Elle did a wonderful job with my big, huge baby (125 lb lab -only 2 and still thinks he’s a lap dog). She was incredibly accommodating and flexible as we asked her if she could watch my fiancé’s border collie at the last minute (coverage fell through), and she totally took it in stride. She communicated with us regularly while we were gone, exercised the dogs, was able to handle their energy and gave them tons of love and affection. You can tell that she loves dogs and they love her. I will DEFINITELY use her again and absolutely recommend her to anyone who wants someone who is trustworthy, clear on what she offers, communicates well, and sends pictures. Our dogs were happy and calm when we returned. Thanks, Elle!!! ?

Elizabeth took such good care of Niobe! Everytime I wondered about what was happening at home, I received a message and photo from Elizabeth. I will book with her again.

About: I have 3 years of experience taking care of cats and dogs of a variety of breeds, and have worked with puppies as well as older pets in home environments such as suburbs, cities, and rural areas. I am happy to cater to your pet's special needs, and I focus on respecting each pet's boundaries and getting to know them on a case by case basis, with the hope that they grow to trust me as much as they trust you! Since I am a writer who works remotely, I am open on a weekly basis and am able to be flexible in order to meet your scheduling requirements. I work hard to ensure that your pet's personal boundaries are not crossed while we take time to get to know each other. I especially care about learning their preferences in order to earn their favor and eventually their trust. Depending on each pet, I try to be very sensitive to any shifts in their mood or behavior, such as if they get anxiety when left alone or are afraid of loud weather.

About: I have been around animals my entire life and have cared for my own pets since I was young. Over the years, I have owned and cared for many different types of animals, including Pit Bulls, Yorkshire Terriers, German Shepherds, Bulldogs, Shar-Peis, mixed-breed dogs, cats and kittens, turtles, rabbits, and chickens. Through this experience, I have learned how to understand different temperaments, provide daily care, maintain feeding schedules, exercise pets, and ensure they feel safe and comfortable. I am patient, responsible, and genuinely love animals. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I am committed to treating them with the same care and attention that I give my own pets. I have a flexible schedule while attending university, with plenty of availability to dedicate time and attention to the pets in my care. My classes are mostly concentrated during the late morning and early afternoon, so I am generally available in the mornings, evenings, and on weekends, with additional flexibility on days when I have fewer classes. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, daycare, and boarding, and I’m happy to work around each pet’s individual routine and needs. I understand how important consistency is for pets, and I always do my best to provide reliable, attentive, and loving care. I live in a pet-friendly home with no other pets, which allows me to provide focused attention and a calm environment. My home has a living area, kitchen, bathroom, and multiple rooms, giving pets space to relax and feel comfortable. While there is not a fenced yard, there is plenty of outdoor space nearby for leashed walks, and a park is located close to my home for additional exercise and enrichment. When caring for pets, I prioritize safety, follow the owner's instructions carefully, maintain regular feeding and potty schedules, and make sure pets always feel secure, comfortable, and well cared for.

Rebecca is wonderful! She was easy to stay in touch with, responsive and so pleasant. Rosie really liked her right away and Rebecca handled Rosie's exuberance and energy so well. We felt very comfortable leaving Rosie in Rebecca's care, we received updates that they were doing well and we can home to a happy dog and a clean house. We'd be thrilled to work with Rebecca again in the future!

Vanessa was by far the best sitter we’ve had in nearly ten years. She went above and beyond. She took pebbles on hikes and swims and dog parks, kept her super clean and managed her food and meds very well. We returned in over a week to find pebbles thriving. We would call on Vanessa in a heart beat going forward whenever we need someone to care for our pup.

About: Ever since I was a child, I’ve always had a pet in my life. Over the years, I’ve cared for countless animals through dog and cat sitting, and I’ve always felt a natural connection with them. One of the experiences I’m most proud of is helping reunite three lost dogs with their families. Animals have always been a part of who I am, and caring for them has never felt like a job—it has always felt like a calling. Starting September 4, I’ll have a flexible schedule and will be available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and dog or cat sitting throughout the day. This isn’t just a side hustle for me—it’s something I’m genuinely passionate about. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve had pets since I was a child, cared for many dogs and cats over the years, and have even helped reunite three lost dogs with their families. I truly enjoy earning an animal’s trust and giving pet owners peace of mind, knowing their furry family members are in loving, dependable hands. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pets like they’re my own, I’d love the opportunity to help! One of the biggest benefits I offer is caring for your pets in the comfort of their own home. Staying in their familiar environment helps reduce stress, keeps their daily routine consistent, and allows them to feel safe and secure while you’re away. Whether it’s dog walking, drop-in visits, or overnight care, I’ll make sure your pets receive plenty of love, attention, playtime, and personalized care—just as if you were home. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your furry family members are happy, comfortable, and cared for in the place they know best.

About: I have a vast knowledge of all things dogs and cats! I worked for 3 years as a veterinary assistant, and I currently attend SUNY Cobleskill for canine training and management! I can’t wait to meet your animals and you!!! Pretty open, but I do have classes we can speak of later to match up schedules, please feel free to to ask me anything! Thank you so much! I’m pretty knowledgeable when it comes to pet care, and I’m also great at following directions! I’m not a negative reinforcement type of person, as I prefer positive reinforcement instead! I also know how to give medication orally and know how to give as inhaler.

FAQs for House Sitting - Worcester

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Worcester on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 39 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Worcester. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Worcester walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Worcester maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Worcester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
