“Gabriela did a great job watching our pups while we were out of town. She’s super communicative and sends a ton of videos/photos! We will definitely book her again for dog sitting in our home!”

“We have used Rover for many years and Stephanie stands out from the rest. We cannot recommend her enough! She watched our two girls at our house for a week while we were out of town, and within the first day or two, a storm knocked huge tree branches from our neighbor’s yard into ours. She handled it without missing a beat, pivoting quickly to keep our girls safe the entire time. She stayed in communication, sent photos regularly, and gave us complete peace of mind throughout the whole trip. I can tell they miss her today but luckily she will be around for drop-ins as well! She also left our house in beautiful condition. She’s the absolute best but please leave some of her time for us 🤣🤣. Thanks, Stephanie!!”

“Alyssa did a great job with our anxious doggies! They seemed very content when we came back from our trip which is a testament to how well she did with them and how comfortable they were with her. We will definitely look to her in the future!”

“This is our first time using Rover and Jason was awesome to work with and lived close to us. He took great care if our dog Lexie and played with her in our back yard. It is nice to know we have someone close by to watch our dog when we need to be away.”

“Adrienne is wonderful! We were skeptical of this process, as we've always, in the past, been fortunate to use family in our home to care for our pet. Our furbaby, Stella, requires daily medication and special attention due to being a nervous nellie. She quickly fell in love with Adrienne, as she could sense the genuine love she had for her. Adrienne went above and beyond, taking Stella on extra walks, shared extra time with her outside, followed our fine detailed lengthy notes on Stella's routine and care perfectly, and she left our home just as she found it. If you're looking for someone who will love and care for your pet as if it were their own, Adrienne is the person!”

About: I have experience caring for dogs, cats, small mammals, horses, fish, and some reptiles. I am an animal lover through and through, so whatever kind of pet you have, I promise to care for them as if they were my own. I am great at following instructions, so even if it is a new type of critter I haven't met before, I will provide care exactly as you direct. I have extensive experience with senior dogs, diabetes management, blind and/or deaf animals, and other medical care. I am not deterred by special needs animals. If you can show me how to perform the necessary tasks, I can do them. I will ensure that your babies get their special diet, their meds (pills or injections), their specific bedtime routine, or even just their exact required number of belly rubs and forehead kisses to keep their routine as steady as possible. I love sending photos and updates so that you know your pet is happy and healthy while you are away. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! I work fulltime Mon-Fri. I can visit before I go to work in the mornings, anytime during evenings and weekends, and I can do midday check-ins for a quick potty break or medications on my lunch break. I am currently only offering services in the client's home. I will care for your pet carefully according to your instructions and will be respectful of your home and privacy. I will make sure everything is locked up behind me before leaving and if you want me to turn the porch light on at night or bring in your mail, etc. just let me know!
“Karrie was fantastic! She stayed in our home, which helped our dogs feel comfortable and relaxed right away. She kept them on their usual routine, so we never had to worry while we were away. She was also a wonderful house guest and even washed dishes and bedding before she left. We couldn't have asked for better care and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“First time having Jenna to the house with two pups who take a while to warm to people. Then we get hit with a record breaking snowstorm that meant more days than planned and Jenna goes above and beyond to make sure my girls and my home are well taken care of. I am so thankful for Jenna! Wonderful ⭐️”

“Melissa was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. She was very pleasant, easy to contact, and frequently updated me on the status of my pups. I will 100% book with Melissa in the future!!(:”
“Jenna was so fabulous. This was my first time using rover and she really helped ease my anxiety with leaving my fur babies in her hands. She sent so many pictures and took through notes of my pets routine and daily needs, which was very much appreciated.”

About: I love animals—all of them. I've had animals in my home since I was born, including dogs, cats, lizards, guinea pigs, and more. Over the years, I've gained a lot of experience caring for different kinds of animals, and I've found that understanding them comes naturally to me. Animal body language and communication are things I pick up on easily, which helps me recognize when a pet is comfortable, nervous, excited, or needs something. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, but first and foremost, my priority is making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I'll keep you updated on your pet's status to ensure you have comfort knowing someone is keeping a watchful eye over them. Currently, I'm unemployed as I'm awaiting openings in an electrical program I'd like to get into, so I have more than enough time to take care of whatever needs you may have! When caring for a pet in their home, I make their safety and comfort my top priorities. I follow the owner's instructions and routines as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, medication, playtime, and any other specific needs. I also make sure doors, gates, and other potential escape routes are secure, and I pay close attention to the pet's behavior and body language so I can recognize when they are stressed, uncomfortable, or need space. I treat every home with the same care and respect that I would want for my own.
“Kaylee was wonderful! First time using her and we have zero complaints. She even took care of our chickens, got their eggs each day, and loved on our old pupper. Recommend to anyone!”

“Karen did an amazing job with our pups and our home! We got pictures everyday and it made our vacation so enjoyable! We came home to happy and healthy pets, and the house just as clean as we had left it. Thank you so much, we will definitely be using her again!”

About: I loved animals ever since I was a kid and raised and trained my dog Zephyr since he was a year old. I adore all animals care for two rodents of my own named Orchid and Meadow. I often petsit for my family and friends and have taken care of a wide variety of animals. I've taken care of pets of all ages from puppies to my senior dog who currently has from dementia. I am very patient and licensed CNA so I know how to handle a mess. I am a freshman in college though my classes are very light. I'm free after 9am on Mondays and Wednesdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays I'm free after 12:15 though I can come in earlier anytime before 9, Fridays can vary for me but I'm typically free after 9-10 am though sometimes if I have an exam it might be an hour or so later though I can always make arrangements if necessary. I care for pets by following their routine, spending lots of time with them, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m respectful of my client's homes and always clean up after the pets and leave everything as I found it. I After a procedure my dog needed to be crate trained so I know how to handle that.
“I cannot speak highly enough of Jennifer! She house sat for my 5 mo old puppy and two senior cats, and my garden for six days, coordinating with veterinarian to deliver medical care to my sick cat and spending most of her time with my animals. She worked on training my pup and got him back into a good routine! She is super communicative and gives you the kinds of updates you want to hear about and sends lots of photos. She follows directions to a tee, so I never had to worry! She kept the house clean. I will definitely be asking for her again! 6 stars”

“Wendy watched our 2 dogs while we were away for a weekend. She was very attentive & sent pics throughout her stay at our home. We found her to be very trustworthy and will definitely be using her services again!!”

“Emily was awesome! We were using Rover for the first time and she was so helpful! Our dogs absolutely loved her at the meet and greet:)! She kept us updated during our entire trip and the dogs were super happy!!! We couldn't have asked for more…we will be asking her back for next year!!!”

Lisa was amazing!!! I was a first time user of Rover and could not be more pleased. She took such good care of my baby I don't think Dottie wanted me to come home. :-) Will definitely use Lisa again. She was wonderful. Daily updates and lots of pics. I was completely at ease knowing that Dottie was in the best of hands!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Winner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Winner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Winner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Winner. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
