“Wendy is AMAZING!!! She does such a great job with our pups. They are loved and cared for. We can truly enjoy our time away knowing they are in such good hands. She communicates everyday. Our home is well taken care of. Our pups love her.”

“Sara is always great with our Jelly, and we always feel comfortable having her stay at our place while we are gone. Jelly isn’t always the easiest dog - she’s got a lot of anxiety and doesn’t like other dogs - so we won’t leave her with just anyone! We are always very happy when Sara can help us out...and I think Jelly is as well! :)”
“Super sitter! Always asks questions, pays great attention to the dogs, and even though I had nothing, always asks what he can improve on. My dogs enjoyed their time with him during a full day of house sitting, and he was very attentive and flexible with our schedule.”

“Abigail is the best! My dog, Dottie, is a very anxious girl and she warmed up to Abigail after only a couple minutes during our meet and greet. She sent pictures the entire time I was away and took such amazing care of Dottie. I would recommend her for any dogs and will definitely have her comeback to take care of my girl the next time I need an overnight sitter.”

“Sofia was great. My dog was rescued and I have spent 6+ years with her and she had some special needs. Sofia did amazing and was very kind. Cali was well cared for and very happy. If I need a dogsitter, Sofia will my first call.”

“Ashli is so amazing and stayed with our dog for the entire day so they we could enjoy our wedding. It was such a relief to know he was happy and hanging out with Ashli, and we were able to focus on the day instead of wondering what he was doing at home.”

“Daniel was excellent. Took care of my kitties while I was out of the country for 2 weeks and constantly kept me in the loop and sent me pictures of them daily. Would highly recommend him.”

“What can I say ... we've had very good petsitters before. This is the first time we've had a FABULOUS petsitter! Just WOW! SOOO good with the animals. Outstanding communication. Took excellent care of the house. Great check-ins every day. 5 stars. A+. 10 out of 10. It was wonderful to go away without a care in the world knowing our furry ones were in great hands!”

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life. I have always had at least one cat, and had dogs for 17 years of my life. I have also taken care of family and friends’ pets while they are out of town plenty of times. I am available all day every day for any kind of pet needs, and I can house cats overnight, however, I am unable to house dogs overnight. I am within walking distance of a dog park, and can bring animals inside or outside, whichever their needs are. I can also keep and transfer pets inside crates as needed.
“Andrew was an absolute godsend while we were away!!! He took the BEST care of our dog, and sent us cute photos and videos each day! He truly listened to what we wanted for our dog (who is older and a little stubborn) and went above and beyond in terms of caring for her like his own beloved pet. He checked in with us to ensure that we were ok with certain things, and did an amazing job of keeping us reassured that things were all a-ok, which was particularly nice since it was our first time experiencing an in-home pet sitter. He left our house in nicer condition than when we left it. I’m pretty sure my dog misses him now that we are home! We have already told him we will be using his services again in the future!!!”

“Mirte was absolutely outstanding! From the moment we connected, she was communicative, thoughtful, and incredibly caring with our home and pets. She went above and beyond in every way, sending regular updates and photos that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Our pets clearly adored her, and it was obvious she treated them like her own. We came home to a spotless house, happy animals, and everything handled perfectly. Mirte is reliable, kind, professional, and truly one of the best sitters we’ve ever worked with. We would book her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their pets and home. Five stars all around!”

About: I have had the pleasure of adopting two special canines. The first a lab/beagle mixed who lived his best years until 17 yo. He was on special diet so I am familiar with restrictions. My current just turned 3 and is a lab/german wired haired pointer mix who is always looking for new friends. She had TPLO surgery last year so I am also comfortable with post-op restrictions!! I work from home daily so I can care for your pet all day!! Whatever your pet needs I can accommodate!! Agreeable to following specific needs if required. Our home is non-smoking and no kiddos!! Fully fenced backyard!! Willing to transport to local dog parks if preferred for daily activity!! Instructions are preferred so we make you pet feel at home!!
“Shakarra watched our 2 dogs and 2 cats for 2 weeks. I’ve never been away from them for that long. She kept me up to date and was very responsive. I appreciated having someone in our home who everyone was comfortable with. She came over 2 times before actually staying to make sure things were going to work. My dogs took to her immediately. I ran into some travel delays but Shakarra was flexible and kind enough to do an additional stop by to make sure everyone was good. She tidied up the house before she left which was icing on the cake for our arrival home. I feel so grateful to have found a great pet sitter on the first go around.”

About: Hello! I am very excited to meet you and your furry family members. I have been caring for and loving my own pets for my entire life, and I’m happy to do the same for yours! I am currently the mother of an energetic and loving dog named Bear and a peaceful snake named Syrax. My boy has enough energy to last him for weeks, so I am very comfortable with all temperaments and energy levels, including crazy little puppies! Whether it’s an hour walk or a 15 minute potty break, your doggy will be well loved the entire time. I also enjoy taking my dog on runs, so I would be happy to do that for your dog as well. I work as an EMT three days out of the week so I am available on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. On those days, I am available to provide frequent potty breaks, walks, or overnight stays in your home. For overnight stays at clients homes, I am happy to discuss any special needs of the household and go over your expectations for my time in your space. I am also comfortable with handling any special needs your dog may have. Including medical needs/medication, special diets, and feeding rituals. I am looking forward to caring for your pets! I work as an EMT for three days out of the week. So on Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sat I am available all day/night for potty breaks, walks, and in home stays. About: I have babysat for many family members and friends. I worked at a dog daycare business for 3 years as well! I have tons of experience with just about any breed, and I am always happy to learn something new about taking care of your pet! I’m a current student at IU Bloomington, so I’d love to help out between classes and studying! My schedule is usually pretty open throughout the week. I love going for walks or just hanging out at home with pets, let me know whatever your furry friend needs to have the best time possible!
About: I have taught my dog multiple tricks and continue working on separation anxiety and reactivity. Since getting my dog I have learned a great deal about dog food, behavior, and training. I've always had love for animals, and have had a dog in the house since I was 4 years old ranging from small dogs too big dogs. Growing up I would binge animal planet and had hopes of being a veterinarian. Now as an adult, I have had Midas for 3 years. I treat every new dog I meet with respect, and of course love. I've learned to be able to adapt my energy and interactions with different dogs depending on their personality. I would love the opportunity to be of service to you and your lovely fur-baby! I will be un-employed from my seasonal lawn and landscaping job starting December 12th. I will be returning to that job sometime April 1st. I also plan on starting an odd jobs side hustle during the winter months. So if i become too busy from odd jobs I will adjust my availability accordingly and stay available for constant communication to ensure no scheduling conflicts. Christmas and new years (December 22nd- January 2) will be limited availability. February 14-21 i will be on a trip to Arizona. I take my dog for a jog every morning, at least one walk, to our little dog park at the apartment two times per day, and the big dog park a couple of times per week. We go on adventures together and explore different walking paths and nature trails. We feed him once a day and ensure he does a series of tricks and waits for the "ok" command before he can eat. We feed him a three way mix of fresh pet, Dr. Harveys, Meats, and Kibble. I intend to provide a healthy and fulfilled life full of play and love for my dog, and I will treat your dog the same.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whitehall walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whitehall maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whitehall choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whitehall. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
