About: 🐾 Welcome to Zinia's Tail-Wagging Wonderland! 🐾 Hello there! I'm Zinia, I am a dental student, and together with my husband Grant, a resident pathologist at the University of Iowa, we're excited to offer a loving and playful home for your furry family members. Our senior dog, Missy, a delightful Yorkshire Terrier weighing about 12 pounds, can't wait to welcome new friends into our cozy abode. With summer in full swing and some extra time on my hands, I'm thrilled to provide your dog with a delightful stay filled with fun and affection. Although I'm offering my services for fun rather than for pay, please note that I'm fully committed to providing exceptional care. It's an opportunity to share my love for dogs and provide them with the care and attention they deserve. I will only board one family at a time. As Missy prefers the company of smaller dogs, I'm currently only able to board dogs under 20 pounds. If your dog is fragile or easily susceptible to injury, worry not, as I'm well-versed in meeting the unique needs of small dogs. So, if you're seeking a fun-filled dog-sitting experience with personalized care, look no further! Contact me today to discuss how we can make your pup's stay a tail-wagging delight at Zinia's Tail-Wagging Wonderland. Let the pampering begin! 🐶🐾 I am out of school and I'm home all day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I have a part-time job working as a dental assistant on Tues-Wed-Thurs, from 9am-2 pm. However, the hours are flexible as I can leave late or arrive early or not go if I'm busy and it is more of a learning experience for me. So I can be a little flexible, so shoot me a message and we can figure it out :) I live in an apartment, but make no mistake, we spend plenty of time outside! Throughout the day, I keep owners updated with photos, videos, and messages to provide peace of mind. We're fortunate to reside near a dog park, allowing for daily visits to keep our furry guests active and entertained. Exercise and playtime are essential parts of our routine, and I'm more than happy to ensure your dog gets ample opportunity to socialize and have a blast. In our home, we prioritize comfort and relaxation, so you won't find any crates here. Instead, your pup will have free reign to chill on the couch and enjoy the cozy atmosphere. If I need to step out briefly for a quick errand, I'll make sure to secure the bedroom doors and let them have full access to the living room. Depending on the dog's temperament, I may even bring them along on my short outings. (See my typical day below for more info)
“Brooke was communicative, understanding of accomodations for our dogs, and sent lots of photos! We would definitely recommend her. The dogs came back home very tired after a great day playing with the other dogs.”

About: I have loved critters of all kinds since childhood. I attended obedience training for my family Rottweiler at age 6, and have cared for many big-breed dogs such as pitbulls, American bulldogs, mastiffs, Great Danes, labs, and more. I have been the trusted pet sitter for friends and family starting as early as middle school, and am also very comfortable around small breeds and senior babies. I have experience with Boston terriers, yorkies, daschunds, beagles, and more. I have and am comfortable with administering necessary meds or topicals for pets with extra health needs. I have also cared for cats, bunnies, fish, and turtles. I am very passionate about rescuing, and happy to discuss any extra care your pet may need due to a life transition like fostering or rescuing. I watched a PETA ad when I was 9 years old and have been vegetarian ever since… I just really love animals! :) I am working part-time from home at the moment, so I am very flexible currently with my schedule. I am typically available in the mornings, afternoons, and early evenings! I have a fenced in backyard, and I do not have a dog of my own. I have a dining area with an extra couch that can be sectioned off if needed for a crate or food. I do have a senior cat who is indoor, who is very friendly with dogs. He grew up around my mom’s beagles, so he doesn’t mind company/energy! I can section off my basement stairs and kitchen for safety if needed. I cannot board any cat-aggressive dogs for my cat’s safety. I do not use any non pet-safe cleaners or pest control in my home.

About: I’ve taken care of numerous animals my whole life starting at the age of 5. I have 2 dogs of my own who are my world. Your fur babies will be in the best of care. I currently work Tuesday through Friday 11 am to 9 pm. I have Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off. I can provide pet care anytime through the day Saturday through Monday and mornings on Tuesday through Friday. Whatever your pets needs they will be provided. Whether they need to be walked or just checked on and given companionship they will be provided for
“Micki was great! She was very accommodating with which made scheduling pick up and drop off easy. She kept me updated with pictures and I could tell my dog received a lot of attention and was well taken care of!”

“Auden did a great job caring for our small year old dog. She took him for walks and our dog loved playing with her dog. She even got our dog to go up and down the stairs on his own. Thanks for a wonderful experience.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their West Amana home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your West Amana.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your West Amana sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
