Laurel took great care of our senior yorkie. He can't see or hear so great any longer and just wants to sleep all day. She was very patient and able to get him to take walks with her. She kept us updated through pictures and texts which helped us enjoy our day away more. Bentley slept so much better after spending time with Laurel. We will definitely use her services any time we need to leave Bentley home in the future.

About: I have experience with senior pets all the way to new born babies! Additionally, I have experience with other animals such as amphibians, farm pets, to fish! I am CPR certified and capable of administering antibiotics. I've taken care of my pets ever since I was a kid (I'm 20 now)! I am very ambitious about animals and showing the love and care they need. I have 4 fur babies that are wonderfully taken care of! I have 3 Dachshund mixes, and a German Shepherd mixed with a Great Pyrenees! My schedule is always open! And if not, I have no problem with setting that line of communication with my clients to be able to meet their needs and their pets needs! I have a retractable leash for the smaller dogs and a regular leash for the bigger dogs! Additionally a portable water bottle for hot walks! If no walks are needed? I have no problem spending time with either dogs or cats in the safety of their home environment!

About: I have positive reinforcement training experience with dogs. I am familiar with all sizes of dogs and tools used to safely walk them. As an alumni of the Animal Behaviour College I will strive to uphold all that theu taught me. I currently have 2 dogs and cats of my own and understand the challenges of getting pets enough exercise. Prior to moving I had regular pet sitting clients that had dogs, cats and exotics. If a simple walk won't cut it for your dog there is the cycle leash option that I have for a bicycle. If you dogs prefers to do long sniffing sessions there is the 20 foot leash option. I also understand that some dogs are reactive to other dogs or pets; with this in mind I will keep a safe, below threshold distance for your pet.

About: Dogs have always been a part of my life. After working in the fast-paced culinary world, I shifted gears in 2007 to run a full-scale pet care facility near Mt. Rainier. Later, I explored the insurance industry—but my heart never left the pack. Now, I’m back doing what I love most: caring for pets with experience, dedication, and a whole lot of tail wags. I work in town with a flexible schedule, so I can swing by during breaks to give your pet some love, care, and attention too. I prefer caring for pets in their own home, with a couple of visits each day. It’s a calmer, less stressful experience for your furry friend. I’m happy to stop by while you’re home at first, so your pet can see I’m a welcome guest. After a friendly introduction, I’ll carry out future visits just as smoothly—even if you’re away. For safety and peace of mind, I recommend crating your pet during my visits to avoid any unexpected issues with entry or territorial behavior.

About: I have taken care of dogs and fish since I was 8. I have taken care of cats for 26 years. I have also had experience with reptiles and birds. I work for a nonprofit Spay and Neuter clinic. We help animals on a daily basis. I have rescued feral cats and I am working on having my own sanctuary. I am an independent contractor and I make my own hours so I can maneuver around any schedule on any day. I am my own Boss with an open schedule. I will follow your directions of care and give them extra love and attention because they will be missing you. I love taking pups for walks when the weather permits.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
