogs/puppies, cats/kittens, goats, horses, hamsters, chickens/chicks, pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, ferrets, chinchillas, birds, lizards, snakes, frogs, turtles, hermit crabs, and axolotls. I am currently a student in nursing school and am working as a part time server. I only have classes two days a week on Monday (6 AM - 6 PM) and Tuesday (8:30 AM - 11:15 AM) and work a couple hours 2 evenings a week, but can take off if needed for services. I like to learn about their daily routine and what they like to do for fun so and incorporate those things into our routine while clients are gone, so pets feel safe and relaxed while their family isn’t there.
