“Lisa checked in on my cats for 12 days while I was away on a trip. I was so sad to leave them, but during Lisa’s care I had great peace of mind that they were doing well. I will book Lisa again!”

About: I've grown up with dogs almost my entire life, and I have nearly a decade of experience as a kennel worker at a pet resort. As a dog owner, pet care is a part of my daily routine. For me, it's almost instinct. Family isn't a question of blood or legal relation; it's who you live and grow up with. If you have only one animal, you probably have a reason; I can keep them away from other animals(domestic or wild) if required. I know that pets need constant supervision, like a toddler, but with better hair. I will make sure they get breakfast and dinner(and lunch, if they get lunch), potty time every couple hours, and exercise(walks and play). I will also clean up after them, and hide meds in food if necessary.
“Aurora’s visits for our cat Tuuka were very much appreciated and reassuring while we were away! We received a photo each visit which helped us know Tuuka was doing well and when we got home Tuuka was so loving toward us-we appreciate Aurora tremendously!”

“I cannot say enough good things about my pet sitter! She truly went above and beyond to make sure my babies were safe, happy, and well cared for while I was away. She kept me updated, paid attention to all the little details, and gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she watches, and that means everything to me. I would absolutely trust her with my babies again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, caring, and attentive. ❤️”

About: About Me 🐾 Animals are my thing—always have been, always will be. I’ve worked with everything from birds and dogs to snakes, goats, and more, so nothing really surprises me at this point. From bottle-fed babies to senior pets who need a little extra TLC (or to be carried around like royalty), I’ve got the patience, experience, and heart for it all. I’m the person who will sit with your pet, talk to them like they’re human, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and completely at ease while you’re away. I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for neighbors and friends for years—whether it’s a high-energy puppy or an older pet who just needs a calm, gentle presence. Reliable, attentive, and maybe a little extra when it comes to care—because your pet deserves nothing less. 💁♀️🐾 Pet care is part of my daily routine—feeding, walks, playtime, and check-ins are naturally built into my schedule to ensure consistent, loving care every day. I care for pets in their home by following their routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and medications, while providing lots of attention, comfort, and a safe, stress-free environment.
About: I’ve owned both dogs and cats my entire life and have always loved caring for animals. I’m comfortable with pets of different personalities and understand the importance of keeping them happy, safe, and cared for. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply giving them extra attention, I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own. I currently work part time, which gives me a flexible schedule throughout the week. I’m available on weekends and can often accommodate weekday visits as well. Feel free to reach out, and I’ll do my best to work with your pet care needs! I provide pet sitting in your home, where your pets can stay comfortable and relaxed in their familiar environment. I know pets feel their best when they’re surrounded by the sights, smells, and routines they know, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of care, attention, and love while you’re away.

“Britteny did a great job with my cat Joker. She sent pictures every day while she was here. Even made sure she turned on the heat and left the water running during that cold snap so the pipes didn't freeze. I'll certainly contact her in the future.”

“Kristian ("Jade") did a fantastic job with our baby, Alice. She sent us pictures every day, along with a brief report, so we could see how well Alice was doing. We will definitely use Jade again when we travel.”

“Leona was so great with our Greta while we were away! She made friends with Greta, who is usually strange with people she doesn’t know, putting her at ease till we returned. We highly recommend Leona!”

“Eva did a wonderful job dropping in on our cat, Mako. Beyond making sure he had food, water, and a clean litter box, she took the time to play and cuddle with him. Eva sent a descriptive update and a photo with every visit. It was so nice to know he had someone to look forward to each morning!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
