“I am very pleased with Kayla and the care she took of my dogs. I received updates and photos while I was away and when I returned, I couldn't even tell anyone had stayed in my house! I will definitely call on her the next time I am out of town. I would highly recommend Kayla.”
“I am very pleased with Stephanie. We enjoyed getting to know each other. Zeke was so happy to see her and is exhausted from the extra exercise (like walking) which I am unable to do with him. Thanks again, Stephanie.”

“Kristina was an absolute rockstar with our fur babies!! 💜 I can't believe it was only her first visit, and she bonded so well with them😍. She's an absolute natural with animals, and a sweetheart. I wholeheartedly recommend her to everyone who wants the top level of care for their pets!!”

“Kathy kept our 2 dogs for the day during our visit to LEGOLAND. She is a very nice person and her house is so warming. She is obviously an experienced dog keeper. Sent us pics during the day of the dogs which was very appreciated. We spent our day with no stress. Thank you !”

“Shannon was fantastic! I’m so glad we got a chance to work with her. Her communication was excellent, she arrived on time (slightly early actually) had a wonderful attitude and gave Jax lots of love and exercise while we were gone. He was pooped when we got home! I would highly recommend working with Shannon if you need a pet sitter.”

“Here’s a smoother and more polished version that keeps your warmth and sincerity: I want to thank Brandee for taking such great care of Burton during his time with her! She was easy to communicate with, attentive to every detail I asked for, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving him in her care. Burton absolutely loved her, and he can be very selective about people. This was the longest time I’ve ever been away from him, and all of the pictures and check-ins gave me such a sense of peace while I was gone. I’m so grateful for the care and attention she gave him!”

“Danielle was super kind and attentive with our pups. Aside from being a reliable sitter, she was extremely flexible and friendly with her service. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone I know.”

“Awesome experience. My kitty Waffles is a shy, scared kitty around new people and has taken him days to interact with new people. Brittany got Waffles to interacts with her within a day and even seemed to be playful with her. I highly recommend Brittany and i will be using her again when i have the need.”

About: I have been a veterinary technician for 3+ years and counting. We have had pets in our home since I can remember. I have grown up with the love and loyalty that our pets provide and is something that I cherish. I started pet sitting for coworkers and clients for about 2 years now. I love helping fellow pet owners with caring for their pets in a time of need. My favorite thing is gaining trust from pet owners and ensuring that owners have peace of mind when it comes to being away from their pets. Having the medical background that I do also helps to ensure that your senior babies are being taken care of properly. Pets are family. I am currently a full time veterinary technician and work all days (8am-6pm) except Tuesdays, every other Saturdays (only from 8am- 12pm), and Sundays. With my full time schedule, I make sure that a pets needs come first. I will only pet sit for pets that I can guarantee my utmost care. I house sit a lot as well so this is helpful with my full time job. I tend to pet sit close to my job so if I have to leave in the middle of the day to take a dog out, I definitely can. I make sure to follow all written or printed instructions to a T. I also make sure to stay in close contact with owners (not too close to ruin your vacation) to ensure that they are still at peace of mind throughout their time away. I also love to send photos of their pets while they’re gone so they’re not missing out on too much :)

I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities, from playful puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and care. I’ll follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, medications (if needed), exercise, and any special instructions you provide. When your pet is with me, you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and messages so you can relax knowing they’re safe, happy, and well cared for. My goal is simple: earn your trust by providing dependable service and giving your pet the love, attention, and care they deserve. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! Your for baby will be an excellent hands with the help of our dog Jacob. We have a huge backyard which is more than enough room for the babies to play. Not to worry they are never left unattended

About: I have experience caring for a variety of animals, including senior dogs; I have assisted in caring for our large-breed senior with cancer. I bring patience, reliability, and strong attention to detail to every visit, and I prioritize each pet’s comfort, routine, and well-being. I have a flexible daily schedule that allows me to provide attentive and reliable care for pets in my care. I plan my days around studying and part-time work, which gives me the ability to be present and consistent. Dogs in my care are always let out regularly throughout the day, and I make sure they get plenty of time for walks, exercise, play, and comfort so they feel happy and well cared for. For walks and drop-ins, I have good availability throughout the week and prioritize being punctual and consistent for every visit. I care for every pet as if they are my own, focusing on a consistent, calm, and comfortable routine. In my home, I have a relaxed senior dog, and pets are closely supervised with regular bathroom breaks, walks, and playtime. While I do not have a fenced-in yard, I provide safe outdoor time through leashed walks and visits to a nearby neighborhood dog park (with owner approval). I’m also comfortable caring for crate-trained dogs and following any specific routines. In a client’s home, I follow instructions closely for feeding, walks, bathroom breaks, and playtime, and I always provide updates and photos so owners feel at ease.

“We usually do drop-ins and this is the first time Jennie stayed over to house sit for us. Highly recommend! Our dog seemed so happy in all of the pictures and Jennie sent us updates the entire time we were gone.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Kamora! From the first day she met Dallas he took to her! He never takes to anyone so quickly but it was something about her that he sensed and it was a match made in heaven! She took very good care of him taking him on rides in the car to chasing him around the house. For 9 days I was able to enjoy my vacation with the assurance that my son was well taken care of. I highly recommend Kamora!!!”

“Cat did great on our meet and greet! Very kind and our dog loved her. She is not easily overwhelmed by special need asks. We are excited for our pup to spend the day with her tomorrow!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,119 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Lake Wales. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Lake Wales walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Lake Wales maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Lake Wales choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
