Why are DogBuddy and Rover coming together?

Rover and DogBuddy share the same mission: To make life better for dogs and the people who love them. We can make an even bigger impact together. This union will make it easier for pet parents to get trusted care for their dogs, for pet sitters to connect with more dog owners nationwide, and most importantly, for dogs to get the best possible care.

What is Rover?

Rover is the world's largest network of 5-star pet sitters and dog walkers. Similar to DogBuddy, Rover connects pet parents with people who will treat their dogs like family. As a Rover sitter, you'll still be able to choose your schedule, services, and rates, and continue to build your own pet-sitting business.

What is happening with DogBuddy and Rover?

When you try to log in on DogBuddy, you'll be automagically directed to Rover. You can use your same DogBuddy credentials to access your account. You'll notice that all your profile information and settings are already loaded in your profile. It will be super easy and hassle free.

Why are the DogBuddy website and apps changing and why should I use Rover?

We're combining our resources to invest in the people who make our communities so vibrant, and to help bring better services to dog people everywhere. All the information in your DogBuddy account, including past and upcoming bookings, is already available in a new account we’ve created for you on Rover.

How do I log in to Rover web and mobile apps?

Simply login using the email address and password that you used to log in to DogBuddy. Your profile is already set up, along with all your message and booking history, and any future bookings you’d already sent on DogBuddy. Don’t worry if you can’t remember your DogBuddy password, you can easily reset it on Rover.

I'm having problems logging in, what do I do?

Try to log in with the same email address and password as you used on DogBuddy. If that doesn't work or you can't remember your password, try resetting your password here. If you're still having problems, please contact our Customer Support team, but please don’t create another account.

I already had a Rover account apart from my DogBuddy one - what do I do?

If you used the same email address for your DogBuddy and Rover accounts, your accounts have now been merged. Log in to your Rover account to access all of your Rover and DogBuddy information in one place. If you used a different email address for your DogBuddy and Rover accounts, If you used a different email address for your DogBuddy and Rover accounts, please contact our Customer Support team.

Is there a Rover app?

The Rover app is available for iOS and Android devices - download now and simply log in using your DogBuddy username and password. The DogBuddy app will no longer be available, so make sure you download the Rover app to stay in touch!

Are my DogBuddy bookings still valid?

Of course, all of your past, present, and future DogBuddy bookings are available on Rover automatically. Please visit your inbox on your Rover profile to view these bookings. What’s more, these bookings are now covered by the Rover Guarantee which offers up to $25,000 in coverage for vet bills and $1,000,000 for property and third party damages. Find out more.

Will I still be able to find my favourite DogBuddy sitters on Rover?

Yes! All DogBuddy sitters are already waiting for you on Rover. You'll find them in your dashboard. Just go to your inbox and search for your old bookings, or try out the improved search to find a new buddy for your pooch.

Have sitter cancellation policies change?

Sitter cancellation policies are similar to what you're used to on DogBuddy. We recommend reviewing Rover's cancellation policies before making your next booking.

Are bookings on Rover covered by an insurance policy similar to what I'm used to on DogBuddy?

Yes! Safety is Rover's #1 priority. Every booking made through Rover is covered by the Rover Guarantee. When you're away, you can feel secure in the knowledge that your pet's health and wellness are covered. Visit the Help Centre to learn more about the Rover Guarantee included with every Rover booking.

I'm in the process of getting a refund. What should I do?

You don't need to do anything, your refund will be processed as normal. If you used a different email address for your DogBuddy and Rover accounts, If you have any question, please contact our Customer Support team.

How can I pay for a new booking?

Paying on Rover is easy! Your payment details from DogBuddy have been transferred already, and all payments are processed securely by our third party provider.

What is house sitting?

House sitting is similar to overnight dog boarding but takes place at the owner's home instead of at the sitter’s home. This is ideal for dogs who are more comfortable and relaxed in a familiar environment, plus the dog owner can have extra peace of mind that their home is being looked after, too. There’s no place like home!

What is a drop-in?

During a Drop-in visit, the sitter visits the owners home to check on the pet. They can also do other small tasks like feed the dog or fill up the water bowl.

What happens to my DogBuddy credit?

Your credit will be transferred to your Rover profile within 1-2 working days from the time you first log-in on your Rover account.

Will my booking fees be changing?

No - all bookings made through Rover will be charged with the same fee percentage as on DogBuddy.

Do I need to do anything to move my profile to Rover?

Your profile is already available on Rover.com. Simply log in using your DogBuddy username and password. You'll see that we’ve made all the information previously contained in your DogBuddy listing, including all of your upcoming bookings and booking history, available in your Rover account.

How do I log in to Rover web and mobile apps?

What has happened to my sitter profile?

If your sitter profile was live on DogBuddy, it is now live on Rover too! All of your bookings, messages, calendar availability, and reviews from DogBuddy are part of your Rover profile already. After you log in we’ll ask for some additional information, giving you access to even more services (including house-sitting and drop-ins) and improving the accuracy of the enquiries you receive.

What happens to my reviews?

Don’t worry - all your reviews from past DogBuddy bookings are now available on your new Rover profile. You'll be able to find them in the "view profile section" in your dashboard.

Are my DogBuddy bookings still valid?

No - all bookings made through Rover will be charged the same fee percentage as on DogBuddy.

How will my position in search be impacted?

All of the great work you've been doing to build your sitter profile on DogBuddy will go with you to Rover! Things like your DogBuddy booking rate, repeat guest rate and reviews will all be factored into your search position on Rover. Learn more about how your search score is calculated on Rover.

How will I receive payment?

You’ll need to update your payout method to receive payment for any in progress or already-confirmed bookings. After that you'll be set - you'll automatically be paid straight into your bank account. If you don't update your payout method now, we’ll keep your funds ready for you and release them as soon as your update your payout details.

What happens to my cancellation policy?

Just like DogBuddy, Rover allows sitters to choose between Strict, Moderate or Flexible cancellation policies. When you log in into your Rover profile for the first time, you'll be automatically opted into the Rover cancellation policy most closely reflects your chosen DogBuddy policy. However, there are differences between the policies and so we’d recommend that you review Rover's cancellation policy, then you can change your own booking cancellation policy to the level you prefer.

Is the new cancellation policy impacting the upcoming confirmed in the past on DogBuddy?

Your chosen DogBuddy cancellation policy will be matched with the Rover policy at the same tier. For example, if your confirmed booking has a moderate cancellation policy in DogBuddy, your profile on Rover will be given the Rover moderate cancellation policy, too. Will I get enough business on the Rover platform?

All DogBuddy dog owners are being welcomed to the Rover community, so your profile will be viewable to even more potential customers. By combining resources, we'll be able to invest more in our sitter community, growing our customer base, to adopting new technologies that'll help you run your business - which means more bookings for you!

How do new customers book with me?

Your profile will appear in Rover search results. You can also share your Rover profile URL with potential customers. To contact you, new customers will send you a booking request.

All you need to do is log in to your Rover account and update your payout method. After you’ve done this, you'll start getting your payouts direct to your bank account as usual. Don’t worry, if you don’t update your payout method, we’ll hold the funds for you until you update the details.

What happened to my calendar availability? How does the Rover calendar work?

Great news! You'll now be able to customise your calendar for each of the services that you offer. We have moved your DogBuddy calendar availability to your Rover calendar and each one of the services will have a number of slots (called spaces) based on your dog capacity in DogBuddy. We recommend that you visit the calendar section and update your calendar based on your own preferences. Remember, you can set up different availability based on the service you want to offer.
